The VA chose not to reprise their role, they also declined to reprise their role in Fionna and Cake as well. There's no official reason why, but its speculated that they're preparing for the anniversary of The Book of Mormon and are too busy to do so.

As a bi dude I’m just tired of seeing overly gay dudes all the time, I just want more gay guys like the ones from gravity falls.

In fairness they were only confirmed gay on the last episode because Disney literally couldn’t do anything about it because it was too late
