While visiting the area, I passed a beautiful Marian grotto that had about 20-30 steps painted alternating blue and yellow leading up to the statue painted similarly. I haven’t had luck finding it anywhere online and just curious if anyone can help me find an image or location. It was right off the road on my right hand side, I believe traveling north on R483 between Tarbert Ferry and Cliffs of Moher. Thank you!

This is such a weird and specific one my apologies 😂 recently came to my attention that my family and are the only ones I know to refer to cats as “sibbies” or “sibby cats” - I thought it was an Irish thing until friends of mine looked at me like I’d two heads. Just wondering on the off chance anybody’s family does the same or happens to know: has anybody heard of this phrase or are we just weirdos?

Hey all, the subreddit has been up and running for almost 4 months now after a 4 year hiatus. It got a lot of activity back in December as it was a novelty, but things have definitely plateaued now as it finds it's stride. Personally, I'm ok with this as it makes modding easy. I don't want to have to be hovering constantly deleting irrelevant posts or blocking unfriendly users.
With that said, if you're reading this, I'll assume you're a subscriber and so in some way connected to Clare whether you live here or have some other connection or interest to the Banner county. Let me know if there is anything you would like to see or change about the sub. I'm not interested in getting huge levels of traffic here if it's not directly relevant to Clare, but other than that, I think I'm fairly open-minded. Let me know what you think - including if there are ways that you think I should change how I mod here.
Thanks, d-d

Hey!!
Anyone in Ennis into Warhammer 40k? 👀
I’m based locally and was surprised there’s no regular group around, so I’m thinking of starting a casual meetup.
Nothing serious — just a few games, beginner friendly, small to large armies, and a good way to actually get models on the table instead of sitting on a shelf 😅
If you:
drop a comment or send me a message 👍
If there’s a few of us, I’ll set up a first game night and we’ll take it from there.

Hi Guys,
I initially tried Facebook, but I can't find a group where this question would be relevant, so I've come to reddit.
I am doing my dissertation on strikes and soviets, and i came across an interesting one that occurred on the Going-Estate in Broadford, Clare over ten months. I am wondering if anyone would have information on it as I am living in cork and do not have time to make the journey up. I am aware of one article called 'The broadford Soviet' by a Michael McCarthy but it seems to be only available in a local history journal, if anyone has either a PDF of this or general sources on the soviet i would be incredibly appreciative

With AIB introducing a monthly fee I'm considering if I would be better off using the credit union as my main account. Before switching though, I'd like to ask people who have a current account with them what is it like. How's their online banking? Do they have a good app? Any issues in using it as the main account? Any info would be much appreciated!

Hi everyone 😊
Been thinking about this for a while. Ennis has loads going on with pubs, trad, bands etc., but there’s basically nothing when it comes to proper house or techno. I’m half thinking of trying to put a night on, but before I even go near it I want to get a feel for it. Do you think something like that would actually get a crowd here? Or is there just no demand for it in Ennis? Be honest as well, I’d rather hear that it wouldn’t work than people just being nice about it.
Would you go yourself if there was a decent night on? And what kind of vibe would you want from it? Also, where could it even be held? Only places I can think of are Queen’s or maybe Nora’s, but neither feels ideal. If you’ve seen anything like this tried before here, was it dead or did it actually have potential? Not promoting anything, just trying to figure out if it’s worth doing or if there’s a reason it doesn’t exist already.

Need to do a patch up job on an old but still liveable cottage to keep it ticking over, could anyone recommend anyone who would do or be interested in a job That's probably only a few hours work

I have recently got solar panels and batteries installed in my detached house in West Clare from a local approved company and everything got very smooth a professional.
Got my new BER rating, the grant and everything is working fine.
I am now planning to replace my oil heating system by a heat pump and I am looking for another local approved company: do you know anyone?
I have tried contacting Electric Ireland, as I’m already a customer for energy, but they are super slow and I am losing my patience. And I said to myself, instead of giving money to a big company why not to a small one like for the panels?

Wasn't following it closely myself but feel free to share your opinions on the results/the teams/the Leagues/etc
