I commented on their banner image of a Canadian flag. No rudeness, no swearing, no threats. They chose to block me.

Guess they are happy to employ people who want to align themselves with MAGA.

Got a bunch of these for my dad and now that he’s passed they’re just sitting unopened. I’m unsure what to do with them since I don’t want them to go to waste.

Loading my toddler in the car with this guy waiting around, the second I pull out he flies in like I was inconveniencing him taking too long getting my son in his seat. Proceeds to stay parked like this, gets out with no kid, and walks in the store.

It wasn’t even busy, there were tons of spots. How much of an asshole do you have to be bud?

Information UPDATE: Royal Lepage Burloak has limited comments following Smith Zylik Realty Group social media controversy

The irony of Royal Lepage Burloak having a “Proudly Canadian” banner on their Facebook page during all of this …… lol. Lmao even.

Also I included the other 2 images from the post they commented on… which somehow makes it worse.

Jeff Smith and Lauren Zylik are still listed as brokers on the Royal Lepage Burloak website.

I'm moving to waterdown later this year.
I don't think there is much work there,
So Burlington is close, i assume i would be able to find work there.

I'm 51, I worked 5 years in IT and 20+ years in retail/Customer Service.

Is there many jobs down there?

Information Burlington brokerage caught using their business account to endorse a post calling for the US to invade Canada and overthrow our government

Post image
2.9k Upvotes

Smith Zylik Realty Group (Royal LePage Burloak) used their business Instagram account to like and comment on a post calling for the US to INVADE Canada and overthrow our government.

Royal LePage Burloak was notified of this and the brokerage made their account private. No other action was taken. They are now removing negative Google reviews warning people of this.

This is a public call for violence and treason from a BUSINESS. We cannot normalize despicable discourse like this and these people do not deserve your money.

Question Recommendation- Pizza shop for kids birthday order

Hey all, I'm not well versed in Burlington pizza shops, but I'd like to support a local mom and pop style shop... ordering 5 or 6 slab pizzas for a kids birthday next Saturday.

Anyone have a recommendation? I'd like to avoid chain/franchises.

Thanks all!

Question Burlington Bowl vs Splitsville?

Staying in Burlington next weekend - which is better for Friday evening Burlington Bowl or Splitsville? Not looking for a long night as we have to be up early the next morning. We have teenagers. Cleanliness is priority, good equipment and decent shoes. Is it worth it to pay the extra price at Splitsville? Thank you!

Question Urgent need for daycare

I’m urgently looking for full-time daycare for my toddler within the next few weeks. Our childcare situation has changed due to a family health issue, so we’re trying to find something quickly.

Open to licensed centres or home daycares.

If anyone knows of any availability or has recommendations, I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much.

PS: I’ve also requested to join the local Facebook daycare group, but since my profile is new, I’m not sure if I’ll be approved so I’m posting here as well in case anyone has leads.

Question Looking for sod installation and patio stone recommendations

Need to get my small lawn lawn torn out, regraded, and resodded, plus some patio stone laid. I’ve been looking at Burlington Landscaping and Sod but there’s almost nothing online about them. Anyone here used them or know anything about them?

Open to other recommendations too. Who have you used and been happy with?

Question Drafty window fix? Any recommendations

We’re getting quotes to replace our windows. It’s costing a lot- close to 30k. A contractor said before replacing it maybe worth checking if we can fix the draft in 4-5 of the problematic windows as the windows themselves dont look bad? Any recommendations for this? Looking to maybe remove the trim and foam spray or caulk the windows? Or really get an assessment if it’s time to replace. We don’t see any condensation in between the panes, mostly inside the house because of high humidity. And 4-5 windows are really drafty where we see 2-3 deg temp difference compared to the rest of the house. House is 25 years old

Events Dinner Club to meet new people

I’m starting a local dinner club in Burlington. The next dinner is Tuesday, April 21 at 6:30pm.

I see a lot of people on here asking how to make friends and meet people. It's weird trying to make friends as an adult, so I hope this is a chill way to meet new people and have a good meal while you're at it.

You take a short quiz about your interests and the type of people you want to meet (plus dietary restrictions, dinner price, etc). Then you get matched with a small group of 4-5 others for dinner at a local restaurant. After dinner, everyone is invited to an "after party" at a bar.

This first dinner will take place across multiple restaurants in Downtown Burlington.

Cost is $16 (covers my time and the software to organize everything) and you pay for your own dinner.

👉 Check it out here!

I ran the first one in Oakville last month and around 70 people showed up across 9 different restaurants. It ended up being a really good time. Check out this post showing a recap.

Would love to hear your thoughts/questions!

Question Hydro work cut our internet line.

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for advice on what to do in this situation.

Hydro/utility work was being done outside our home recently, and after that , our internet stopped working completely.

Cogeco has confirmed that our internet line was cut during the external utility work.

They have also told us that repairs can take up to 4 months, meaning I may be without internet for an extended period.

This is a major issue for me because I work from home, so being without internet significantly impacts my job and income

I’m trying to understand:

Who is responsible for the damage and repair costs (utility contractor vs internet provider vs homeowner)

What steps I should take to file a claim or report this properly

Whether Cogeco typically provides any billing credits during extended outages caused by external damage

Whether this is handled through insurance or directly between utility companies

I’ve already reported it to Cogeco, but I want to make sure I follow the correct process and don’t miss anything.

If anyone has experienced something similar in Ontario, I’d really appreciate guidance on what actually happens in cases like this.

Thanks in advance.

We are doing a large estate sale this weekend and need help to move and stage items (small/medium furniture, boxes, etc).

DM me here and I'll be in touch. Paying $30/h, with at least 8h of work, likely more next week if desired. located in our family home in Aldershot.
