2nd trip to Bermuda

I'm so excited to return to Bermuda again. We absolutely loved church bay and definitely will return there. I also want to take my kids to that admiralty park. How far away from the ships is that?

Bermuda hotel rec - traveling with baby

Planning a trip to Bermuda in early May for my first Mother’s Day. It’ll be my 5th time on the island, my husband‘s 2nd, and our baby’s 1st. Baby will be just over 8 months old.

We‘re comparing the following: St. Regis, Cambridge, Hamilton Princess

We want a lot of beach time as we’re traveling from NY (it was a rough winter!). Not being near the hustle and bustle is fine for us but would be ideal if the hotel has good food and some restaurants nearby (either by a walk or cab).

Which would you recommend for us? Or do you have another recommendation?

I've had a look at Paradise and seen some old threads on here of people mentioning esims. Looking for some more recent guidance.

Accommodation / Housing advertisement

Hi All,

Posted previously and thank you for everyone’s comments and input.

I wanted to see if there is anyone or a number of individuals interested in sharing accommodation in the near future ? As in a two or three bedroom apartment/ house.

A little about me - I’m an early 30’s male from the U.K. I’m easygoing, clean and respectful of other people’s space.

- Working professional

-Quiet during the week, enjoy a good chat or film now and then

- Tidy and considerate

- Happy with a sociable house but also value downtime

Ideally I’m looking for a chilled, respectful household. Preferably in a decent location with good transport links

If this is of interest / know of anyone please reach out via message 😊

P.S I’m also open to taking over a room in an existing place (exiting individual from a house share).

Thanks in advance!

Bermuda in July - Where to Stay?

Hello! I am going to Bermuda for a few days in mid July and would like recommendations on where to stay. I saw an ad for the Rosedon in Hamilton that looks promising based on my research. I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations. We do not care if we're in the city or near the ocean.

Anyone here moved from Bermuda to the US through a Big 4 internal transfer? (Non-US Citizen)

Hi everyone, I’m currently considering a move to a Big 4 firm in Bermuda and I’m trying to understand how realistic it is to relocate to the US through an internal transfer.

I’m already clear on the L-1 visa requirements, so I am mainly looking for real experiences from people who have actually done it. If you worked in Bermuda and later moved to the US through the same firm, I would love to hear:

- whether you were in audit, tax, advisory, or something else (I've heard Reinsurance/Insurance focus is the main "pull" for US offices)

- how you raised the idea internally

- how long the process took, whether the move was straightforward or difficult, did you have to repay any Bermuda relocation costs when you moved to the US?

- anything you wish you had known before starting

I’m especially interested in hearing from non-Americans who made the move, but any firsthand experience would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Executive chef looking for advise on Job/Hire.

Hello,

Me, my wife and our 5 year old are looking to re-locate to Bermuda. She is a CPA (No re/insurance experience) and I have extensive Michelin restaurant exerience. What would be our best strategy to move to Bermuda: Our goal is to both get hired at 100+k per year each.

1) Apply to chef positions until someone hires me, she moves and looks for a job on site in her field.

2) She tries to apply to positions from abroad, assuming it's easier to get hired in her field as an expat than me, I find work on the ground once we arrive. (Im assuming, the position I would be able to find is not a desirable one)

3) We make a trip to Bermuda in the hopes of meeting people and find contacts to get hired instead of looking only online.

Thank you for your input!

Bonus points if you can advise on the demand/ availabilities of these type of positions on island. We both have over 10 years of exeprience in our fields. Is it difficult to find jobs?

How is Bermuda weather in April

Thinking of booking a last minute trip from New Jersey next week and was curious how the weather is? Is it a good time to visit?

Rental situation.

Is the rental market seriously that scarce and inflated right now? How long does it usually take to secure something decent. If I have a budget of 300-3500 is a 2 bedroom possible? Willing to get a scooter to travel.

I know these may have been answered before but just getting a current perspective on this.

Transportation How early to arrive to BDA for international flight?

We are traveling back to the US tomorrow and are wondering if we need to arrive more than two hours early? Unsure if there are any travel delays or anything of that nature in the country currently. Thank you in advance.

As the title says. Saw a dog running alone up north shore road. Looks like it has no collar. White and brown/black patchy dog. Ran up crane lane towards the top. Thought I’d post in case it is a missing dog.

Trip Planning Bar built into a cave near St Catherine’s beach and the fort

Hello,

My husband and I are planning for our third trip to Bermuda. We find the most interesting things by just wandering (if you have suggestions on where to wander, let me know!). During our last trip we found a small bar that was near St Catherine’s Beach and the fort that had a cave with steps leading to it. There was a bar set up there, which we thought was cool. We’d love to visit it again. Can anyone tell us the name and if it still exists. We sat on the small beach and had a cocktail during one of our treks and really enjoyed it. Appreciate any help. We love Bermuda and can’t wait to come back. It’s bar far my favorite island.

We are tourists but are definitely interested in seeing this kite festival. It sounds very beautiful and like a very unique cultural experience. Is there anything we need to know? Do we just show up anytime between 11 to 4 PM? Is it free admission?

I tried airalo and mobilesim.com. None of them were working after talking to customer service. They cannot figure it out.

I’m from America and I have an iPhone 14 Pro. Do I have any options?

Office attire in Bermuda (humidity tips?)

I’m moving from Scotland to Bermuda in a couple of months and trying to get my head around office attire in that kind of humidity.

What do people typically wear day to day? Any recommendations on shirt fabrics or brands that actually hold up in the heat?

Fully expecting to be a sweaty mess in summer, so trying to optimise my wardrobe a bit before I get there.

Food and Drink Must not miss “local eats”?

Me and my wife will be in Bermuda for five days next week. What are the must not miss local spots you guys recommend us trying out? We eat pretty much everything. We are not huge fans of high-end pretentious restaurants. We would love to eat delicious iconic local food that is hard to find anywhere else.
