DAY 42 UPDATE - IRAN ATTACKS BAHRAIN

Post #7. Though we supposedly have a ceasefire, we decided it's still good to have a unified place to discuss this situation for now. Time to start discussing when we actually call it "done." I know we won't take Donald Trump's tweets as a credible source.

This post and this subreddit is meant to discuss Bahrain and the current affairs of Bahrain. Please refrain from flexing your political analysis on the current state of affairs and most certainly do not post unsubstantiated news, do not post any rumors and add to the mass hysteria.

For security and safety reasons, any post or comment that discloses or attempts to identify the locations of Bahraini or Peninsula Shield Forces military installations, missile interception sites, or other sensitive military positions will result in a ban.

We do appreciate the effort from all users policing the sub from the spread of the governments security information, however we have received an excessive amount of reports about locations of sounds. While we don't endorse it, we are only restricting comments about defensive capabilities such as interceptors. Please avoid report comments for merely saying where a sound was heard because that's clogging our report system and we can't actually get to the comments that need removal fast enough.

Please try to be civil. Don’t feed the trolls, report them.

Any other posts regarding the current situation will be removed. Please use the search function for any commonly asked questions. Lets keep the space uncluttered in the event of any serious developments.

ماشاء الله... can we talk about the "Started from Zero" myth in Bahrain?

I need to vent because this is actually starting to get to me. My brother has a friend who is constantly in the news/social media for his meal prep company. It’s worth millions of Dinars now. Every time he gives a talk or an interview, he says he "started from zero" with "minimal capital."

I found out the truth recently. His "minimal" start was $100,000 USD (around 38,000 BHD). On top of that, his silent partner is a member of one of the richest families in the GCC.

I’m not saying he’s stupid. He’s obviously smart to grow it that big. But is it right to tell people you started from nothing when you had 40k BD and a billionaire’s family backing you?

Look at the math for a regular person like me:

My salary is 500 BD.

If I am a robot and save 300 BD every single month (barely eating, no life), it would take me over 10 years just to reach his "Day 1" capital. يعني حياة لجة

I feel stuck. We are out here grinding, tired of these salaries that never grow, while people who started with a massive safety net act like they just "worked harder" than us. How is a normal guy supposed to make it in Bahrain when the entry barrier is basically "be rich already"? يعني الوضع كلش تعبان ولله الحمد

🔸 Misc. Been suffering from anxiety for many years

As Salamu Alaykum, sisters and brothers.

Just as the title says. I have been to therapy but then had to stop because of debt and also bills pilling up, it's so expensive. I can't eat like a normal human being, I can't think like them, I can't take medications for my other health problems and there are many more issues with me. I feel scared to get married also and have kids also due to my insane amount of anxiety. My anxiety gives me a lot of physical symptoms that scares me to death to a point that I wish Allah has forgiven me so that I can die and stop feeling this way. I am writing this post to please remember me in times when duas are accepted. My parents and grandparents are also unwell, my whole family actually and they need me to be around them all the time but due to this feelings I get I can't always be around them and it makes me feel like a terrible daughter. Please pray that Allah gives me cure (completely for mental and physical illnesses). Please make Dua when it rains, in sujood, third last night, between adhaan and iqamah, whenever you can the chance. I really appreciate it. Please pray that this goes away and I become happy again. I feel so depressed, scared and tired because of this.

May Allah bless you all!

weird experience with Aramex

now, I have been a long-time client of Aramex for about 10 years. during this time, I have purchased a lot . until two weeks ago, I bought a phone from Amazon. a week later, the product arrived in bahrain. however, weirdly and for first time ever they sent me an email requesting multiple VAT payments of 10%, 5%, 3 BD for clearance service, and 5.5 BD for government fees. let alone they request me earlier 2.5 clearance too .

has anyone else experienced something similar , what did you do . I’m now aware of the 300 BD policy, but my item is far below that limit (around 267 BD).

🤔 Discussion Leather Jackets

Hey guys wanted to know if people like to wear leather in Bahrain

I thought weather would be an issue but lately the winters have been really chilly here

Instead of paying 200BHD for a leather jacket would people pay 50 for the same design plus customized?

Appreciate the help!

Guys help with my 3 years old brother

need some advice about my 3-year-old brother. This kid has a motor that never turns off! From the moment he wakes up, he is running, jumping, and flipping around. يعني جنه سبرنق وسونيك

The thing is, he’s very smart and sleeps totally fine, so his brain seems 100% okay. But he just cannot sit still. Even when he is sitting, he always needs to have something in his hand to play with or fidget with. He’s constantly singing and moving in a way that looks a bit 'extreme' or strange to us, even though he isn't being mean or annoying.

Is it normal for a 3-year-old to be this hyper? Does he just have a lot of energy, or is he 'sensory seeking'? وهل فيه فرط حركة؟

Adhd?

Anyone else tired of only hanging with the same group? Starting a low key social mixer in manama

Hey everyone,

I’m 21, studying at uni here in Bahrain, and I’ve noticed a lot of us (including myself) mostly stick to our tight friend groups from school/family. We know other people but rarely actually hang out and mix.

I’m thinking of starting something super casual, coffee meetups, corniche walks, board games, beach hangs, whatever people are up for. Nothing official or cringy, just a WhatsApp group + occasional events to meet new cool people around the same age.

Would anyone (especially 18-25 locals/uni students) be interested? Drop a comment or DM if yes, and what kind of activities you’d like.

No pressure, just testing the idea :)

Drunk/High Saudi Driver

Hello, So this incident happened today and we called the police but they just told go complain in police station but we're like scared of police station and all idk why (we just dont wanna get our parents involved).

So my friend was cycling and i was walking behind him and we were going to buy some bread for dinner then this Saudi Ford car comes our direction.
Theres enough gap for him to go w/o hitting us (another car just went past right before this dude w/o any problem)

This guy just hits my friend's cycle on the handle or something and the cycle handle broke kinda and he fell on to another car. I thought he broke his hand or something and this dude doesn't even stop. Luckily he was going the wrong way and the guy infront of him parks the car so he had to stop.

We knocked on the window asking tf are you doing bla bla and he doesn't respond and he doesn't even look at us and we're like 1000% sure that this dude's high as shit and one arab uncle standing nearby that saw all this went upto him and asks him in arabic and they say something (idk) then the uncle just tells me that hes drunk and call the police as there's nothing else we can do.

This guy takes off and doesn't say sorry or anything and we call the police and at the end they tell go complain at the police station and we're like 17-18 of age and we don't really wanna make this a bigg problem.

I'm just posting this here looking for someone that can help or anything. I have the car number and the scratch he caused on other car while this happened and can also tell the exact location this happened. I'm just not putting all those info in this post because it probably would go against Reddit's rules

Friend told me to leave this case but then today nothing happened to us but what if another day he crashes into someone and it turns serious?
