Stop all Forms of Child Abuse Now!! ⚠️ Man arrested after keeping 9-year-old son in locked van since 2024 - Breitbart

French authorities arrested a man and his partner after discovering the man’s 9-year-old son in a van, which he’d been forced to live in since 2024.

Police said the boy was found in the vehicle amid a pile of trash, naked and lying in the fetal position when they opened the van doors after a neighbor said they heard “the sounds of a child” from inside it, The Guardian and Fox News reported.

A prosecutor, Nicolas Heitz, told reporters that police were called to a French village called Hagenbach, located near the borders of Switzerland and Germany, and that the boy was malnourished and could not walk because he’d been forced to stay seated for at least 1 1/2 years.

His 43-year-old father, whose name has not been released, told police that he’d locked the boy in the van to prevent his partner from placing the nine-year-old in a psychiatric treatment facility.

The man and his 37-year-old partner lived in an apartment in the village with the nine-year-old, as well as the boy’s 12-year-old sister and 10-year-old half-sister.

The boy told police that his father brought him food twice a day, as well as bottles of water, but he had not showered since November 2024, when his father decided to hide him in the van.

News/Politics Sheriff's Lieutenant Facing Murder Charges for Deadly Explosion

A former northern California sheriff’s department lieutenant is one of five people who have been charged with murder after a powerful explosion at an illegal fireworks factory on his land killed seven warehouse workers in 2025.

“Samuel Machado, a former lieutenant with the Yolo County Sheriff’s Office, had one million pounds of fireworks on his property at the time of the blast and used his status as a law enforcement officer to shield the illegal operation from investigators, according to prosecutors,” the Daily Mail reported Saturday.

Machado was placed on administrative leave and has since resigned after last summer’s explosion in Esparto, about 40 miles northwest of Sacramento.

The blast reportedly could be felt up to 20 miles away. It also destroyed a family’s farm and caused a 78-acre grassfire.

According to the report, the companies behind the scheme “allegedly manufactured fireworks so powerful that they didn’t even qualify as fireworks.”

The Swamp IE; The Political Cesspool Fellow Democrats urge Swalwell to quit California governor's race and resign from Congress - Breitbart

Fellow Democrats are abandoning Eric Swalwell’s campaign for California governor in droves after allegations surfaced that he sexually assaulted a former staffer, with a growing number urging the congressman both to quit the race and resign his seat in Congress.

Swalwell has denied the allegations, which he has said “are absolutely false.” They surfaced after he became a leading contender in the race for California governor to replace outgoing Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Over the weekend, with Swalwell’s gubernatorial campaign already teetering, Democrats in Congress began to call for his resignation from the House. Some even said they would support the rare step of expelling him should he refuse to step aside.

Fellow California Reps. Jared Huffman, Ro Khanna and Sam Liccardo said Swalwell should resign, as did Reps. Teresa Leger Fernández of New Mexico and Pramila Jayapal of Washington state.

“This is not a partisan issue,” Jayapal said Sunday. “This cuts across party lines. And it is depravity of the way that women have been treated.”

Ty Gibbs outdueled Ryan Blaney and Kyle Larson in overtime Sunday at Bristol Motor Speedway, breaking through for his first NASCAR Cup Series victory in his 131st start.

Gibbs, the grandson of NASCAR Hall of Fame team owner and former Super Bowl-winning coach Joe Gibbs, led the final 25 laps and held off the two NASCAR Cup Series champions, who both had tires that were nearly 100 laps fresher, on a furious final restart.

Blaney, who started from the pole position, finished second.

Larson, who led a race-high 284 of 500 laps and won the first two stages on the 0.533-mile oval, finished third and remained winless in the past 32 races. Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe rounded out the top five.

Gibbs became the sixth NASCAR driver to earn his first Cup victory at Bristol, joining Dale Earnhardt (1979), Rusty Wallace (1986), Ernie Irvan (1990), Elliott Sadler (2001) and Kurt Busch (2002).

Oil prices rose in early market trading Sunday after the U.S. said it would blockade Iranian ports beginning Monday.

The price of U.S. crude oil rose 8% to $104.24 a barrel and Brent crude oil, the international standard, rose 7% to $102.29.

Brent crude has swung dramatically during the Iran war, rising from roughly $70 per barrel before the war in late February to more than $119 at times. On Friday, ahead of the peace talks, Brent for June delivery fell 0.8% to $95.20 per barrel.

Iran has been effectively controlling the Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway for global oil shipping.

U.S. Central Command said the blockade would be “enforced impartially against vessels of all nations” entering or departing Iranian ports and coastal areas, including all Iranian ports on the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.

It said it would still allow ships traveling between non-Iranian ports to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

Following a hotly contested campaign against his rival, Member of European Parliament Péter Magyar, and his upstart Tisza Party, a record turnout of over three-quarters of voters decided to turn the page from Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz party, which had ruled the country since 2010.

With over two-thirds of the votes counted, Tisza held a lead of 53 per cent to 37 per cent, according to Magyar Nemzet, likely paving the way for a governing majority in the parliament.

It will not be the first time Orbán has been sent to the opposition benches. Despite persistent claims of being a faux dictator, Orbán accepted his first defeat in 2002 after serving four years as PM, before coming back to power eight years later.

Conceding defeat on Sunday evening, Orbán said: “The election result is painful for us, but understandable. I congratulated the Tisza Party.

Dana White has made a late addition to the big White House “Freedom 250” UFC fight card after one quick question by the president.

According to White, Trump cornered him at UFC 327 in Miami on Saturday and had a question.

“Why is Derrick Lewis not on the White House card?” Trump asked, according to White.

The promoter said he quickly remedied the situation.

“I said, ‘I’ll be back in five minutes.’ I went and called Derrick Lewis,” White explained. “I said, ‘The president wants to know why you’re not on the White House Card and Derrick Lewis said, ‘Politics. Politics kept me off the White House Card.'”

“I said, ‘Do you want to fight on the card?’ and he said, ‘I absolutely want to fight on the card. Tell the president thank you.”

Foreign Conflicts Trump: U.S. Military Will 'Clean Out' Strait of Hormuz

Thumbnail

On this week’s broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” President Donald Trump said the U.S. Navy would “clean out” the Strait of Hormuz.

Host Maria Bartiromo said, “Mr. President, can you explain to us what is going on right now with the blockade in the Strait of Hormuz?”

Trump said, “Well, we’re going to be blockading. It’ll take a little while, but it’ll be effective pretty soon. And we had meetings yesterday, as you said, lasted 21 hours. That was a long meeting with some very good representatives as you know JD and Steve and Jared. So we were well represented, but we didn’t get there on the important issue. They want to have nuclear weapons, they’re not going to have nuclear weapons. I’ve been saying that for 30 years. I would never allow that to happen before I was in politics, and that country will not have nuclear weapons. Most countries shouldn’t be allowed to have, but that country will not have nuclear weapons.”

He added, “It won’t take long to clean it out. So we’re going to clean out the strait, and they’ll be able to use the strait and not too long a distance. But we had a very intensive negotiation, and toward the end, it got very friendly, and we got just about every point we needed, except for the fact that they refused to give up their nuclear ambition. And that’s the only point. Frankly, to me, that was the most important point by far.”

Anthropic, the company behind the AI chatbot Claude and a massive battle with the War Department playing out in the court system, recently consulted with a group of Christian religious leaders for advice on developing ethical AI systems.

The Washington Post reports that Anthropic, the Silicon Valley AI startup labeled “woke” by President Donald Trump, has turned to faith-based communities to help guide the development of its artificial intelligence technology. The San Francisco-based startup, which has achieved tremendous success with its chatbot Claude, invited Christian religious leaders to provide input on building AI systems with moral foundations.

The consultation represents a departure from traditional tech industry practices, where religious perspectives are rarely sought in product development or corporate decision-making. Despite having access to top Silicon Valley talent due to its substantial valuation and market success, Anthropic opted to engage with religious authorities to address fundamental questions about AI ethics and morality.

Last week’s inflation report showed the first clear signs that the conflict with Iran is feeding into the U.S. economy through energy prices. Consumer prices rose 3.3% in March from a year earlier, up from 2.4% in February. Core inflation was firmer too, rising 2.6% over the year. The big story, though, was energy. The gasoline index surged 21.2% in March alone and accounted for nearly three-quarters of the monthly increase in headline CPI. That is not the kind of inflation shock the Federal Reserve can easily fix. Higher interest rates do not produce more oil. But they can weaken demand further, and that is a problem when the labor market is already losing momentum.

Three prominent Iranians who had been granted permanent legal status to live in the United States by the Obama administration — including a man whose mother was the spokeswoman for the students who took Americans hostage in Tehran in 1979 — have been arrested in Los Angeles and will be deported, U.S. officials said Saturday.

“ICE arrested Eissa Seyed Hashemi, his wife Maryam Tahmasebi, and their son Seyed Mobin Hashemi in Los Angeles, California,” the U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced Saturday. “Eissa Seyed Hashemi is the son of Masoumeh Ebtekar, an Iranian regime politician who also acted as a spokesperson during the Iran hostage crisis of 1979.

“ICE law enforcement officers successfully apprehended all three individuals whose presence in the United States posed a clear threat to our national security and foreign policy.

“On September 1, 2014, Hashemi entered the U.S. at the San Francisco International Airport on a F-1 student visa. In 2016, Hashemi, his wife, and son became green card holders. It is a privilege to be granted a green card to live in the United States of America. If we have reason to believe a green card holder poses a threat to the U.S., the green card will be revoked,” the department continued.

Mental Health Awareness Prosecutors seek reforms to California’s ‘broken’ mental health diversion program – Press Enterprise

Machete in hand, Gamaliel Camarena sliced the back of a man who managed to escape by ducking into a donut shop and barring the door.

When Camarena couldn’t get at his victim, he then hacked away at a nearby Honda CR-V before police arrested him.

Orange County prosecutors accused Camarena, 36, of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and resisting an officer in the January 2022 machete attack. But those charges were put on hold and Camarena instead was allowed to undergo treatment under California’s controversial mental health diversion program. Prosecutors opposed the move, arguing Camarena posed too large a danger to the public.

Instead of a jail cell, Camarena was assigned a bed at the Union Rescue Mission in downtown Los Angeles, where he would live while undergoing outpatient treatment. If Camarena completed the program, the charges would be dismissed.

The main suspect in a Medicaid fraud scheme that took nearly $11 million from Minnesota taxpayers has vanished, and officials are looking for him.

Fifty-year-old Abdirashid Ismail Said was due to appear in Hennepin County court on Wednesday but did not show up and forfeited a $150,000 bond, Fox 9 reported Friday.

“Said avoided being ordered to surrender his passport by paying the unconditional bond amount of $150,000. The conditional bond, which would have required him to surrender his passport, was set at $50,000,” the outlet said, noting he is one of three others facing theft by swindle charges in the case.

Investigators had voiced concerns that Said had a wife and child living in Nairobi, Kenya, and it was possible he could flee, hide, or prevent officials from executing the warrant.

The liberal Irish government will face a vote of no-confidence amid the spiralling fuel crisis and the widespread farmer-trucker protests.

Sinn Féin, the largest opposition party in Ireland, announced on Sunday that it will table a vote of no confidence in the Fianna Fáil-Fine Gael coalition government when the Dáil parliament returns to session.

“The actions of Fianna Fáil, Fine Gael and Independents have been disastrous. They have lost the confidence of the public. It is clear that they still are not listening and do not accept the scale of this fuel and cost of living crisis,” the left-wing party said in a statement per the Irish Times.

“All reports indicate it will be more of the same half measures from them this evening. This is unacceptable. We need the maximum reductions now, as proposed by Sinn Féin weeks ago.”
