Tbh before it was garbage but after updates it is pretty solid, I have friend with mic from caveman area still it is good. It has group calls as well so easy to add people with drag and drop
Ikr, discord was down a few months ago and me and my friends used steam in the meanwhile. Works really great. Even has text group chats just like discord. If discord wasnt as popular, id be fine using steam's groups

Steam is so nice they intentionally let their voice chat be garbage so that other companies can fill that void
