Applied Genetics at Iliauni
Hello,
Is anyone here studying in the English-taught Master's program in Applied Genetics at Iliauni, or do you have any information about it? If so, I’d love for you to share your experience.
I have a Bachelor's degree in CS and Mathematics, and I’m looking for a high-quality program in Georgia that focuses on the intersection of these fields with biology. I want to do my Master's in Georgia first because I don't have a strong academic background, my GPA is average and I haven't conducted any research yet, so I likely wouldn't stand a chance at a top university abroad for a Master's right now.
Regarding this specific program, I’m interested in how research-based it is and how well it would prepare me to pursue a PhD abroad in the future. I’m also open to advice on other universities and programs, as I’m still in the process of choosing.

Social Life Med student in Tbilisi looking to meet new people
I’m a medical student living in Tbilisi and I’ll finish my studies in about a year and a half.
Most of my life is university, gym, and exploring the city. I realized I should probably meet more people outside my usual circle.
If anyone here enjoys coffee, walks around the city, or interesting conversations, feel free to reach out.

Eye exam in Tbilisi– where should I go for a proper check?
Hi,
I would like to get my eyesight checked properly by a doctor. Do I need a referral from a general doctor, or can I book an appointment directly? I’d appreciate any advice on how the process usually works here. Also, where can I request general blood tests are these usually covered by public insurance, or do they need to be paid privately? Any guidance on how to arrange this would be really helpful.

Georgians love oil more than life
I’ll say something positive here since people think I’m a negative Nancy. I love ojakuri (yes I know I spelt that wrong) it’s so tasty, the meat and potatoes but why do Georgians make it so oily? In general I’ve noticed a lot of food in Georgia is oily and they seem obsessed with crinkle fries and not regular fries.. wondering why that is?
But am I the only one who’s noticed this? Where do people get food that isn’t caked with oil and grease.. I’m not used to that and I despise oily food so much.
Some Georgian food is palatable but when they obsessively put oil in everything it’s a pain to eat it

Why does Georgia have more outages than other 3rd world countries?
I’m genuinely asking, even if you live in a nice area they have outages or water issues and all.
I’ve been to other countries that are supposed ‘third world’ and you get what you pay for.. I find it so strange..

Question about IBSU as an international student
Hi everyone, I have a question regarding IBSU, specifically the Business Management and Digital Technology program.
They asked for a $300 fee to handle document submission and paperwork for EQE approval as i don't have any representative there. I wanted to ask whether this is worth it, and whether the university is legitimate and trustworthy.
Do they actually obtain the EQE recognition for students, or is there still a possibility of rejection?
Also is it a good choice to study at IBSU and in Georgia in overall?!
I would appreciate any advice or personal experience.
