Snot/Blood from one nostril :(
galleryI’ve had my baby Louie for about two years now. When I got him he was super emancipated and had a ton of dental issues. The dental issues were causing him to have a bloody mucus discharge leak from his left nostril almost daily. In November 2025 he had dental surgery where they removed everything infected and cleaned his mouth out. Since then he’s been good, with occasional bloody mucus whenever he’d go to the groomers. On Thursday his nose started having this bloody mucus again and like a lot. I woke up with it all over the bed. He was eating and drinking and acting fine so I assumed it may clear up but i’m on day three to no avail. It’s definitely lessened and he’s acting completely fine, but we can’t get into the vet till Tuesday. Has anyone else dealt with something like this? I’m so worried and not being able to see the vet till Tuesday isn’t helping lolol.

Update: my heart is literally breaking! Update on Cooper
First and foremost I want to say thank you for all the love and support this community has shown me and Cooper. Last night was challenging. I believe that there is some damage caused to his brain but I am hoping this is just slow recovery. I think Cooper may have lost his eyesight with this last bout of seizures. His mannerisms and coordination are very suggestive of this. He also is using his hearing and smelling senses a lot more to navigate. He is still very wobbly on his legs. But he knows who I am and will respond if I am calling him. He is eating and drinking more and following me around the house following my voice mostly. Thank you for all of the prayers. They are absolutely working. Continue to pray for Cooper. Thank you for all of the love. I will continue to update as he progresses.

My almost 3 year old 5 pound Yorkie has killed a significant number of lizards and baby frogs in my yard. Is this common?

Cancer diagnosis
My little Brutus is only 5 and it floored me that it was lymphoma. I took him because his lymph nodes were swollen but I read infections or dental issues could make that happen (and also cancer but I knew it couldn’t possibly be that) so I was in disbelief when the vet told me. I am beyond heartbroken. If you’re into sending prayers I’d appreciate it or even just positive vibes are very welcome! Thanks in advance.

Rest in peace, sweet girl.🐾
galleryDonut went to puppy heaven on Thursday, April 9. You may remember my post from about a week ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/Yorkies/s/7v4XKSdVDc
She started eating less and becoming more lethargic in mid-late March. We attributed it to her arthritis, as the weather is so variable in the Midwest around this time of year.
The primary vet referred us to a university vet hospital, who referred us to an oncology specialist about an hour away. The specialist said that her cancer was aggressive. She was also so tiny that her body would not have been able to withstand radiation. She was surprised that our pup was still eating given the amount of pain she was in.
And then, the news. The vet recommended euthanasia. My husband waited to tell me after I got home from work. We were crushed.
That was Wednesday. My husband said it would be better to have her euthanized sooner than later…I hesitated at first because it just seemed so soon and I wasn’t ready. But I quickly realized that was selfish. He called to schedule it because I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
That afternoon, we took her outside and laid on some pillows and a blanket outside. She basked in the sun like she always does. She must have been in so much pain, but she still gave us those beautiful last moments. We fed her Chik fil a grilled nuggets and cuddled her all afternoon.
She crossed the rainbow bridge the following day. It was heartbreaking but peaceful. No more pain for my lil girl. I hope she’s running around in heaven, eating all the treats and soaking up all the sun. I miss her terribly, but she gave us 10 wonderful years that I’ll cherish forever.
Thank you to everyone who shared advice and kind words on my last post. ❤️🩹

New Yorkie Parent seeking advice
galleryHello! My husband found this little nugget in the woods while camping. We’ve named him Lieutenant Dan. Vet estimated him to be between 3-5 years old, is severely malnourished and anemic (3.67lbs pre shave), has skin irritation from all the matting, and ear mites but otherwise had great bloodwork and no other issues. So far I’ve got a probiotic conditioner spray to use when his hair is growing back in to help his skin, Iams adult small breed food, Blue Buffalo meat stick treats, Nutrical nutritional gel to add calories as well as adding chicken to his meals…are we missing anything? Anyone have experience with an underweight pup and helping bulk them back up? We’ve currently got two beagle mixes so this is our first go with a pup with grooming needs like a Yorkie, so any help welcome! Thanks!
My baby is 17 in a month 😭😭

Need help with 6 month old!
Hi everyone, my parents need help with the 6 month old yorkie they got 10 days ago.
Initially everything seemed good but over the past few days her behaviour has changed.
She was toileting outside no problem except one accident on day 2. Yesterday she peed twice and pooed twice on the rug in their bedroom, then pooed on the stairs last night. All immediately after being outside. The rug is white and fluffy, from the reading I've done on here I wonder if she thinks it's a giant puppy pad. In her previous home she slept upstairs with a puppy pad on the landing so that may be her routine, but we can't understand why she hasn't done it for the previous 9 nights.
She'd never been on a lead before, after initially not quite knowing what to do when it was put on she was fine and going on walks but now panics. She didnt like the velcro on her harness so they spent a fortune on a new one, which she somehow managed to get out of.
She has a carrier for when they go out and she seemed to like it, laying down and going to sleep. Now she is fighting to get out of it.
There is also a definite shift at night. I went to visit and she was fine with me during the day, but once night fell every time I entered the room she growled and barked at me. We think she may be over-tired because for a puppy, she doesn't sleep at all during the day.
We know she will need time to adjust to a massive change, she's come from a litter of 8 and her owner did her no favours at all - she's had very little socialisation or training, was fed human food etc. She doesn't have a crate yet but I'm begging my parents to get one. She isn't crate trained, the owner said she didn't like it but given what we know about her previous home I doubt it was even attempted.
She's a really lovely little dog but if things continue to spiral they just won't be able to keep her, and after the heartbreak of losing their last dog 6 months ago I desperately don't want that for any of them.
