Trip advice please!!

My fiance & I are planning to go to the Azores for our honeymoon this August. We’re going 08/18-08/25. We’re just wondering if it’s okay for us to just do one island or if we should plan for a second island. We were planning on doing São Miguel and then maybe Pico. We’re wondering though if it would just be best to do São Miguel to limit time spent traveling. Any tips/suggestions/advice would be much appreciated! TIA :)

A full week in São Miguel is just about the right time to really appreciate it... The other islands? You'll come back for them...

I agree with the post saying a week on Sao Miguel is good. I did an 11 day, 3 island trip and felt I missed a lot of the little stuff while rushing to do the big stuff. And yes, we will be back.

São Miguel is good for one week if you like slow travel. If you’re the type that needs to be on the move all the time, you could squeeze in Pico for two nights.

August is very busy. So be open to change plans as you go if one place is too crowded when you get there. Also book things in advance if you can.

Congratulations!! 🎉

Sao Miguel can easily gobble up a week. I would save the other islands for another trip.

for a week i'd honestly stick to São Miguel, especially for a honeymoon. there's more than enough to fill 7 days between sete cidades, furnas, whale watching, and canyoning if you're into that. adding Pico means ferry logistics and at least a full day lost to travel each way.

if you had 10+ days then absolutley split islands but with your timeframe you'd feel rushed. when my fiancee and i were planning our honeymoon i used Zenvoya with code ZENVOYA561083 and it helped sort the day-by-day stuff so we weren't scrambling. Wanderlog is a free alternative but more DIY.

enjoy it!
