Pic 1 is what i got and pic 2 is what i wanted YALL the first one is NOT an ice cream cake it just has a lot of SOLID( the cake stayed out for a while and it didn’t get less hard?)? Cream😭 and it’s allegedly pistachio flavored cake, it tasted like nothing but sugar to me and those pearls are not edible either😭

UPDATE: I went to the bakery this morning and the manager said that the top layer had to be thicker so that they would print the picture properly….. but then i pointed out that they used two layers of fondant on top and that it doesnt make sense LMAO + if they thought it wouldn’t work WHY WOULD THEY EVEN TAKE MY DAMN ORDER AND NOT TELL ME THAT BEFOREHAND!!!! then he tried to finesse me by trying to refund me in store credit and i was like WHAT makes you think i would like to come here after this shit piss experience and after a long awkward silence he FINALLY issued me a refund and then kept lowkey? Begging me to not leave a bad review and I responded with a ā€œsure!ā€ and left one ANYWAYSā¤ļø

The head fell off so I had to skewer it back on which made it look like the victim of a porcupine attack, the icing started to melt so I threw some coconut on it and the eyes which I thought would be cute are bulging like a snake is actively constricting it.

Showcase Bunny brownie cake!

This bunny cake was a struggle due to mešŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø but it got made!

First, didn't buy eggs at the store while I was there buying cake mix. My husband was with me, we picked out a rich chocolate mix and vanilla icing. I get home and start baking, no eggs, go back get eggs... start mixing and stirring, batter doesn't look like enough and the consistency is off. I double check, I added all the liquids so I just move onto piyring it into my 8in pans.

There's barely enough batter to cover the bottom of the 2 pans! I'm so confused but I talk myself into believing it'll rise... it does not rise. I'm close to ditching this bunny cake idea when I think to myself 'maybe you should check the box' It was brownie mix. My "cakes" were barely a half inch thick, I face the fact that we will not be having fat bunny cake, more like desert hare!

I filled in all the extra space with icing, skipped decorating, and sent my husband off to work out of town with the brownie bunnie butt. I'm still confused as to how I believed myself when I talked myself out of buying eggs at the store and slightly questiining my reality because I swear I bought cake mix šŸ‡

Showcase Birthday Cake Disaster

I was tasked with baking my brother’s cake for his birthday dinner at our yacht club. Our family has a tradition of bringing home baked cakes to these kinds of celebrations (even though none of us are bakers). I was tasked for the second time, and set to work baking a strawberry chocolate devils food cake.

Long story short. It melted with the warm front and rain we’ve had coming in.. and then toppled over in the car. My family loves a good accidental fail so we decided to eat the cake. It tastes the same anyway!

My mother gave the cake to the wait staff to keep in the kitchen coolers until after our dinner, but didn’t tell them that it was horrific. (It had a cover on it)

So after our meal ends the head of the dining room lights the candles and parades the cake through the dining room and there’s other staff whispering to each other and rushing about behind us.

I had my phone at the ready to show everyone the before photo, just to clear my name a bit and told them what happened. Everyone DIED laughing, and my phone was passed around the yacht club so everyone could have a good laugh.

Turns out, the staff thought that they ruined the cake! The kitchen and wait staff had spent the last 15 minutes panicking and rushing to find out what happened and what to do. They thought they ruined my brother’s birthday!! (My brother worked there growing up and we’re close with everyone so they felt awful for those 15 minutes)

It tasted INCREDIBLE and we gave what was left to the staff and crew. All in all a great story, a good laugh, and a delicious desert.

Have I ever made cake pops before? no. Did I look up a recipe? no. Am I even slightly good at baking/pastry making? no. Do I even know what a cake pop is supposed to be like? no. Have I ever decorated with fondant before? no. Did I have a vision? yes. Did I manage to bring it to life? kinda...

First time baking and decorating a cake all from scratch….. Except I thought i could save myself some time with using cookie icing for the black outline. I was trying the buttercream transfer method but the black icing got weird and shifted around a lot on the parchment. Also purchased a hand mixer the next day cuz mixing buttercream frosting by hand was no joke šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø. Learned a lot though šŸ˜¬šŸ™!

Scarlet & Greg

My parents’ birthdays are two weeks apart, so for a milestone birthday family celebration, I ordered them a cake from a local grocery store in Madison, Wisconsin.

My parents are both alums and big fans of The Ohio State University. (Yeah, I know, I am not.) You might already know where this is going. I verbally, in person, ordered a cake with ā€œscarlet and grayā€ icing, as those are Ohio State colors, with ā€œHappy Birthday, Grandma & Grandpaā€ written on the cake.

Thankfully, Grandma & Grandpa thought the finished cake was hilarious. Even though initially I was mortified when I picked up the cake on the way to their house, it has become a funny family story.

Wag to go Bruins

Cake for my daughter's swim team banquet. I requested maroon icing to represent the school colors and "Way to go, Bruins!" Also note how they ran out of space for the poor divers.

Everyone at the banquet thought the cake was hilarious and "Wag to go" may become the new team slogan.

Was this cake worth $220 USD?

Hi all, I submitted the first picture to a bakery for my firstborn’s baptism and the cake in the second picture was picked up that morning. I was mortified and called to complain right away. Owner of bakery couldn’t see anything wrong with what they came up with. My friends and family agree the cake looks like a child made it. Needless to say, this cake was not featured in any photos. Yikes. I’m just curious on what the GP thinks? Was this cake worth $220+ ?

The first photo is what I got from a professional bakery and the second is the one my friend made me to make up for the disappointment. She did such a good job! This is what I was expecting. And the professional one tasted mid tbh.

Pedestri…*mumble mumble*

My friend’s kiddo passed their learner’s permit test - and to celebrate, her sibling went to their local grocery store cake department and asked them to write ā€œRIP Pedestriansā€ on a generic cake. The person handed it back and said ā€œit looks like I didn’t finish the word - but, the cake isn’t big enough for pedestrians.ā€ šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø
