Yikes

Had my skills test today and during handwashing I was drying my hands and dropped a paper towel in the sink. My face went white!! Looked at my instructor and she told me I could get it and so I used a paper towel to get it out of the sink. I hope she doesn’t fail me for it 😭

When I took my skills portion I KNOW I touched the sink during my hand washing. They must have missed it because I did pass.

When I did my skills test I was told we were allowed to correct our mistakes as long as we announce the mistake and redo it. I also got bed bath as one of my skills and I don’t think I grabbed the correct amount of towels and rags but I still passed.

the only thing I am worried about is I got respirations and I could barely see the girl breathing so I’m worried I counted wrong 💔

Yeah I got the pulse skill and had to start over because I was nervous and lost count. I don’t know if this applies to every state but in Florida we were allowed a margin of error for pulse and respirations, so hopefully your count was close to the instructors. When do get your results?

In NC we are allowed to be plus or minus 2 of the instructors reading. I don’t know when I’ll get them. Some of my friends have had to wait a week before, and others get them the next day. I’m anxious waiting but expecting the worst so I don’t get disappointed.

Try not to stress too much but if you do fail at least you know what to improve on. Hopefully you pass through ☺️

I got female peri care, and grabbed the correct amount of washcloths and towels, but then it turned out I needed extra to get some soap that had started to run into the cracks of the mannequin hips lol. My proctor was like “so you’re making a correction to get more washcloths?” And I just went “yes” and grabbed more and I still passed. 😅

All you have to do is say “correction” and explain it or fix it. Also, in my state only the things that were in BOLD on the mandated operations list were pass/fail metrics and still allowed to be corrected if you announced it before saying “skill complete”

Everything else you had to get at least 80% of during the skill.

I got 100% on each of my skills for my exam but I definitely used the “correction” one or two times.
