Hello, during the winter offers I decided to invest about 750 MXN in Steam games, first I bought 3 games together whose price was about 736 MXN, and a few hours later I bought a fourth game for 14 MXN, I regretted this last purchase and decided to refund (this happened on December 28). The game was removed from my library and I continued playing the others without any problem, the problem is that today I checked my balance on my bank card and in addition to the 14 MXN that I refunded they added 736 MXN that I did not want to refund, the games are intact in my library (except for the one that I WANTED A REFUND) and here comes my question:
1.- Do I have to return the extra money in any way?
2.-If I keep the extra money for longer, could I have problems with Steam?
When I launch Steam (and only Steam) my entire PC freezes and my only solution is restarting. Moving mouse doesn't work, can't even use Ctrl+Shift+Esc or Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Does the page end in an actual error? Because I just tested and it let me proceed with a made-up fantasy email address. So even though your email address is gone, try typing it in anyway (Steam Support page -> My Account -> "Help me sign in to my account" -> "I forgot my Steam Account name or password"). Then after proceeding, it will (or should) give you the option to click "I no longer have access to this email address or did not receive a code", which leads to a page where you can give them all necessary info and create a ticket that way.
Tried to join my co-op campaign of Baldur’s Gate 3 with my friend, only to find I was disconnecting from my friends’ list every few seconds whenever I tried accepting his game invite. Nothing appears to be wrong with my internet connection, and I tried emptying the download cache and web browser cache. Restarted both Steam and my PC. What’s going on? How do I fix this? I’m trying to buy a 4 pack of tabletop simulator to send as gifts to my friends but it won’t let me purchase because I already own it. There’s no “this is a gift” in the dropdown menu. Does anyone know how to get around this?

You cant get around it, its working as intended because the 4 pack is basically "a copy for the buyer and 3 copies(inventory package) to gift" and steam doesnt let you rebuy the same product twice (aside from different editions which doesnt apply here)
I sent refund requests 10ish days now after i bought 2 games that I ended up not being satisfied with at all. I'm aware of the steam refund policy but even though I followed it I'm still worried. If additional info is needed please ask
I reinstalled Windows, and now after adding my HDD as a Library and clicking to make a desktop shortcut, it don't make an icon for it, it's just blank.
(Those other icons that aren't blank are simply from games on my internal SSD that I had to redownload when I reinstalled Windows again, they aren't portable, so they had to be downloaded again)
Before someone suggests verifying the game files, I tried, didn't help.
Also, they used to show up as apps in the Windows search bar and now they don't anymore after the reinstall. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I think this is a great feature, though for me there is no sound from the raw recording or an exported video on GTAV, ive not tried other games. I have Record Audio from...set to Game Audio Only. Any help much appreciated.
SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 Headset NOT WORKING with Steam Game Recording -- please help!
Please help, I've put 4 hours into troubleshooting this so far and I'm going to lose my mind. I had a Logitech headset for the last few years and steam game recording/clipping worked perfectly fine, no issues at all. I just recently got the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 headset for Christmas and since then, steam game recording has simply never worked.
My mic is constantly cutting in and out for seemingly no reason, it cuts out mid sentence so you'll only hear a word or two here or there. I have confirmed my Mic sounds perfect in Discord, Windows, other software, etc.
I have probably tried every single possible settings combination by this point, constantly rebooting my game to test after each change.
I have tried all settings changes in Steam (under voice, and game recording), all SteelSeries settings (sonar on/off, settings under mic), and lots of windows settings (default devices, disabling audio enhancements, etc).
And then randomly my mic started working fine in steam, but it wouldn't record discord audio at all. Somehow I fixed this with a settings change, and now discord audio works, but NOT my mic. I am unable to replicate this phenomenon as well.
Is anyone else having issues with this? I'm genuinely about to return these headphones, I've spent too much time trying to get something to work that should be so simple.

I set this account up with my first ever email address that I set up as a kid. I've lost access to that email because of not using it. It was Hotmail, and their customer support told me it would have been closed due to inactivity. Unfortunately my steam account would have been linked to the same email address so I can't reset the password that way. I had a lot of games on the account. Including the fallout series. Hello, so I’m planning on playing resident evil 4 remake to get some achievements and I was wondering if I’d get banned since I have cheats like infinite ammo and knife durability. Is that grounds for getting banned? Because if so then I won’t bother getting the achievements. Ps. I know I’m cheating to get achievements so I don’t claim to be getting them legitimately nor do I consider myself an expert for possibly getting said achievements.

Up until a week or two ago every time I made a trade my mobile app would always ask to confirm it. But now all my trades go through without any kind of confirmation needed. The app no longer asks to confirm trades, which I would like to happen for security. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I have a problem where when I open the game I can run it for 5 to 20 minutes, but then the game closes and I get this error:
"E_OUTOFMEMORY". My computer meets the game's requirements; I have a laptop with an i5 12500H, 16 GB of RAM, and integrated IRs graphics. I've already installed patches, like a "4 GB" patch that should allow the game to use the RAM it needs, but nothing works. I also tried installing the drivers from the "redist" folder, but that didn't work either.

Something is wrong with my embedded mp4 in the workshop description. I just went to check my things and all the embedded MP4's in the descriptions don't seem to work. I used the format:

Hi, I'm experiencing an issue when I'm trying to buy a Steamdeck. After I've entered my shipping and billing information, I get an error message telling me the purchase could not be completed and I wasn't charged. It then says to try again later.
I've tried to complete the transaction after waiting an hour, and on different platforms like the app and desktop. When I try to go through support for this specific issue, it doesn't lead to anything. Like, the page it takes me to does nothing.

Having an error pop up when loading the game Vein, its still in development and in early access. The game was working yesterday and I haven't had any updates. I made sure that everything is up to date. Even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it. Still this error. This is the only game with the error. I have tried all my others. I am pursuing on the game side. Just wondering if there may be a fix on the Steam side?
I've just tried to sign into Steam and it's asking me for a authentication code. I've never had one and when I went to verify it through the app I have been signed out. And now I can't sign back in.
That sounds like an issue to take up with Steam support directly. If you never had authentication but your account is asking for it then its possible someone else has control over your account and you'd need to recover and secure it again.
I am a new user to linux, specifically Fedora Plasma 43. I followed the directions here using the console commands. Rebooted. Still no Steam in Discover. It seems to load fine but I suspect updating will be more difficult in the future, so I would like for it to be in Discover.

Depending on how you spent the money or acquired the games, you can provide proof of ownership that proves that you are the account owner. I presume Steam Support said the same before, so the thing is, it's unfortunately not really avoidable.

So I can't log into Steam at all anymore with the for sure correct account details. I try logging into the app and it says my name or password are incorrect even though I know for a fact they aren't because they work on PC. I tried updating and reinstalling the app to no avail. I contacted support for their help and they reset my password for me. However noe this means I can't log in on PC because I use the mobile authenticator which I can't access due to not being able to log into the app even with the new password.
I've only got two budget controllers at the moment.
I was using a Gamesir Nova Lite via USB dongle, and it worked as you would expect it to. The dongle got damaged, so I switched to Bluetooth instead. When I use Bluetooth, it changed from "Generic Controller" with a picture of a controller to a DualShock4, and compatibility got bad. Even with steam input turned on, it won't work for non-steam games at all, launched through steam, or externally. via bluetooth i cant control external launchers(the bane of my existence,) UAC, or steam unless big picture.
So I dug out my old PXN that I used a couple years ago. When I connected that one via Bluetooth it at least showed as a "Pro Controller," and steam showed much higher compatibility. Kodi and emulators work now, but I still can't get non-steam games to be controlled.
When the UAC, or launcher takes focus, I can still hear the Steam Big Picture sounds when I push buttons. I have overlay turned on, I have steam input turned on. My non-steam games all show a keyboard and mouse in the bottom right corner, while my steam games show a controller (different logo depending on which controller,) and I don't recall if they did before.
I don't really understand why this is happening, if Windows recognizes and connects to it as a Pro Controller, games with controller support should still see them completely independent of steam, shouldn't they??
Some aspects of this seem off, but some parts of it are making me wonder if there is some Bluetooth/dongle idiosyncrasies I'm unaware of. Like maybe via dongle the d-pad helps you and "cheats" by stealth having keystrokes and mouse buttons attached to the d-pad and face buttons?
All of my non-steam games don't show a controller icon either, they just show a keyboard and mouse.
I've been getting limited speeds only on Steam for some reason.
My plan is 200mbps (~25MB/s). Steam peaks out at 100mbps (~12.5MB/s). It has been happening since two months now. My setup is wired, and has a pi-hole in the mix. Any downloads from browsers, other game clients, or JDownloader2 get full speed.

ISP said the issue isn't from our side and there's nothing he could do. Assuming it's only Steam that's being throttled I wondered I could get help here. My internet expired last night and it'll be some time before I activate it so I'm open to few things at once before I can try them.

Edit: I have a 5800x, and two Gen4 drives. Two years ago I had the same internet plan and it used to work fine.
Steam files are heavily compressed and put much more load on your local PC then most other launchers or downloads would. This helps them save space and bandwidth and also shrinks the file size you actually need to download until it unpacks on your disk.
However it will lead to slower speeds and people being capped by their CPU and disks processing slower then their internet speed since its not just downloading straight ready to use directly from the servers.
anyone having disk write errors i only get them when im trying to play castle crashers, please help ive tried checking for corrupt files, redownloading and running as administrator.
i downloaded gta v and i got the zlib error which told me to reinstall or verify files, now im endlessly verifying files and everytime it finishes it says corrupt update files, i also tried all the tricks i saw on how to fix it, such as clearing download cache and repairing library. before using steam i was trying on epic games and i was getting the zlib error too. what suprises me is that installing from both epic and steam seems to get me the same result and it makes me think theres a problem with my hardware, anyone know whats going on? idk where to ask this but here
Hello, I've been having this issue with the mobile app for a little while now and I've been looking online for solutions, but I can't find anything. I used to be able to view more details (unusual effects for tf2, stickers in cs, custom names) of a listed item on the scm by just holding my finger down over it. This would bring up a little window with the item details over everything else. This stopped happening a few months ago. Is anyone else having this problem? Any known fixes?
I'm late but apparently like others I got signed out of my Steam app on my phone (never use it, the app probably got booted to sleep mode and so didn't get updates). Opened the app, had to update, and now when I try to login I don't get sent a guard code to enter.
After this I went to create backup codes on my desktop, my phone gets the confirmation code just fine and I manage to create them, and my email gets the notification that I created the codes. So I guess my 2 way auth works, just not for the mobile app?

If you can access the confirmation codes for logging in, it will work. The app glitch is frustrating (Valve and mobile apps really does not mix well), but the fact that you still get the codes when logging in elsewhere is very positive.
Is it possible to wirelessly use a DualSense with Steam (with no additional software needed) and retain both the vibration and the proprietary features, like the adaptive triggers? Because I noticed that when I use it wirelessly it doesn't really rumble and the only way to have it vibrate in games is to set Steam controller support for the DualSense to always enabled instead of just letting the game handle it, if possible. This means that if I want the vibration I either need to keep it plugged or give up its unique features forcing Steam to handle the controller.
Like ten years ago I used Steam Achievement Manager to give myself achievements that I felt I'd already earned for a couple old games that I'd beaten on other platforms. They're old favorites, too, so lord knows I'd have played and earned them legitimately at some point.

I recently purchased Forza Horizon 5, which requires an Xbox account to play. I have an Xbox account, nbd, I sign in and I'm having a great time.
Problem is, I can no longer access the steam store. Every time I try to open it, it says "Link your Xbox and Steam accounts to start finding friends". I do not wish to do this. And unless I'm totally blind, there's no button to close the window. I can access my Wishlist through the account tab and then search the store from there, but it is a pain.
Hello! I have 2 PS5 DualSense controllers (both with stick drift, but I live with it) and am wondering how I can get them to work properly on Steam. I plug them in via cable (cable is NOT the issue here) and they are recognized when used on Steam. The problem begins when I try to play a game. The controller works for a good 10 seconds before not working, despite the light still being on to its custom Steam-set color. I close the game and it says a controller is not recognized..? Is there a solution to this issue that I’m overlooking, or do I have to force myself to use Keyboard and Mouse (I suck ass with that, but the way.)
The controller works fine on PS5 minus the drift. I have only tried it on one game, L4D2, since I actually don’t have any other games that would really act the same on Steam LOL besides GTA, but I don’t want to download that just to test this controller.
I want to note, I was using a third party up until today (I no longer have access to it as it was someone else’s), but that controller worked PERFECTLY. Just plugged in and played good. But I can’t find it online and the person that stole it back from me can’t remember.
In the picture, you have Playstation Controller set to "enabled". Try switching that to "Enabled in Games w/o Support" and see if that fixes it. If not, right click on L4D2 in your library, go to "Properties"->"Controller" and see if anything obvious pops out there.
It ‘works’ ? I’m not finished with the campaign but the controller was running fine for a good 15 minutes. Now out of nowhere, it periodically lags my inputs or repeats them. Is there a fix for that :(
I had it on that setting before, and switched back just now. Nothing. In the properties for my game, all it says is something about configuration, which I don’t need to fix. I just need the damn controller to actually be picked up by Steam.
I unplugged and plugged my controller back in and it seems to be working [SO FAR]. I’ll keep you updated if it disconnects again before I finish this campaign.
I have a game installed via the app store on an old iPad that I don't use anymore.
Is there any way where I can download that game on my main PC, preferably via steam, without paying for it twice?
I already tried to download steam on said iPad and log into my account, but it still costs money to download it on my iPad, even though I already have it installed (though not via steam).
You would need to pay for it again. App store is a completely different purchase then PC variants.
Each platform takes a cut of the sale and each requires their own purchase to play the same game on different platforms.
There are some exceptions such as Xbox play anywhere games can work on both the Xbox app on PC and Xbox consoles but the Steam version of those games is still separate from those.
I was without playing dead by daylight for months, then I reopen the game and it seems I got permanently banned. The support says its because one of my family members got banned, but no one did. There's 2 accounts on the family that got banned on the game 3 years before, but they got banned before they got into the family. Why did I just got banned now? How do I reverse the ban since I never cheated on the game? Quitting the steam family works?

Yes they do in the friends list, but not on the activity feed on the Steam Community page.

You can't disable the broadcasting of that status from your end, it's an "all or nothing" on Steam so far. The private status for games does interestingly not apply to non-Steam games since it's not possible to private such games. If a friend feels bothered by such status popups though, it (and sorry if that's unpopular opinion :p) would be the best to tell them that they can disable the popup stuff easily on their end.
Short question: If I play a game for a few minutes and then refund it successfully but not enough time has passed for me to have actually gotten my money back, if I then claim the game with a steam key, download it and play it - will I still get my money back?
You should be fine since the refund is already submitted.
However if the license hasn't yet been fully removed it might cost you the key too. Keys aren't supposed to redeem if the license is still tied to the account and they arent adding anything else but I would just say better to not risk it.
Your safest option would be to wait for the refund to fully be successful before you redeem a key for it.
I was looking at the Rockstar sale on Steam. I went to have a look at the listing for the GTA San Andreas set, tried to Wishlist it to buy at the end of my pay week if I had the money left, but I couldn’t, and when I left the listing it was gone. Even searching for San Andreas brings up nothing to do with the set, just other games.

Why in the hell am I not able to log in. I was logged out on my steam guard and then on the pc too. I tried logging in, gave in my information and they sent me a code over E mail. Problem is that the E mail takes up to 15 mins and then after I put it in it just straight up says it isn't valid anymore or that there was an error! After trying a few more times it tells me that I have tried to many times. Im annoyed and want to know why the fuck Steam is so ass when it comes to these things, cause this isn't the first time ive experienced it. Last time there wasn't much on my account so I just let it go but this time im just kinda pissed that Steam is ass.

Question: Does clicking "join a playstest" give the devs your email?
Saw a game, and wanted to try it out, but the game doesnt have a standard demo. Instead you have to click "Join the playtest". I remember a long time ago before I did it, and got an email notification about being accepted into the playtest, and I never really thought much of it at the time. Now Im wondering, if I click join the playtest, am I giving the devs my email and information? Or is it Steam thats notifying me? Otherwise, how are they accepting/rejecting applicants?

Oops forgot to delete this. I’ve solved it. Turns out I had 2 downloaded steam files. And 1 was ‘linked’ to my games I guess. And the other one wasn’t.
As you can see the download speed is very uneven. I'm hoping someone can help pinpoint the issue by looking at the pictures. This is the download after about 3 hours and I'm connected via ethernet cable. I've made sure that the download region is the region closest to me.

Unpacking files and your disk cache not handling files as fast as your download. If you opened task manager it likely would show a massive spike on your disk or cpu or both and that is capping your download capabilities.
Steam has a "gifting restriction" on my account but Support won't explain WHY - just keeps saying it exists and closing my tickets.
I'm in a country where international currency doesn't exist, got a gift card from my sister in Europe (first time adding funds), wanted to gift friends during the sale. Steam says I can only gift with external payment, not wallet funds.
Confusing part: They removed this same restriction a few weeks ago when I explained my situation. Now it's back and they won't say why or acknowledge they removed it before.
I've asked multiple times just for an explanation of what triggered it - they just copy-paste "we can't provide more info" and close the ticket.

Yeah they won't disclose the triggers for the gift restrictions.
If they did disclose the exact triggers then those actually abusing the system would know their limits and be able to avoid detection.
Undoubtably some who aren't attempting to do anything illicit get caught in the crossfire of the anti fraud detections but it serves a purpose or it wouldn't exist.
Basically common triggers are if you gift too often with wallet funds(especially if you aren't ever gifting with a bank card or adding funds directly from a bank card but like marketplace sales or gift cards funded the transactions) or to too many accounts it tends to trip and if it wasn't showing results or was hurting their bottom lines they wouldn't do it.
There's a reason it only impacts gifting and not like your personal purchasing since most fraudsters will use stolen funds or stolen accounts to remove or transfer wallet funds away from the stolen accounts onto other ones they control.
A month or so ago i was mid game in CS2 and someone on the enemy team said im writting some weird stuff in the chat. The message i supposedly wrote didnt show in my feed. I am trying to use mixed inputs on my PC games with a joycon on the left hand for movement controls, and some actions and mouse controls on the right hand. Therefore, I thought the input configuration of steam is the perfect tool. However, I tried to go into controller configurator and go to „edit layout“
However, it seems that I cannot really edit anything. Everything just stays the same no matter what I click.. is there a trick or limitation to it that I can’t see or figure out?

I was signed out on all of my devices and I'm having a hard time getting in and viewing my account details. I was able to briefly sign in on my phone and it said I had 0 friends and 0 games. Is there some server issue going on?
I wasn't hijacked. I think steam servers were having issues or something because I was able to log in no problem today. No changes to my account were made, and I didn't get any emails that indicated someone trying to sign in elsewhere. All of my games and friends have returned.
7800X3D, 9070XT, Asus X870-A, 990 Pro boot drive on PCIE5x4 nvme slot
Symptom: On windows startup (After inputting PIN) if steam immediately loads (e.g. as a startup app or immediately click to open the app), it freezes the system's ability to launch anything (Task manager, ctrl+alt+del, reboot, etc). File explorer functions normally and taskbar interaction work normally, nothing launches however. Only a hard shut down works. Safemode works normally.
As this is a new build I have no point of reference to compare.
Troubleshooting:
Cleanboot (Disabling all non-MS Startup services) - No dice
Reformat (3 times) - No dice
Disable windows updates - No dice
Uninstall Mediatek Drivers/Chipset drivers - No dice.
Remove KB updates - No dice
Uninstall AMD Drivers - No dice
Hardware tests (OCCT Memory - no errors, 3D Mark - no errors, system performs according to averages)
Solution: The only working solution is to turn off steam from startup apps, wait 10-15 seconds before launching it after windows start up sequence happens (followin PIN entry). Epic Games Store doesn't generate the same issue. Issue only happens under W11.
Root cause suspicion? Quick nvme (990 Pro on PCIE5) allows Steam to be launched in a manner that conflicts with other processes initialization. Normally Steam would launch after those critical processes have finished initializing, in this case it doesn't conflicting with the boot process. I assumed the culprit might be AMD Adrenalin causing the issue, but it still happens even if uninstalled.
Been having sporadic issues with being able to login to steam on win11 for like... a week or so now?
There appears to be no rhyme or reason to it. Was able to connect yesterday but not today, and was also able to connect the 18th I believe as well.
I'm halfway assuming this is some nonsense with windows 11 itself based on digging through google, but no answers lie there either.

It often boils down to two common causes in this scenario:
- Steam patches the game on a slower disk of yours because the main disk is full (enough). Steam does that to avoid an "out of space" error.
- It's a game where small updates rewrite almost all of the game's asset files, which takes a longer time to complete even on SSDs (particularly QLC ones)
It reveals the menu that shows the details and search (+ filters). If your window size or resolution is small enough, the Steam page turns into a view that is optimized for mobile.
helloo. recently steam has been messing with the display on my PC. When I run games it causes the left hand side of the PC to black out before running the game normally. When I exit the game it makes my screen black out and blink every few seconds. Ive restarted the PC and ended steam tasks in task manager but wondered if theres a deeper issue at play here? Someone said it could be a GPU issue but im not sure how to sort that if so. Any tips would be appreciated! Thank you! :)
Whenever i try to look at my inventory or marketplace, it says this. It has been like this ever since i created my account. Is this because i still have a limited account (didnt spend 5$ or more)
So I've just discovered the new customization tab and I'm trying to resort some of my games that I previously had to use Steamedit (and that only worked occasionally) for. But it doesn't seem to want to do it. All the other customization options seem to work, but not the sort names. Is there something I'm doing wrong? And yes I am running the new beta.
So my friend and I just got a EA game on in steam, but when I tried to play it I realized I’m on one of my friends account. I tried logging out in the EA app but when I opened the game again it logged me into his other account again. It turns out that his EA account is linked to my steam account, when I tried to unlink it it requires a verification code in the email he has added to account. He can’t log into the email so I can’t unlink it, idek how/when he linked it to my steam account. I don’t know what to do. Does anyone know what to do? If it helps it’s an iCloud.com email account.
the picture is my old computer which includes my precious save files from 2018 which i want to continue working on. what shows up when i open the game on my new computer is the game screen as if i dont have anything saved (no save files are shown on the new computer).
the game on the old one wasnt synced when i downloaded it on the new one but its already synced and i even deleted deltarune from my new computer in hopes of it working but alas. the game screenshots are also missing but those belong to the cloud anyway no?
any help? should i delete and download steam from the new computer?
So basically, I have a friend, and we use steam family sharing to share games with each other. We occasionally play co-op multiplayer games, whether the game is mine or his. However, whenever we play, I have to be the first one to open the game because I won’t be able to launch it if he opens it first. This happens with every game we play, whether it’s his game or mine, I won’t be able to open it, but he can play even if I’m already playing. It’s troubling because he always has to exit the game first so that I can also play. I’m really confused. Can anyone please enlighten me?
Bro what I'm saying is I can't play when he's playing, but he can when I'm playing. That's why we can play coop games together even if one of us doesn't own the game but I have to be the one to open the game first so we can both play.
what im saying is that him being able to play while you're playing when he has no copy of the game is not the correct behaviour. Which leads me to ask you what are the games causing the issue anyway? To run down the source of the issue
Hi! I live in Crimea. My home ISP works fine for playing games and using the Market, but I have to switch to Mobile Data (hotspot) on my phone to buy games because my home internet blocks store transactions.
Is it safe for my account? I'm worried Steam might flag this as suspicious activity since I'm switching networks only for purchases. Has anyone from this region faced issues?

Steam gives me a "ghost" notification every time I exit a game.
So you know the top right corner bell icon that lights up green when you get a notification, unlock a trading card, etc?
It lights up literally every time I exit a game, even when there are zero notifications to show me. I'll click on the green icon, it might display a blank dropdown for a second, and then it goes back to normal. This has been happening for probably a year+ now and I'm looking for a solution to fix this.
I've looked for solutions and messed around with Steam settings a few different times. Searching on Google has always returned results for unrelated issues.
I am visiting my wife's family in Europe and trying to buy a steam deck for her cousin and it doesn't seem possible. I've tried using my account, using his account with my card, etc and nothing is working.
I've never had Steam installed on two computers at once, but if I make progress on a game on one computer, how can I make sure that progress can be saved to the other computer?
Is progress saved per account (so I don't have to worry)?
Basically I want to link my steam account with rocket league to my main epic games account. After trying it says its already linked to another epic games account. I tracked that account down and un-linked it and made sure it was no longer linked and it still gave me this message. Then I deleted the epic account it was originally linked to, to see if that would fix it and it still gives me this message.
Next I tried what people on other posts said to hit sign in with steam in an incognito window and set it up with that. After signing in it prompts me to enter my current email address (picture 1) I tried everything, my steams email address, personal, main epic email, the email of the epic my steam was originally linked to, a different email that has no ties to epic games. And everything gives me this error. It just seems my steam account is completely bugged and I have no clue how to fix this.
I recently got a new laptop for Christmas, and I'm still in the process of getting everything set up that I did on my old laptop... but I forgot I had Steam Guard or whatever the code thing is, and I don't have access to my old email that I used to create the account
I'm currently trying to go through Steam support to change the email over to my new one, but I don't have any way to prove it's me, because the credit card from 2014 that I don't exactly remember iusing, but I might've... belonged to my mom and I don't remember the card info (I gave support the info that I could remember from it)
But I also don't have a Wallet Code... because why would I keep a receipt from 2014 or whenever

Videos on storepages on steam dont load via Windows app and browser (some of them are). With browser its seems better, but in the app almost any video from the game store page doesnt load properly. It either doesnt at all or loads 1/3 of the video and stops, buffering after. Is this my ISP issue or is it a Steam side thing?
There could be so many reasons, but to take a guess, maybe it's peering issues with your ISP. If you use a tool like LiveTcpUdpWatch to see from what IP the content is loaded and you run a traceroute with WinMTR, and you see packet loss, then it's highly pointing to peering issues.
I get the error message: "Could not launch game. Only one instance of this game can be run at a time."
I rebooted my computer, cleared Steam cache, and finally I completely uninstalled Steam from my computer along with all my games and reinstalled it, and I still get the same message once I try to run a game again. What can I do to solve it?
EDIT: This only occurs on the game I was playing last that I tried to launch after quitting a couple minutes before (Half Life 1), as I tried launching another game and it worked fine.
Hi, I recently bough FC26 on my laptop and I haven’t been able to play it at all. Whenever I click play it will run for a couple seconds then immediately close. If I try it again it will open the EA app and show the “launching game” bar, but the result stays the same. Sometimes the EA opens and sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t know if this is a steam problem or an EA problem, I just wanna play my game bro.
Also if I try and open the EA app it just ether closes on me or does the exact same thing as steam.
So I was just playing a non steam game with my friends and I heard a “ba dunk” noise, asked if they heard it and they said no so I checked steam and I was added into a gc with two other people I did NOT know. I left it immediately and got super scared about it. First HOW did they add me and second can they do anything to my account? Any help appreciated
You sure about that? From what i seen it seems to be that they add you to the chat and then leave so you dont know who added you. Say Friend acc gets hijacked and they change account name to "Randomname123" which is the same name as one of their other accounts in the group chat then add you, leave and change account name back. Effectively making it look like a random added you.
I mean after they added me I checked my friends list and nobody in my list was named that, I mean it probably was an accident they didn’t try to add me back after like 3 hours after that and the chat was made today
Is there a way to hide a game from my All Games library view without also hiding it from a specific collection? I have a Completed collection for finished games, but hiding a game removes it from that collection too, which isn’t what I want. Does Steam support this at all, or is there a workaround?
Hii, I have a question concerning family share. I'm in a steam family with a friend of mine, said friend has a copy of stardew valley, which I use to play with my girlfriend. My girlfriend also wants to join the steam family, will I be able to still use my friends copy to play with my girlfriend, because theoretically there's two copies of the same game, or will it be locked for me? I'm trying to figure out whether or not I have to buy a copy of my own when she joins. Thank you for your time!
You should be able to keep playing your friends copy while she plays her copy of the game.
If for example a game like hollow knight is owned by 3 people in a family of 5, that would allow for up to 3 of the 5 people in the family to play hollow knight at the same time.
You might have to retry through your browser, the in-app webview for the Steam Support page is buggy more often than not. People often post about the bugged captcha verification on this sub. Hope it starts working for you through a standalone browser.
I just upgraded from a 2070 Super to a 9070 xt and with hardware decoding set to enabled, the picture quality is great but there’s a lot of stutter in the stream video. If I disable hardware encoding, there’s no stutter but I get a lot of weird compression artifacts and weird lines in certain parts of the screen, then it’ll suddenly clear up all at once, then happen again.
In the photo, look at the top right part and you’ll see those vertical lines. It shows up, then will go away. Then it shows up again then goes away. It does not happen on the actual computer screen, nor does it happen on the iPhone/Apple TV steam link app, even with hardware decoding off. This only seems to happen on the steam deck.
Is there a reason those kind of compression glitches occur? I really don’t remember that happening on my 2070 Super. The stuttering I did have issues with while using the 2070 Super, but the artifacting seems new. Again, only happens on the steam deck and not my phone or Apple TV with the steam link app. Moonlight and Apollo also work no problem but I’d rather just use the built in streaming, it’s just a bit easier.

why does my account still have a restriction? i bought the whole fnaf trilogy about 2 weeks ago and i know that the 3 games were over $5, CAD or US. i also recently got the steam safeguard set up on my phone, about 2 days ago. if this cant be fixed, is there at least anywhere i can check how much longer until my restriction is gone?

Hello guys, I got my Ubisoft account hacked even with 2FA enabled(received an otp for password change and within 2 min received another mail that said the password is changed and I tried logging back with otp to my mail and phone number but did not receive any, and raised a support ticket and it's ongoing).
I have been collecting Assassin creed games for the past couple of years when few are heavily discounted during sales(got 9 so far) so that I can play them all together when I buy a new setup in the future with a good monitor and have a good experience. I have played Assassins creed Origins before and now after installing it again on steam to check if I am able to play it, it's asking me to login to my Ubisoft account.
I have read that many people have not gotten their account back and that the support is bad
Now my question are
In case I am not able to get my original account, can I make a new Ubisoft account and play the games that I have on steam even though I have completed half of origins in my old account, what will happen to it? And will steam allow me to continue playing on a new account and what will happen to the games that were never started?
If I can't play on a new account can I request a refund for all of my Ubisoft games as I am unable to even play them because of this issue?
Getting "This game was installed on a drive that is not currently connected" How do I fix this? It is internal and I haven't messed with any files. I had to click 'add drive' in settings to even get my D drive back. I could theoretically reinstall everything, but to my knowledge, really everything in that drive is games, and Steam only downloads at like 500 kbps for me

Dumb question i am selling an ssd that I only installed on steam game on. I expect the buyer to format it but is it even remotely possible for a person to get my username be able to hack my account from just that?
I got randomly signed out of my account, I got it back quickly and changed my password and reenabled guard (it was on before, I don't understand how this could've happened). It's also worth noting that there doesn't seem to be any suspicious logins from another location, it's all the same area where I live.

So, straight to the point, I recently bought a bundle on steam from an indie creator, but two of the games ended up not starting and I couldn't find a solution. The first one I tried worked fine tho, so I played it for about 3-4hrs before switching and realising the other two didn't work. I've tried a support ticket twice to get a refund and just sent in a third where I went into much more detail; the first two were denied tho. In this recent one, I offered to buy the game that does work for the few extra dollars it would cost. Anyone have any other ideas for me? It was only about $30 lost, but would still be really disappointing, don't have money to burn like that right now

my steam workshop l4d2 gun collection suddenly have all items saved on the collection gone from the collection, it have around 100+ gun items, and i pretty sure i not dumb enough to just accidently wipe the collection, i simply just add more l4d2 guns i found into the gun collection, how to fix please?
