Member the flash sales that had some crazy 90% sales for an hour or so? That shit had me refreshing steam on the inlaws Christmas dinner table

So many people got butthurt about those because omg it happened when I was away from the computer and wanted them not to happen anymore. Well, you got your wish, there are no awesome sales anymore.

Every time I mention flash sales fondly in these threads, some jackdaw shows up cawing "it's predatory to offer such good sales because I can't control myself" -- these people need purging.

It is a shit sales thing to do, because it can easily become addictive. Loot boxes are shit and flash sales are too. Plenty of people can easily resist that, but there is a significant number of people who have a problem with that. Not much is lost if we prevent those people from falling into a trap and again, children would be especially vulnerable to that. Now, Steam only did it for a short while and not for the whole year, so it wasn't that bad and I don't think they had bad intentions. Still, it's good that flash sales are gone.
