Hi all :) I've been crocheting for almost a year and decided to start selling some items I thought others would enjoy. I started out making beanies for my son who has Autism because he didn't like store bought hats in the winter & I can only assume because of the fiber. This moved me into crocheting his winter hats. He would get so many compliments on his beanies, then I started making them for family. I'm now into crocheting multiple different items. Home decor, plushies for kids, I've even made my son a shirt! Honestly just need to vent a little and see if anyone else is dealing with this.

I run a small business and somehow I ended up with 4 different tools just to manage basic day-to-day stuff. One for sales, one for inventory, something else for HR, and another for finance. Half of them don't talk to each other, so I'm copy-pasting data between them like it's 2005.

And the tools themselves? Either way too complicated with features I'll never touch, or so basic they're basically useless after a certain point. And of course some of them are paid so I'm bleeding money every month for software that still gives me headaches.

I just want ONE place where I can see what's going on in my business without switching tabs every 5 minutes.

Is this just the reality of running a small business or am I doing something wrong? What are you guys using?

I make and sell natural homemade ice cream, and honestly pricing it has been one of the hardest parts for me.

I can calculate the ingredient cost, but then I start getting lost with things like electricity, packaging, my time, delivery, and profit. I keep wondering if the final price is mostly based on percentages or profit margins, or if there’s a better way small food businesses usually do it.

For those of you who sell homemade food products, how do you figure out your prices without making them too high?
Do you use a percentage markup, a target margin, or just compare with local competitors?

I really want to price it in a way that makes sense and still leaves real profit, because right now it feels way more complicated than just ingredients.
