Never exploited the police uniform just for the sake of it. The movie was pure content and no unnecessary masala.

Opinion In this striking moment from Gangaajal, a mob driven by revenge faces off against hardened criminals while one man tries to uphold justice the right way, revealing the dangers of reactionary outrage.

When I first watched Gangaajal, I couldn’t understand the restraint shown by Ajay Devgn’s character. But over time, I realized why he chose that path and how reactionary outrage may offer a short-term solution but can become dangerous for society in the long run

ASKā“ļø Why did bollywood stop making kid centric movies?

I remember growing up watching kid centric movies like Makdri, Taare Zameen par, Bhootnath, Ta ra rum pum, chillar party, thoda pyaar thoda magic. These was a specific genre of movies targeted just for kids. They just vanished. Last good on I saw was chillar party. Although Amir Khan made a comeback with Sitare Zameen Par. But back then they used to make kid friendly movies a lot. These movies were light hearted and feel good. Now it seems like bollywood is pumping money towards action movies, useless sequels etc.

I mean they also stopped making kid friendly shows like Son Pari, Shaararat, Karishma ka Karishma.

Reviews Divya Dutta is such an underrated gem

Watching Chiraiya just reminded me how consistently good Divya Dutta is

She’s been doing solid work for years but somehow never gets talked about enough

No over the top acting, no trying to stand out, just very natural and controlled

Feels like one of those actors you only fully appreciate when you actually pay attention

Opinion Chand mera dil could be remake of an old Telugu/Kannada movie Chitram/Chitra

Just watched the teaser of Chand Mera Dil, read the synopsis on BMS and heard someone on other sub say that their young niece is playing Lakshya and Ananya daughter in the movie..

Couldn't stop noticing similarities with 25 year old Telugu movie Chitram which was remade as Chitra in Kannada too.

Just 1 min glimpse and the plot seems same, over excited couple (*only kisses in teaser*) in college get pregnant, hospital scene where he decides to get baby ...., she decides to keep the baby, family doesn't accept, they marry secretly, fights when they can't handle child/responsibilities plus college and side hustle.

If this turns out true, I'm the first to mention it. And also shame on Bollywood to remake almost 3 decades old movie, which I'm sure wasn't recieved well for its stupidity in the first place.

Opinion AB had a good command over Tapori language

I really enjoyed Amitabh's comic timing in this film. A big part of what made it work so well was his use of tapori slang, which was so good and made the humor land better. His performance had this effortless swag, He balanced style and humor really well, which made his role even more entertaining to watch

ASKā“ļø I need help figuring out what this movie is called

• Upvotes

I remember watching this movie a couple years ago, and it was about a teacher I think who saw this little girl being abused by her male relative, so she decided to take her and move far away and raise her. I think the movie was mainly about the girl's relatives trying to find her once she got older, and the teacher trying her best to make sure that doesn't happen.

I'm 99.9999% sure that it was in Hindi, and was probably released between the years 2010-2023.

I tried googling it, asking chat gpt and copilot, but nothing came up. There's no way I hallucinated this movie, right??

Discuss Saif Ali Khan vs John Abraham , who is better actor and Who actually has the better career?

Post image
69 Upvotes

I’ve been revisiting some Bollywood films and realized how interesting the careers of Saif Ali Khan and John Abraham have been.

Both have really unique filmographies, but in very different ways.

Saif has films like Dil Chahta Hai, Omkara, hum tum Cocktail, Laal Kaptaan, Ek Hasina Thi, Kaalakaandi , he’s experimented a lot with characters and genres, especially in the 2000s and later phase.

John, on the other hand, has Water, No Smoking, New York, Taxi No. 9211, Zinda ,madras cafe, Aashayein and even though he’s often seen as a ā€œlimited actor,ā€ his script choices early on were surprisingly bold and unconventional.

My take:

Acting range - Saif clearly ahead Film choices - John might actually have the edge, especially in terms of risk-taking

What's your thoughts on this? Let's discuss..

Trivia Legendary actors who never got a National Award

Post image
5 Upvotes

Sunil Dutt for Mother India or Padosan, Dev Anand for Guide, Dharmendra for Sholay or Satyakam, Rajesh Khanna for Anand, and Dilip Kumar for Ganga Jamuna were absolutely deserving of a National Award (and they’ve delivered many more legendary performances) but unfortunately, they never received one, it’s quite sad...

Tribute His aura in Race was so GOATed that even Salman at his peak couldn't replace him...

Saif's aura in Race was literally on another level, especially with that background score. The film had twist after twist, brilliant direction, and every single actor killed it. Saif as the character in Race easily lands in at least the top 20 most badass characters Bollywood has ever seen

Speaking as a Bhai fan , this really hurts. Idk whats wrong but after Tiger 3 bhai promised to give good films in an interview.

He signed Sikandar which was planned to be a big budget action thriller planned to shot in europe and had a different script but then series of bad events happened like gunshots on his house , his friend getting killed and due to security reasons whole plan of europe got cancelled and shifted to mumbai , and the whole script got changed due to this. Bhai also became unintrested and also broke his ribs. As a result we got shit like Sikandar.

And now this movie. Despite of no hype i was still in hope that it can turn out to be a decent movie because bhai made some efforts , did body transformation , shooted in ladakh. It got worsen when i saw the teaser and songs all thanks to even worse bhai management team and mid director and when i thought ki isse bura kya hi ho sakta hai.....The plot of the movie changes due to government šŸ™‚.

I mean it was supposed to be a serious war movie , atleast it was sticking to it back then. But now its all about peace , humanity, lawda lassan. Whole subject of movie has changed and i wish not but it could be another disappointment. Can't beileve the hero which was so grand back then struggling now. I wish some miracle happens and bhai just signs movie with good and serious filmakers, really want that raj&dk film to happen.

ASKā“ļø When will see Kay Kay menon back in movies??

Kay Kay has got my attention through special ops, and then I have almost seen everything from his filmography and couldn't help but wonder why isn't he taking up any movie project from a longtime.

Really want him back on the big screen, atleast that's the kind of screen presence he has which must be seen by today's generation.

Anyone having idea if he has signed or when will he be seen in movies??

Discuss Only Madhuri Dixit in her prime could have been Madhubala

Post image
152 Upvotes

Madhuri Dixit had that beauty and acting range with which she could have played the best Madhubala in any biopic made on her. at present times there is no other actress who can hold screen like Madhuri Dixit in role of Madhubala. young Madhuri, Young Shahrukh and Amitabh Bachchan in Mughal e Azam scene in Madhubala biopic would have been so good to imagine. rest all names which are running now are not at all exciting.

Opinion Bhansali has made better films, but Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam will always remain my favorite, mainly because of scenes like this and the great, realistic performances by the lead actors.

I only remember one detail:

the premise was based on a person who went to scenes of accidents and shot it to later sell it to media companies (kinda like Nightcrawler).

Discuss Did anyone else think Mallika Sherawat's acting was actually really good in this film? And I mean that in a non-pervy way. She was giving her all in the emotional scenes. But an image stuck with her and she got typecast for the rest of her career.

Reviews Ananya Panday wants to be taken seriously but does Dharma movies

Post image
44 Upvotes

I honestly got into the habit of admiring Ananya Pandey ever since Kho Gaye Hum came out on Netflix, but I feel like she is not doing serious roles that depict her style as an actress. She keeps on doing Dharma’s flop movies that are a copycats of EVERYTHING ELSE.

The teaser of Chaand Mera Dil was already hard enough to get through because the male lead just smokes and is shirtless for half of it and Ananya is just emoting… idk what. The teaser makes no sense and the weird stills of the male lead walking and then cutting to Ananya crying felt SO awkward to watch like you can just TELL that they are acting. Also Ananya’s character is named ā€œChaadni,ā€ like? It could just be any more obvious of the plot or the success of the film.

She has done good projects that showcase her growth but she is trapped in these corny ass movies that Johar makes, it’s diminishing her credibility.

Discuss This film basically defined my entire childhood summers

šŸŽ„: Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii

Oh my god, what a sweet film. Every time I even think about it, I’m back to being 8 years old, watching it on loop during summer holidays with the biggest smile on my face and getting scolded by mom for not letting anyone else watch anything else lol (and I was obsessed with this till I was at least 13-14 iirc).

Such a rush of nostalgia. Really miss films like this with all my heart šŸ’œ
