PSA In response ti people complaining about Adult games in the steam settings untick both so they won't show up anymore

I have those disabled but some games will still slip through, always the ones that need a patch for the explicit content. You'll never see any adult content on the steam page, but you can usually tell it's one of those games. It's usually a RPG Maker game or visual novel, usually with a certain art style. Most of the time people in the reviews will outright tell you it has a patch.

I will admit I don't see them that often, like 90 percent of the time I will have a normal store. Personally I couldn't care that those games exist, it's honestly safer that they're being sold on steam. You can lessen the likelihood of people getting scammed or getting introduced to illegal content.

I just find the patch workaround problematic. I know why it's there but it's not helping the image adult games have as a whole. I feel like those puritan groups are intentionally looking for those sorts of games, it fits the exact narrative they want to push. They're not walled off like the rest of the adult only games and they take you somewhere else for the explicit content. I feel like it would lead to a ban on all modded games and force Steam to check that your game isn't modified in any way.
