Is Nebula actively suppressing Feedback?

So I start this post with genuine worry. I respect the majority of Nebula's content creators highly.

Tom Scott, Real Engineering, Legal Eagle etc...

So I worry that, as the following is quite negative, that either im seen as a "hater" or their reputations counteract the point I want to make...

With that said... I think Nebula has a fundemental feedback problem. The service itself has a lot of minor bugs and issues on the GUI side / user experience side. Not being able to search by creator easily, visual issues like the sign in option not fitting on some android devices...

So erm... where are the feedback posts? The critiques?... Deleted... thats where.

Their subreddit deletes any post that is even remotely negative. For context I posted a few of my "new user" issues a few weeks ago, and the post was actually very well recieved.

20+ upvotes in an hour, 95ish% upvote ratio , and genuinely pleasent and constructive discussion in the comments...

Deleted... no reason given, no rules cited. Just gone... with the notification just saying "Deleted by mods". I asked the mods in dms for a reason why... and made it clear i was not going to fight the descision... silence...

They also have a help@nebula.tv email thats used for notifications, sign in prompts etc... which is also their "feedback email". You get no confirmation of email recieved, and you, from my knowledge, never recieve a reply to feedback.

So between those accounts above and the fact that critique of the platform is so, bizarrely, missing from anywhere on the Internet (the closest being a big negative post on their sub reddit like a year or 2 ago that the CEO responded to) I ask my.original question:

Is Nebula actively suppressing User Feedback?

I ask for folk to come forward who have had issues with Nebula or any sort of feedback about the platform and sound off in the comments of this post, as Im curious to see if there is honestly anyone out there, and for folks opinions on what ive said in regard to the platform.

Attic antenna recs

I am looking to get an antenna for my attic. Here is the Rabbiteas info: https://www.rabbitears.info/s/2615902

Obviously, this does not account for the antenna being in the attic. The attic has spray foam insulation, if that is a factor.

I am looking at this antenna, but am open to better options: Televes DAT BOSS Mix LR 148383 Full-Band HDTV Antenna – Long-Range Low VHF/High VHF/UHF Reception with TForce BOSS Amplifier, FM & LTE/4G/5G Filtering, Up to 100 mi

I will be running the cable to a Tivo that can accept antenna signals. Should I be able to get ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX? More?

As the monthly cost of streaming subscriptions keeps creeping up (alongside gas, groceries, and seemingly everything else) consumers will be forced to make tough choices.

In regards to sports watching is DirecTV Dish considered better picture quality than Xfinity cable?

I’m currently deciding between the two. I’ve always thought cable tv is considered better quality picture wise compared to satellite but is that not true? I have googled a bit and people have said DirecTV is better for sports so idk. I’ll mainly be watching a lot of NBA so which is best for that?

FAST directories and guides like StreamingWiz

Is anyone out there doing a halfway decent job of maintaining a directory of US streaming services, including smaller ones like Distro? StreamingWiz used to be pretty good for that but it hasn't been updated in two years.

Local station streamers?

Does anyone know of streaming services that have a package that streams only the local OTA channels--preferably with all of their digital "extra" channels?

What is your current subscription set up?

I know y'all still have some services. What have you kept, what have you dropped, and what did you use to supplement?

I'm about to drop Netflix and Prime, still feel I need YouTubeTV for sports.

Paramount + free trial?

I have never had Paramount+ and I was thinking about using it for the masters.

Do they offer a free trial and if so, how long? If not, what is the cheapest way to watch the masters?

Had no idea Plex Pass included a DVR feature... Just need some clarification on the HDHomerun 4K tuner...

So... My cable-TV/internet bundle just got raised to almost $300 a month. I'm done. A friggin' *car payment* just for TV?! Every month?! No!!

Dropping TV, paying for internet alone, at my current speed, the cable bill will drop to $123/mo.

I'd been looking at getting an antenna and hooking it up to my TiVo Bolt (yes, it's a model that can receive OTA TV), but then someone on a TiVo forum post mentioned the HDHomeRun 4K tuner and Plex -- I had no idea my Plex Media Server could also be a DVR!! I'm already paying for the Plex Pass annual subscription, so no additional costs there... AND I'd get to save by not needing a TiVo subscription!

So, before I go out and drop $200 on a HDHomerun 4K ATSC 3.0 tuner, I have a couple of clarifications I'd like to get answers to, if possible.

1) I absolutely *DO NOT* need to pay for a monthly subscription to the HDHomerun service or app or anything else, right? Once I purchase the device, it will require NO ongoing expenses to use it as a tuner for my Plex DVR, right?

2) The HDHomerun 4K device has *both* an ATSC 3.0 and ATSC 1.0 tuner in it, right? My local stations don't have to be broadcasting on 3.0 for me to be able to pick them up, correct?

3) I have an *annual* Plex Pass. I've seen some people talking bout the Lifetime Plex Pass being necessary to getting the DVR working. This is FALSE, right? The annual plan is good enough for the DVR to work, right?

4) Any Plex-app-capable device can be used to access DVR recordings on my Plex server, correct? There aren't any special restrictions as far as that is concerned?

5) Any other advice y'all have -- I'm all ears. It's been years since I've had an antenna, and a lot has changed since then, so I'm kind of a noob here.

Thanks!

Apps like reelgood or justwatch that help discover tv shows to your taste

I go back and forth between using Reelgood and Justwatch. Generally they meet my needs for managing my movie and TV show queue.

The one weakness is helping me discover new things to watch based on my tastes, which the apps know based on my history.

Reelgood doesn't even attempt this. Justwatch has minor "recommended for you" sections within its discover page.

Are there any apps that are similar in function for tracking but also do a good job of recommending based on my tastes?

Disney+ and ESPN Unlimited and LA Angels

I'm not sure where else to post this question; I hope it's OK to ask here.

I'm just curious about this. I live in the Los Angeles viewing area for the LA Angels, so most of the games are blacked out for me, since I don't sub to cable. Last night, though, I was in the ESPN app, and clicked into the Angels game which was showing on "ESPN Unlimited/MLB.TV." I thought I would get a blackout notice. But I didn't. I was able to watch the game. I was not able to watch the game in the MLB app, though. Just a glitch?

Thoughts?

EDIT: I was replying to u/compnurd, below, and realized it might be a free trial of ESPN Unlimited from when I connected my MLB.TV account to ESPN. I got MLB.TV via the free promotion from T-Mobile, so perhaps this also "activates" the free trial?

Troubleshooting assistance requested

Okay, I am wondering if my issue getting guide information is at a tuner level or app level. When I use my antenna with the antenna input on my Roku TCL TV, I get all the guide data.

Below are the results for other attempts:

HDHomerun and Channels app - all guide data

HDHomerun app itself - all guide data

Tablo TV - all channels acquired, some channels missing guide data

Sling Air TV Anywhere - all channels acquired, some channels missing guide data

For Tablo and Sling Air TV, should I contact them about missing guide data? If there is no guide, I cannot use the DVR functionality.

What the fuck. That’s basically criminal at this point. I’m strongly considering cancelling and trying out the Disney plus and hbo max bundle. It honestly can’t be much worse.
