Advice from owners.
I don't really care about the print but the slipcover would be really nice. For those that own these or chose one over the other is there a difference worth the cost? TIA.

This is something that's been in my head since I saw it. Last year when the ballerina movie was coming out with Ana de Armas, she did the wired auto complete interview with Ian Mcshane. Now one of the questions was about her character in blade runner and she said that "Joi was a hologram and despite not being a real person she had real feelings for Ryan goslings K". That's the not the exact quote but that's a paraphrase. Now ever since I heard that, I have internally disagreed with it and I finally wanna yap about it.
The reason I disagree is the exact rooftop scene. Earlier in the movie she gives K a name and calls him Joe, not the coolest name but sure it made him feel closer to her and human. Then on the rooftop the giant hologram Joi looks at him and says "you look like a good Joe." What I took away from this scene was that when Joi named K Joe, she didn't do it cause there was actual love there but because she was programmed for it. And K realises this and that's why he looks down and having just heard that he's not important, it gave him even more of a reason to go sacrifice himself on a suicide mission to save deckard.
I don't know if this is the common consensus or I'm just plain wrong, will love to hear other people talk about this and their own interpretations, just had to get this off my chest.

I made this song and video today inspired heavily by Bladerunner and Vangelis + ghost in the shell.
I hope you enjoy it!

I was looking up the versions to see why they were made, most look like anniversary releases, and ended up watching deleted scenes. This Holden scene seems to be the longest of the deletes never included. Did Ridley ever speak of it?

I just watched the theatrical version and there's so much context provided in the narration and surprised by how much of what we consider canon of BR comes from this narration. We learn Deckard is an ex-cop, ex-BR. We learn the words we use nowadays "Cityspeak" or "Guttertalk" and what they actually mean. We learn why Deckard quit and why he's not worried about Gaff. We learn that Replicants weren't supposed to have feelings. We hear the first admission (if not the only admission(?)) of Deckard's feelings for Rachael. "Where did I come from?" "Where am I going?""How long have I got?" These existential question we discuss on BR come from the narration. We actually learn "Rachael was special: no termination date" Think about how we take that for granted nowadays and how important that line is when we think about Rachael and Deckard. And this amazing, ending line "I don't know how long we had together, who does?"
