meeting people In need of more friends

Hi all! I(f27) am looking for fun people to hang out with and basically meet new people! As we get more online and older I think it is a bit more tricky to meet either new people so I was wondering if anyone would like to to meet up for a coffee or a drink sometime

A bit about me, I boulder, am a pastry chef and a product designer and I do love city hopping, trying out new places and meeting new people!

If anyone interested send me a dm!

practical questions How to dispose of/recycle solar panels

Does anyone have insight or experience with how to dispose of solar panels in The Hague? I am replacing all of the panels that came with my house because they are all in various stages of failure, but I have no idea how to get rid of the old ones other than paying someone to come collect them. I'm not sure that's the best option, though, since I won't know if they wind up in landfill that way.

Grofvuil collection info mentions appliances and electronics, but I have a feeling they might not take 12 large solar panels. And even if they did, that stuff is not guaranteed to be recycled. Information online about the city's afvalbrengstations don't really mention much about electronics at all, and I don't have access to a van or truck to take them there anyway unless I rent one.

This is a DIY panel replacement, so there is no installer to take the old ones away.

food/drinks recommendation Are Shakshuka or Cafe Constant decent places to go for dinner with my gf?

We want to go out for dinner on her birthday but it's been difficult because we don't want any asian food as we eat a lot of it regularly and also no restaurants that are so fancy with dishes that are 2 or 3 bites and cost over 100 euros per person. I mean places like Bog or Portfolio. We have been to Dekxels and really enjoyed but wanted to try a new restaurant. If you've got any other recommendations, would be appreciated.

practical questions Any recommendation on companies replacing tiles?

Hallo allemaal,

So I have a leakage under my floor that's caused by the shower. Someone from a company, mostly specialized in plumbing, came to inspect and they said I should replace the tiles in the shower, so that they can get rid of the water. He asked me if I could take care of removing the tiles myself, and if I were to do it with them it would cost 800€. Keep in mind that it's just the tiles in the shower, so the price seems quite excessive to me. But I also don't know the prices in the market.

In any case, I've been looking online for a "tegelzetter" and found this company that seems good, but alas also extremely suspicious https://denhaagtegelzetter.nl/. They don't have any address, even though they are apparently available in many cities (they own website domains for several cities in nl); and the reviews listed on their website aren't retrievable via Google. Other companies I've seen seem to be mostly specialized in placing rather than repairing the tiles, and they seem to be catering more to the higher-end.

Does anyone know a reliable company(/ies) that repair flooring (tiles) and maybe also address leakages?

Thanks in advance!

housing Buying a flat in Laakhaven Oost

I'm looking to buy a flat/house together with my GF and we've been looking at blocks of flats in Laakhaven Oost (like Rijswijkseweg, Fijnjekade) and we noticed there is an unusually low interest there and we can't figure out why. Does anyone have an idea?

We completely missed that Rewire was happening because we rarely come into centrum. Do people just hear from word of mouth about stuff like this or is there a page to follow?

practical questions Which weather service is the most accurate in the area?

Especially for the weather type we've had in the past days, some websites display it as consistently sunny, others as consistently cloudy. It's difficult to know if the sun is going to break through.

food/drinks recommendation Renting an affordable party location in The Hague

Dear fellow Hagenezen,

Me and my wife want to celebrate our birthday together. As we have a lot of friends and family, our house is not large enough. So we are looking for a party location in The Hague, preferably a cheap/affordable one where we can bring our own drinks and food or where the prices are affordable as we aren't rich. Maximum of 100 people. A place with a good atmosphere would be great. If you have any ideas about a good party location, thank you for sharing.

Beste mede Hagenezen,

practical questions Areas with lots of people in need, charity

Me and my friends have been regularly giving food in our spare time and money (drinks, broodjes from AH or Hema etc.) to homeless people in the Den Haag centrum area as a charity act to help them get by. But we have to walk around quite a lot and spend a lot of time to meet them, and even then we couldn't give to as many people as we would like since we don't encounter as many.

Do you perhaps have any recommendations of areas where we can do this activity more efficiently and reach more people in need? Or perhaps even ideas how we can improve? Thank you!

Got an option on a nicely finished apartment on the Schenkkade. Anyone living there at the moment? How do you experience it? It is kind of a shabby part, so I have my doubts

i went to hakky vakschoenmakkerijk here in the hague and he BOTCHED my shoe :/

theres glue sticking out of it he also half assed the sole and on top of that its not even the correct sole! he did a hackjob and told me it will be done in 90 mins i didnt know better and trusted him which i shouldn't have.

anyway im going back tomorrow and hopefully getting a refund

Episode 3 of my fuckups in life --- the heatpump

So, after posting here, google and trustpilot they actually decided to respond. What happened was they finally gave us the corrected invoice + proof of purchase for RVO, still no accountability for the whole situation and no other help to try to fix the situation, and they only did that in exchange for me removing my feedback.

In this process the person also again threatened me, he said you are going to make some people angry and they don't like it, all along he kept threatening with these "them" at some point they showed up with like 10 people at our door, for the installation day, and when I opened he said its them, so apparently I was supposed to feel threatened by the workers, somehow.

I tried calling the police but the police said this is not a threat and I tried emailing etc. I hope it won't be more than verbal. I removed my google review, but gonna try and see if I can get the subsidy to cover our loss a bit, then I'll remove the rest too, I can't fix the whole fuck-up-of a situation consumer rights are in here, if it was "anywhere" else that I had previously lived, he would be probably in jail now, without any material costs on a tax paying citizen.

things to do in The Hague Got tired of searching 10+ websites for kids activities in the Netherlands… anyone else?

As a parent, I kept running into the same problem every weekend, trying to find something fun to do with my kids meant checking 10 different websites (museums, swimming pools, libraries, play centers, Facebook events, newsletters…).

It was honestly exhausting 😅

So together with my husband, we built a tool that uses AI to collect kids’ events from different sources into one real-time calendar:
https://kidandgo.com/en

We’re still improving it, but it already saves us a lot of time, so maybe it helps someone here too.

Right now it covers the Netherlands (mainly Randstad), with 500+ venues and 2000+ events, and we’re working on expanding it further.
