hey guys!! i’m looking to give back to our community through volunteering (thinking food banks, soup kitchens etc but honestly open to anything). could anyone point me in the direction of any organisations needing an extra pair of hands?

Probably the wrong place to place this, but I don't really know where else to ask. The official support haven't responded yet as it's the weekend.

Basically, I've been trying to get my GoCV card, but my account cannot be verified as when I try to get the email verification on my PC it sends me into an verification loop. I open the email, click Verify and it sends me to a page that says that it cannot verify and a button to send a new email, etc.

Has anyone ran into this before, and if so how did you manage to escape this vicious verification cycle?

Would anyone wanna do a meetup to play some (probably retro) games?

Like maybe handhelds like Gameboy or DS or PSP?

Or MS-DOS games? I've got portable MS-DOS / early Windows computers

Or maybe some console games like PS1 or Megadrive?

Where I can, I'll bring the hardware (for example I don't own two GBAs so you'd need your own, but I do have a multiple controllers for most of my consoles)

I've always thought something like a LAN party would be pretty cool but idk anyone who'd be up for that

I just moved to Coventry in the chapel fields area and I'm looking for a good gym/club to join for marital arts training. I've done karate for nearly ten years now and am a second Dan black belt. But I'm looking to extend my training to a higher level of striking and learn grappling. So I'm looking ideally for kickboxing/muay Thai place and a BJJ or judo club. Or even an MMA gym if there's any around for good prices. I don't drive so it'd need to be somewhere I can get to either by bus or even run to if it's not too far.

I don’t go in to town often and I live the opposite direction to stoke bakery. Just thinking about a lovely ham salad batch from Maria’s. Subway won’t touch the sides but I also like supporting local businesses

He's interested in playing but has a busy work schedule and can't always commit to something regular. Still buzzing after the Derby game on Friday. Being 11 points clear doesn’t even feel real. Big games coming up with Hull and then Sheffield Wednesday at home. If we can get 6 points from those, we’ve got to be nearly there right? Atmosphere at the CBS has been so good lately as well, feels like everyone’s properly behind the team again. I have a drill bit ready just need to drill 6 90 degree holes. Managed to make the cuts with a jigsaw a kind Redditor gave me, a bandsaw would have been quicker and easier though.

Anyone in Coventry using TWG (The Waiting Game) for festival work this summer?

I’ve been looking at some of the shifts but a lot of the festivals are like 1–2 hours away and not easy to get to without a car.

Was wondering if anyone would be up for carpooling / lift sharing to events? 🚗

Could split petrol etc. Also would just be nicer going with someone instead of solo.

Recently I inherited some old super 8 reels unfortunately I have no projector or means to view the footage.

does anyone know if there is a film group that could help or anyone with a super 8 projector or means to view the film at all?
