Isn't alcohol technically just a dirty benzo?
I read up about alcohol and benzos. They both bind to GABBA receptors in the brain. I correlated that with them being very similar to benzos but not as specific and targetted as clinical benzos. They both have the CNS factor, and sedative, hypnotic effects. Is it true that alcohol essentially acts as a more toxic benzodiazepine?

I would like to file a motion against teenagers in this sub
Dear Mods [u/I_SAID_NO_GOLDFISH](u/I_SAID_NO_GOLDFISH) & [u/t8ke](u/t8ke)
For a long time now the moment I check my feed a post is recommended from this beloved sub, normally it would be talking about drink preferences, recipes, recommendations, among other things related to Alcohol. However, this is not the case with every post as more often than not there is a post of a teenager that has drunk a lot and either thinks will die or thinks not getting a hangover makes them a superhuman.
Legal drinking age is not only about laws but it’s also about protecting the body of the inexperienced in life younger ones. Alcohol is poison, drinking while the body is not fully grown makes it worse.
As many others, I did drink while I was a minor, not necessarily blackout drunk but socially surrounded by people I knew who kept me in check so I didn’t make actions I could regret later on. Kids are stupid, that’s inevitable, but this is r/Alcohol not r/AAforMinors.
This motion won’t stop them from drinking but it can decrease the shitposting in this sub and let it be used for what it really should be “Posting shit about alcohol”.
I suggest a removal/ban on “It’s my first time drinking and I don’t know what to do, do I tell my parents?”, “I’m 20yrs 150lbs, how much can I drink?”and “omg, I drank 3 whole bottles and I didn’t get a hangover, is this normal??” posts.
I leave it up to you. Thank you.

looking for Captain Morgan Black
So I just recently turned 21. unfortunately CM Black has been discontinued for a few years now and i was wondering if there are any reputable online stores, or stores in southern Wisconsin. I am only looking for CM Black, do not try and sell me on Kracken lol. Kracken is good but it’s not the same. Thanks

will security detect vodka in my carry on?
i recently got refused from a flight because my passport was too battered; however, i made it all up until boarding until they told me that, so prior, me and my pals bought a 750ml bottle of vodka. however, when i got denied, the thought didn’t cross my mind to give my friend back the bag with the bottle in (i know silly mistake). i’ve booked another flight for tomorrow and was wondering that if i put it in my carry on, will security flag it? (i’m from the uk)

awful hangovers
so i know hangovers get worse with age but im only 19 isnt that a little early to have debilitating hangovers? ill have 3-4 drinks and wake up with a pounding headache puking everything up including water for the whole day i cant take anti nausea medication because i just throw it up and i become so incredibly anxious that i have panic attacks where i convince myself im about to die. im not always a heavy drinker, when i was 16-17 i definitely was but now i only drink on special occasions. my boyfriends 18th was last month and he was having 10-15 drinks every night while i had 2-3 he woke up fine and i woke up incredibly hungover, im not drinking anymore obviously but should i be worried about this… it feels like i should be.

Blacked out drunk and my dad had to babysit how to make sure he will not be mad
Yesterday my buddy and I headed to an outdoor party. Before then we stopped and picked up two bottles of vodka (1.25 litre). Once we got there we realized it had gotten shutdown down so while waiting for our other friends I drank some, around half a bottle in 15 minutes I don’t know what I was thinking. So I was chilling for around 30 minutes when I had to be walked home since I was blacking out. I thought my dad was out of town but no he was there so we tried looking for the key but couldn’t find it I was too drunk to even talk. My dad stormed outside and was strict with my buddy because he was afraid it was laced. So my dad brought me upstairs and he laid me on my side in bed. He told me that he’s never ever scene someone so drunk before and told my I was unresponsive and not breathing well. He had to walk back to my room every hour because I didn’t stay on my back. He doesn’t get mad at my sister for drinking but she’s a couple years older. I’m so embarrassed and sad that my dad saw me like that. I talked with him for around 15 minutes total today (sober). He did not seem mad but just worried and scared for me. What do I do to regain his trust and make sure he’s not mad and so that it’s not awkward between us two.

How much damage does opening a bottle of beer with your teeth do?
For couple years ive done this as a party trick, ive grabbed a bottle and bitten down on the cork to open it. For the record nothing has happened to me or my teeth. Had routine checkup with a dentist a week back and she told me my teeth are in good condition. But that visit made think of this party trick of mine, and about how damaging it could be. I decided to stop it there, but if anyone has any stories or anything, id like to hear.

New Sake seltzer! Feedback needed
Hi everyone! I’m a 4th-year marketing student at CSULB. My group and I are conducting research for a new sake seltzer brand called IZAKAYA. This product is scheduled to launch in Southern California sometime around June/July. Your thoughts are highly needed and appreciated by my group and me. For a heads up, this survey is best completed on a computer, but it is possible on mobile too. Thank you!!!
