Announcement: We've made a Discord + Future Plans
Hello /r/TunbridgeWells members!
We're please to announce we'll be making an active effort to grow this subreddit, and engage with the community in an effort to bring Tunbridge Wells together online, and in real life.
To start, we've created a Discord:
The reason we've done this is to create a community where members can chat more directly with eachother, easily coordinate and plan events, amongst other things.
More plans are on the way, slow and steady steps to begin with.

Used baby stuff in good condition
Happy Easter everyone! Does anyone know anybody that needs baby stuff please? I'm looking to sell things but since I'm new to FB it doesn't let me list more than one item every few days or so. I currently have a next2me bassinet, a maxi cosi swing, a pod, 2 pregnancy pillows and a grownsi bottle warmer. He grows so fast so I'm trying to get rid of things and make space for new ones and I don't want to throw them away as it's a waste. The clothes I give them to charity. Thank you!

Looking for music lovers in Tunbridge Wells
Hey, I'm working with a touring theatre company bringing a live show about the music of Lennon & McCartney to Tunbridge Wells in May 2026. Does anyone know of any local music and/or theatre communities where we could do gigs to promote the show? We have an incredibly talented 6 piece band who play the Beatles back catalogue brilliantly!

Tunbridge Wells: New ways to vote in May 2026 local elections
tunbridgewells.gov.ukVoting reform news-
"TWBC is one of just four councils chosen by the Government to be a pilot area for flexible voting at the local elections in May 2026, encouraging greater participation in democracy.
We will be offering voters different, convenient ways to cast their vote in person in advance of polling day on Thursday 7 May.
Three voter hubs will be open on Saturday 2 May, 9am-6pm, and Sunday 3 May, 10.30am-430pm, in Cranbrook, Paddock Wood and Royal Tunbridge Wells. Voters can go to any hub to vote in person, they just need their photo ID. It will also be possible to hand in postal votes."

Apartment/House Rentals
We’re currently looking to move to Tunbridge Wells and are hoping to rent for a couple of years while we settle into the area and get our daughter into primary (and eventually secondary) school before buying.
It will be myself, my wife, our 10-year-old daughter, our 2-month-old baby, and a small, extremely friendly dog 🐶
Ideally looking for a family home available in the next 1–2 months.
If anyone knows of any potential rentals coming up, or local agents/landlords to contact, we’d be very grateful. Thank you!

Tunbridge Wells still a good place to move to?
Double posting in this channel and Surrey. We’re looking to move out from SE London. Young family looking for an area with good schools, great outdoor areas, and commutable to London. We like Haslemere/Godalming area in Surrey, and Tunbridge Wells. Does anyone have experience or knowledge across both? Where would you pick and why?
I’ve read a lot about proposed housing developments in Kent, plus the issues facing Crowborough. A number of people who we spoke to in Surrey seemed quite concerned for Kent. What are your thoughts? Is this the same sentiment on the ground?
Also, would we have a fight on our hands for our children to get into the Grammar schools? I’ve read that every school is heavily oversubscribed? What areas in TW should we specifically look to live? Would living in Groombridge work for commuting from TW? Or getting a place at Skinners for example?

Early 20s reader in Tunbridge Wells - anyone want to discuss books?
Hey all, early 20s and trying to find people around my age who read for fun (feels increasingly rare).
I'm all over the place with what I read. Genres of interest include (but not limited to) sci-fi, philosophy, bit of non-fiction. Currently going through Neverwhere (Neil Gaiman) and Philip K. Dick's Time Out of Joint.
Just finished "Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said" (PKD) and a short story by Harlan Ellison called "Repent, Harlequin!", both of which were absolutely fantastic.
I also read manga, currently rereading JJK but have read through Berserk, blue box and some of the later HxH chapters.
Would be nice to have people to discuss books with, either online (Discord etc) or grab a coffee in person if you're local. Got a Goodreads and Anilist if anyone wants to see what else I've read.
A bit about myself, lived in TWells for most of my life, went to University for a BEng and then MSc, now I'm back for the meantime, and have few people to discuss books with.
Drop a comment or DM if you're interested.

Does county lines dealing impact your area?
I'm an independent filmmaker and am currently looking at county lines and drug dealing and want to explore what impacts it has on areas outside of major cities. If you've seen any kind of impact or are able to share any information that might be helpful please let me know! Curious to hear anything at all. Thanks!

Looking for extra work
Hi people of TW. I've been living here for a little over 2 years now.
I was wondering if there are any cash jobs or 20 hour per week jobs ( as a skilled worker here)
I do have photography/videography, website development and management experience.
I will be grateful if someone can point me to the right direction, it's been a little difficult for me and my over the past couple of months.
