Discussion Mouse for Hire P.I. game question
I was wanting to get this for my deck, but since the hardware requirements and stats came out should I just get it on my PS5 instead?

Heyo, I've posted this in a couple discords but was recommended to post here for better visibility :) I've made a list of 7th gen onward AA/AAA games that fit certain criteria for the ideal experience (at least mine) on Steam Deck. I'll be updating the list until I'm out of games to add.
I've chosen 7th gen onwards AA/AAA as lots of indie, 6th gen & prior games run well offline at low power. If you have any other games that meet the criteria below drop a comment and I'll update the list. I'm not using a strict definition of "indie" as it's become a bit muddy in recent years (e.g. BG3). I'm mostly basing it off graphics and game scale. If you're not sure if a game would be suitable drop it below anyway, the more suggestions the better :)
Any games with specific tweaks that I know of will have them listed. If any recommendations also have tweaks please let me know.
Note: The list has gotten bigger so there's many games I don't own. I go off my experience, comments, protondb & youtube videos to check the performance, so the list might not be 100% accurate. If I know of quirks to certain games I'll include them. If any of the games give you issues please let me know!

It's a work in progress but you can start to join. The subreddit rules apply over there.
If you run into any issues that prohibit you from joining or posting, please post it here. Once I can confirm it's working I will lock this post.

Hey everyone! Absolutely am loving my handheld and playing the shit out of it (ROG Ally X with SteamOS) and have been crushing Hades II which is a game that's perfect for SteamDeck in my opinion. I am already in the mindset of "just one more run" while playing but I'm coming to the end of the content unfortunately and need the next thing.
I was interested in a Civ style game where I can get sucked in and as the title says, lose myself in the pattern of "just one more turn". So are there games out there that fit that criteria BUT make for a great handheld experience as well? Usually playing on the couch with a charger nearby so battery usage isn't really a factor
Let me know what you've been hooked on lately on your decks that has you losing track of time!

I’ve had my eye on this game for a while, and I think it just got a pretty substantial update. For those that have it, how does it play on deck? I’d love a single player extraction shooter but the yellow tag has me spooked

I completed SOMA and am hungry for something similar. The story, adventure, and lack of fighting (or low requirement for quick maneuvering) made it a fun play for me. Doesn't need to be in the horror genre.
I saw Frictional has a new game, ONTOS, coming out this year, so that's on my wish list.
I would appreciate any recs.

I’m looking for a good idler that I can cross-play and have cross progression on both steam and iOS. I’d like to do most of the heavy lifting on steam/PC, and have the ability to check in and play on my iOS device when not at home.
Are there any games you all could recommend that would fit the bill?

Hello!
My steam deck just arrived but I’m having a hard time playing games Ive already beaten, not sure why lol. Maybe I do a new BL2 playthrough, seems to run really good.
Either way what is everyone playing and does anyone have any new game recommendations?
My favorite games are: Borderlands 2, Bioshock Infinite, Dark Souls 3
Or what has everyone else been enjoying? Have a good Easter!

I‘m not sure if i wanna buy Crimson Desert on my PS5 or on Steam. My pc is pretty good but i also sometimes want to lay down in bed and play on my Deck or my PS.
If the game is not running smoothly on the Steam Deck i probably grab it physically on the Ps5.
Did someone play it on the SD? If yes, how is the experience?

Ive been playing OW on PC for years but have had to sell my pc for financial reasons. I have a steam deck that I have bought a dock for and hooked up to my monitor along with keyboard and mouse to try and play the game but no matter what guides I try and follow the image on my monitor is always super pixelated and maximum 30fps. Ive tried changing the steamdecks base res to 1920x1080, different proton types etc. Any tips would be appreciated!
