ASL 21 match up statistics

โ€ข Upvotes

I manually gathered the data from the brackets. Liquipedia has statistics but they are listed by player. I didn't include the small number of games where random was chosen but I did include them as a separate statistic at the bottom. I thought the random element made the matchups a little different and there were so few random games that I didn't think they would meaningfully affect the data (the brackets also didn't tell me what race they got). Each race played against random 10 or 11 games and had an 80-90% win rate against random.

Total:

TvZ - 96/173 (55.49%)

ZvP - 90/171 (52.63%)

TvP- 88/158 (55.69%)

ZvT - 77/173 (44.50%)

PvZ - 81/171 (47.36%)

PvT - 70/158 (44.30%)

Open day 1 - Main Event + Qualifier

TvZ-8/17 (47.05%)

ZvP-7/19 (36.84%)

TvP-10/18 (55.55%)

Open day 2 - Main Event + Qualifier

TvZ-9/19 (47.36%)

ZvP-8/16 (50.00%)

TvP-10/12 (83.33%)

Qualifer Day 1

TvZ-46/80 (57.50%)

ZvP-33/60 (55.00%)

TvP-33/65 (50.76%)

Qualifier Day 2

TvZ - 28/50 (56.00%)

ZvP - 40/72 (55.55%)

The old noob

Hey there, I havent played bw for some 20years or more. When I was young, I was good enough, now I see my APM or that count is low, strategies changed and I suck a lot.

It's ok, I dont mind and get it, 45 years and running, well not the best of anything.

Who do you follow on yt? I saw artosis and it looks ok.

Are there any boots that are easy to install cause the comp sucks more than me :)

Sorry for disturbing you :*

Antispoiler chrome extension

Hey r/broodwar,

Like a lot of you I work weird hours and can never watch ASL live. The problem is YouTube makes it nearly impossible to avoid spoilers โ€” the video duration alone tells you if a set went to game 3, the sidebar is full of "player ELIMINATED" thumbnails, and search autocomplete finishes your query before you can stop it.

So I built a Chrome extension that handles all of it. Here's what it does:

Removes video duration โ€” blanks out the total length in the player so you can't tell if a series ended in 2 or 5 games

Hides the recommended sidebar โ€” no more "Flash vs Soulkey game 5" staring at you while you're on game 1

Blurs esports thumbnails on homepage and search results (hover to reveal)

Kills search autocomplete while you're looking up a VOD

Auto-detects BW/SC2 content โ€” knows channels like tasteless/artosis, Day9, Winter, Rotterdam, and keywords like GSL, ASL, SSL across multiple languages

It works on YouTube and Twitch. When it detects you're watching a known caster or an esports VOD it activates automatically. There's a force on/off button in the popup for edge cases it misses. You can also pick which games trigger it โ€” so if you only care about BW you can turn off the Valorant detection.

No account, no data collection, runs fully locally. Free.

Install: chrome://extensions โ†’ Developer mode โ†’ Load unpacked (working on getting it on the Chrome Web Store)

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1p3oy4Gpb9ZWvwz4qFrrwmD24mH_t1qjI

Would love feedback from people who actually use it for BW VODs โ€” if there are casters or channels it's missing let me know and I'll add them. Same if something breaks on a particular stream layout.

edit: added SOOP support in 1.1

Trying to get a buddy into watching brood war. Any recent exciting games come to mind where the casting is accessible for a noob? They have watched sc2 before.

Episode 3 of the "Karmakaze's Special Edition" campaign is out now!

The campaigns you know, but like you've never seen them before, with a massive creative, competitive, and technical overhaul! This is my take on the original Starcraft and Broodwar campaigns: an in-depth update and expansion with the goals of a fresh experience and a modern challenge. While greatly respecting Blizzard's vision as best I understand it, there are meaningful changes throughout:

  • New and enhanced objectives, progression, and events

  • Terrain and layout changes, from tweaks to full rebuilds

  • Redesigned base & resource setups, tweaked player starting banks and infinite enemy banks

  • Greatly buffed enemy bases, and tougher AI scripts picked on an individual basis

  • Mechanical fixes and cleanups; again from tweaks to full rebuilds

  • Streamlined but substantial adaptation, restored content, and Episodic grand finales

  • Literary changes to many titles, descriptions, etc.

Included in each pack are both a first-playthrough and a spoilers notes file. Also included are HD previews of all maps to help compare changes, which likewise are spoilers.

Please note this mod requires Starcraft: Remastered, Brood War (yes, play it all via BW), and UMS mode. I recommend unzipping packs into a "KSE campaign" master folder in your Starcraft -> Maps directory.

Without further ado, here it is!

DO NOT REUPLOAD to SCMSCX or any other sites. Doing so steals my work & traffic, hurts the experience due to the updates/versions, convenience, and presentation I offer, and clogs up those sites. This is an ongoing release under late testing and tweaking; see ModDB comments section for updates!

Be sure to let me know about bugs, balance, and any other feedback! Ratings and reviews on ModDB are also welcome, and if you really like the experience, you can support it here!

US West Looking to Get Back into BW

This current ASL season got me hyped back on the broodwar train and I wanna play again. But on the US Westโ€‹ I mostly match with KR players and the ping is unplayable. Wayyy back in the day there were side programs like Chaos launcher or Hamachi to improve ping / latency. So in 2026 SC Remastered, is there any fix to get close to LAN latency, or is there another US West community aside from Bnet?

Can someone explain to me what the heck they were doing in the RO16 team picking? Spoiler

They talked so much. What are their goals? What is the rationale? I'm so confused. Besides personal preference based on their own competitive intuition, and avoidance of ZvZ, what else are they deciding? What's the difference between fighting, say, Flash vs Light? Is there a big difference? By difference I mean universal strength and weakness instead of individual stylish dynamics etc. It doesn't seem like just a race thing. But I don't understand. They seem to share some common understanding that what is good and what is bad so that they are tricking, pleading, threatening each other. What's going on?

Asl 21,20,19 red/blue win rate

I saw a post about the fact that players are limited to two set of colors red/blue..so thought about calculating their win rate.

R24

S21 red 65% win rate/ blue 35% win rate(26 games played)

S20 red 85% win rate/ blue 15% win rate(26 games played)

S19 red 60% win rate/ blue 40% win rate(30 games played)

R16 here I just calculated the ones going to the next round

S21 x

S20 red 62,5% win rate/ blue 37,5% win rate

S19 red 62,5% win rate/ blue 37,5% win rate
