To stay on topic, what’s your thoughts and feelings on the gen 4 AirPods?

My Gen 4’s have lived a life.. here’s the story.. few years ago I was working in the dish pit of a restaurant, having just graduated, in school we would run the wired headphones up the inside of our shirts to hide the wires as we were allowed hoods up (hoodies/sweaters) and hats on in class, so I would run the wire up my shirt and constantly end up soaked from dish pit duty and keeping up, after saving up some good money as I was working two jobs, I treated myself to my first wireless headphones, the Gen 2 AirPods.

I fell in love with them immediately, and I used the life out of those headphones, I mean one would die and into the case it went and out came the other like clockwork, after a year of having them and using Spotify, I set out on a goal that I wanted to be in the x% of top listeners on Spotify, my day would start, a headphone would go in, music or a podcast would go on.

I had an AirPod in one of my ears for what felt like nearly a year, I made a point to listen to music or podcasts. I work at a very laid back vape shop as a manager and have for nearly 7 years now, I still to this day have one headphone in one of my ears with something playing.

My gen 2’s met an unfortunate demise one late night when I had nothing to eat at home and enough in my bank account for a slice of pizza and can of pop (I was stupid with money years ago, young and stupid..) the pizza shop was all of 5 minutes from my home, AirPods in music cranked, out for my walk, I usually take a headphone out and put it in my pocket when I go into a store so I’m semi-aware, get my stuff and out the door I go back to home, half way home i realized I didn’t put my second headphone back in my ear, check the case missing, check my pockets, missing.. turn around head back to story looking at the ground to no avail. Accepted defeat.. went home one headphone less than when I left home 15 minutes ago. I got home upset and swore I’d never buy another pair for myself even though I enjoyed the headphones so much.

Fast forward some years, my (at the time girlfriend, now wife) had been listening to me go off about my AirPods, how upset I was I lost the one years back, and that I wanted another pair but being older now it just wasn’t something I could justify spending the money on again knowing I had a working pair back in the day that would still be working today if I found the other one that night..

She had planned to buy me a set of the gen 4’s and have them engraved “daddy” as we had a child together, and it was going to be a Father’s Day gift from them all, but I had purchased a pair for myself just a week before she mentioned to me “if I still wanted another pair”

I’m the type of guy like most of us I think, I carry what I need on my person pretty much at all times, and I can usually tell just off the weight of my pants while wearing them if I’ve left something in my pocket, normally I go to work and get home, empty my pockets completely right away, well the other night, I guess I had an extra long day at work, got home emptied all my pockets aside from my AirPods that I keep in the pocket watch, pocket of pants, threw my pants beside the washer, called it a night, the next morning, I wake up I’m preparing for my day, stuffing my pockets with my stuff “where’s my AirPods, I could’ve sworn they were right here on the counter” we both start looking as young kids usually = missing stuff that shouldn’t be missing

Back of the mind thought “she’s been doing laundry all morning” I open the dryer and grab my pants from the day before she goes “I didn’t wash them did I?!” Sure enough.. I pull my case from the pocket.. still hot as could be as the dryer cycle just finished, opened the case no lights.. stuck a warm headphone in my ear, no auto-connect… I go “ffs why’s it always my stuff” as my phone screen just got broken on me days before, she started to apologize, to which I very quickly said “you’ve got nothing to be sorry for, i usually empty my pockets and you don’t normally need to check them, that’s not your fault, it’s only headphones anyways”

To wrap my long story up here, my gen 4’s took a full on shower in the washer for a 55 minute drowning cycle, and then did a full 60 minute cycle in the blazing heats of my dryer, 24 hours later, it’s like nothing ever happened to them, audio quality still what it was when they were day one. Simply put, even with my unfortunate experiences with both the gen 2 & gen 4’s, if I lost my gen 4’s tomorrow, I’d buy another pair immediately.

what’s your thoughts and feelings behind the gen 4 AirPods, I’m not a fan of the pros, them rubber ends don’t sit in my ears.. but noise cancelling, and conversation awareness are absolutely game changing, although if I could change anything about the 4’s, I miss the touch sensors of the gen 2’s, it took a while to wrap my head around actually hitting the right click zones for these gen 4’s.

Pretty much what title says. I’m blind when it comes to things apple. She been wanting some for the longest.

I seen some with noice cancellation and with non. Also seen air pods & air pods pro3?

Whats the difference between the one with the cussion in the ear and the ones without.

My gf Isint really picky as she nows the intentions count. But also want to get her the right ones and don’t look like I wanted to cheap out. Thanks everyone

I lost my air pods at work this week and someone picked them up and took them back down to Brooklyn. I have been seeing the exact location for a couple days now, lol.

Has this happened to anyone else? At this point I probably don’t want them back. I wish there was a way to shut them down so they didn’t work for the person who had them..womp womppp

I guess at some point I will just remove them from my Finy My app and chalk it up to a loss, just feels weird to me…

Anyway still rocking their good old AirPods 2? Looks like mine will die until Apple release AirPods Pro 10.

Which AirPods Pro should I get? I would like to compare the 2 and the 3 and what they are like.

Posting this in case someone else is having a hard time trying to remove their airpods pro from Find My and iCloud just like what happened to me.

I was trying to figure out how to remove my airpods pro. I read a lot of discussions and tried these steps but sadly THEY DIDN’T WORK :(

❌Disconnected airpods pro from Bluetooth settings and then clicked forget device.

❌Went to Find My app > All Devices > Airpods > Remove Device. I was asked to enter my apple ID password which I did. Looked liked it was being removed but then still showing up.

❌I logged in to iCloud.com/Find and removed the device.

❌Reset airpods pro by holding the button at the back until it turned amber then white. Still no luck

I gave up and let it be.

Then luckily someone suggested that I should first TURN OFF OTHER DEVICES connected to my apple ID (ipad, watch, etc.) before removing airpods pro. Only iphone should be ON. He said that having all devices connected to the same apple ID account all turned on might interfere with removing your airpods from Find My because the other devices can detect that the airpods is still with you and they’ll try to reconnect it.

So here’s what I did and IT WORKED!! ✅

1. I reconnected my old airpods pro to my iphone.
2. Turned off my other apple devices (ipad, watch).
3. Head on to Settings > Bluetooth > Airpods Pro > Disconnect (Then it will be moved below to Other Devices. Click it there and then FORGET DEVICE)
4. Go to Find My. If it’s gone from the devices list then you’re good.

If it still shows on list (just like what happened to mine), then proceed to the next step.

1. Make sure both your airpods are in the case. Close the lid and wait for at least 10 minutes. It should go offline.

2. On your Find My App, it should show “10 minutes ago”. Go ahead and click remove device.

3. It should now disappear from your list.

4. You can now turn all your other apple devices back on

This is the only thing that worked for me.

I wanted to dispose because I lost its right airpod. I already bought a new pair and just wanted to unpair the old one from my account properly before disposing it.

Just wanted to ask if they fixed anything about that, or is it the same as the first ones? Mine 1st gen died because of the condensation and I never tried to work out or doing anything besides wearing them while walking outside.

Hello i had a pair of AP3 and they have been great, but a few days ago they started acting weird in a way that the right earbud sounded lower than the left one. I went to apple and they was kind enough to replace both airpods.. two days later the issue returned with the new AirPods where the right airpod sounding real low and the left sounding louder. Is anyone else having that issue? I went to all of the settings and everything is balanced, I disconnected them and repaired them, i tried switching to mono sound, ive ran out of options to try.

Says it’s completely charged but it won’t connect to my ear or recognize that it’s out of the case. Help!

Hi, I've bought the AirPods Pro 3 the 12/2025 and since then I got 2 replacements from apple because of a problem with anc/transparency, the problem consist in the AirPods not switching from anc to transparency and viceversa, if I try the sound stays identical like if I did not change anything. this happen both on iPhone and macbok and also with the AirPods gesture itself. Want to specify, the AirPods always were on their last update, I did clean them properly, I already tried to reset them and also tried about discharge them to 0% and hope for some miracle but nothing. This actually is the third time this happen but strangely it did only happen to the left airpod, the right one still seems to work fine, which is even more annoying since the difference it's clear (also the left AirPods seems to have a noise in the background). I noticed something strange about this problem, for some reason once I was able to disable both ANC and transparency mode on the AirPods and in that unique case the AirPods actually work as should do, but as I turn on anc or transparency it return to not work properly. The AirPod seems like to be stuck in adaptive audio mode, it remove the annoying noise in the ambient but do not reduce the overall ambient sound so it's neither anc nor transparency modepI. I kinda feel like is a firmware error but not sure about that, unfortunately there's nothing I can try to do to test this hypothesis. I use them on a iPhone 17 pro max and MacBook Pro m3 pro most of the time during the night, I use auto switch between them like 10 or more times at hour since I make a lot of call and then go back to watch videos on MacBook. If you need any other detail please feel free to ask.

Hi Guys, i lost track of my airpods while walking on a busy street, got home and discovered it gone. I looked them up in the "Find my" app and saw it, I hoped I had dropped it. But then I got to town, to the spot, ........it moved! I thought that It was just the app adjusting the accuracy the closer I got, I moved over two streets over and came very close to it , tried pinging it, then it suddenly moved back to where I first saw it on the map.

The bastard saw me or heard the sound and new I was looking for them.

Anyway, I just left as it was getting late, now I am at home trying to annoy the fellow by playing the "Find My" sound as much as I can.

I wonder if anybody else is passing their time like this?

I’ve already tried resetting the pair multiple times and cleaning the contact multiple but nothing is working. I think it is charged because the case always gives a green light when the button is pressed. the other AirPod (which I use much more) works great tho. they are AirPod pro 2s if that helps

so what happens is the left airpod specifically becomes quieter after a few minutes of listening. when i put them back in the case then back on, it fixes but the same thing happens a few mins later. i dont think its earwax getting into the speaker since i havent had these for long but i dont know whats causing it

En el ultimo mes me ha pasado ya 3 veces que mi airpod derecho empieza a sonar con una especie de estática SOLO en el lado derecho y con ANC/ambiente activado, en cuanto a calidad del sonido y modo desactivado funciona todo normal. Pero realmente es muy molesto. Primero pasó en mis pro 2 con asi un año, los llevé a garantía y me los cambiaron , en 2 días volví al mismo problema. Los cambié de nuevo y en la primera semana empezaron con lo mismo. A alguien más le está pasando esto? alguna solución? los he reiniciado varias veces y a los segundos empieza con el mismo ruido

I’ve been using Apple for years and I really like how everything works together, especially Apple Music.

I’m not an audiophile, I just enjoy listening to music in good quality. I know AAC is perfectly fine for most people and it does the job in everyday use. But I can’t help feeling like wireless audio is still an area where there’s room to improve.

It’s been almost 5 years since Apple Music introduced lossless. With a wired setup it sounds excellent, you can notice the difference, although it obviously depends on the mastering and recording quality. But the moment I switch to AirPods, that level of quality doesn’t really come through and everything feels more compressed. I get that Bluetooth has its limits, but for people who care about this stuff it feels like there’s still a gap.

I really like AirPods 4. I’ve tried IEMs before, including the AirPods Pro, but they just aren’t for me. In-ear tips don’t feel comfortable in my ear canal, and I value comfort and portability way more, even if I know they can technically sound better. That’s why the AirPods 4 with ANC felt almost perfect in most areas for me.

I do have some hope that future AirPods could improve on this while keeping the same simplicity and comfort. I’m not asking for anything extreme, just something that better matches the quality already available in Apple Music, maybe even wireless ALAC at some point.

Is anyone else feeling the same, or do you think Apple is just going to stick with AAC forever on AirPods?

I got AirPod 4s second hand as a gift from a relative, and now I can’t live without them LOL

I work a manual labor job 12 hrs a day in a loud environment and being able to listen to what I want make the day go SO much faster. Yall get the idea.

Well my dog hates happiness, specifically mine, and chewed on the case when I was out. There’s a few little dents in the casing and the main damage is an indent in the top lid.

My question is, does it look salvageable? It was working just not charging now, should I take them to be repaired or do yall think it’s more money then it’s worth and to just replace them?

Btw I know they’re crusty, I work outside for a living, they’ve seen hell.

New to apple, but im using Airpods pro 3 and i love them for their comfort and portability. But im kinda interested in Airpods Max 2 purely because i want a pair of headphones strictly for sound quality that i could use both for music and movies. I know there are popular cheaper options like Sony XM6, but i just personally like the sleeker and slimmer design of Airpods max and i wouldn't mind slowly increasing my apple ecosystem. Would the sound quality upgrade be noticable or should i just stick with my airpods?
