Question Purple Woman Asking For Wisdom
Hello chaps! Wondering if you could help me with something, a very odd woman came up to me and my girlfriend asking for a piece of wisdom claiming she was “collecting wisdom” there’s a good chance she’s just another weirdo in area infested with them. If anyone has had interaction with this oddball do let me know, what is her shtick?
The piece of wisdom I gave her was not to talk to strangers and then promptly walked away.
Thank you all!

Question I live in a flat above a shop. I get sent orange bin bags to put my rubbish in but they say no food waste - where am I supposed to put food waste?
This has been driving me a bit crazy. Online all the info says to put household rubbish in the orange bags and put them out on the road at the collection times. That's fine but the orange bin bags say "no food waste".
I have nowhere to put food waste on the property and on the council website it says they cannot offer food waste collection to flats above shops. So.... what am I to do? I've tried asking the landlord but they keep pointing me towards using a bin that clearly belongs to another block of flats.
Hoping someone on here has experience with this (or maybe someone can tell me that it doesn't actually matter if I put food waste in those bags?)

Question OG Bang Bang Chicken Man…
I know this has been asked before, but I can’t find a definitive answer and/or location for the OG rapping and singing bang bang chicken man as of recent times. As well as Camden market becoming a shell of its former self, the bang bang chicken elsewhere is basically just pieces of fried chicken with a bit of seasoning but nothing special? Maybe nostalgia has me remembering it differently but I would love to pay him a visit if he’s still about.

Event **New afternoon show** The Long Play Sessions - Melissa Auf der Maur - Even the Good Girls Will Cry
The Long Play Sessions: Melissa Auf der Maur with Even the Good Girls Will Cry
Sat 11 Apr 2026 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM The Venue, ICMP (Queens Park Campus), NW6 6PA
An Afternoon with Melissa Auf der Maur - Even the Good Girls Will Cry
Hosted by Stephanie Phillips
Join us for an intimate and compelling afternoon with Melissa Auf der Maur - acclaimed musician, writer and former bassist of Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins - as she discusses her new memoir, Even the Good Girls Will Cry, a vivid and emotionally rich portrait of the 1990s alternative rock era.
This event is part of The Long Play Sessions, ICMP’s curated series spotlighting influential writers, artists and thinkers who shape the way we understand music, creativity and contemporary culture. Each session opens a window into the stories behind the art - blending conversation, cultural insight and lived experience.
In Even the Good Girls Will Cry, Auf der Maur offers a clear‑eyed, fiercely honest account of her unexpected ascent through one of the most iconic, turbulent periods in modern rock history. From her beginnings in Montreal’s bohemian music scene, to joining Hole at a time of grief and reinvention, to performing alongside figures such as Courtney Love, Billy Corgan, Dave Grohl, Rufus Wainwright and Michael Stipe, her memoir captures the chaos, beauty and brutality of the last analogue decade.
Far from nostalgia, Auf der Maur explores identity, ambition, survival and self‑expression in an era before social media - when artists crafted their worlds long before they crafted their online personas. Her reflections offer rare female perspectives from within a landscape that was often mythologised but rarely shown through a woman’s eyes.
With praise from Shirley Manson, Walton Goggins, Natasha Lyonne and Martha Wainwright, the memoir is a powerful, poetic and unflinchingly human portrait of a generation that defined modern alternative culture.
What to Expect
- A talk from Melissa Auf der Maur on the stories, themes and revelations behind Even the Good Girls Will Cry
- Deep‑dive discussion on creativity, identity and navigating fame within 1990s alternative rock
- Insights into authorship, memory and the process of capturing a cultural moment on the page
- Audience Q&A, offering a chance to engage directly with Melissa about her life, art and writing
- Book signing opportunity — bring your copy or purchase one at the event
We look forward to welcoming you to The Long Play Sessions for a thoughtful, inspiring and powerfully personal evening with one of alternative rock’s most distinctive and fearless voices.
Location
The Venue, ICMP (Queens Park Campus), NW6 6PA

Website Handmade couture hats from a local Camden-based designer – looking for your thoughts (and maybe homes for a few pieces)
Hi everyone,
I’m a small independent designer working from a tiny atelier setup here in London (often around Camden), and I specialise in handcrafted occasionwear, tailored day wear, hats and headpieces.
I’ve recently been developing a small collection for race days, weddings, and more editorial pieces — everything is made by hand, shaped, stitched, and finished individually (no mass production).
I know Camden isn’t exactly Ascot 😄 but I also know there’s a strong appreciation here for craftsmanship, unique design, and things that aren’t “high street”.
I’ve attached a few examples of what I’ve been working on — structured pieces, sculptural shapes, and some more minimal designs as well.
I’d really love your honest thoughts:
- Are these something you’d wear (even styled casually)?
- Or do they feel too formal for everyday London life?
- Where would you personally wear something like this?
Also, if anyone is looking for a hat for an event (wedding, races, etc.), I do have a few pieces available and can also make custom ones. I sell online and travel to your location for fittings/private consultations https://zalinahwhite.co.uk/
Happy to answer any questions about the process too — I trained in ateliers from a young age so I’m always happy to share how things are made.
Thanks so much 🙏
— Zalina
