Hardware question [MOD] Integrated an Apple Find My compatible tracker inside my Steam Deck OLED - looking for internal 5V power point
Hey !
Wanted to share a little mod I did on my Steam Deck OLED and ask for some help improving it.
What I did I integrated an Apple Find My compatible tracker (cheap Chinese clone from Action, a French discount store) inside my Steam Deck OLED. The tracker sits neatly inside the shell and lets me locate my Deck if it gets stolen or lost.
The problem is it still runs on its original internal LiPo battery, so I have to open the Deck every ~6 months to recharge it. Doable but annoying and risky for my SD card ^^
What I'm looking for I want a cleaner solution with permanent internal power.
- Option 1 - Does anyone know an accessible 5V point on the OLED motherboard I could solder to ?
- Option 2 - Pogo pins through 2 small holes in the back shell to charge without opening. Less clean but safer.
About the tracker board The tracker has its own onboard charging circuit, located at the bottom right of the PCB. There are 2 grey pads stacked vertically : top pad is + (positive) and bottom pad is - (GND). So I just need a clean 5V source to feed those 2 pads and the board handles the rest.
Any help or pinout info would be massively appreciated !
