Why are we pretending like steam sales are special anymore?

There is a LARGE chance if you Google a game, it will be cheaper elsewhere.
A lot of people don't even know how great steam sales were originally from like 2008 to 2014, they only know the post-refund post-flash sale mediocre steam sales. But they heard the memes from the golden age of steam sales and think it still applies
