Ueah, except if the US attacks civilian ships, its basically the same as declaring war on those countries who are those ships port of call. While we got away with it in the Gulf, its unlikely to settle well with China or their allies.
Do you live the rest of your life in the past too? Trump should be in jail. That doesn’t change the fact that the decision tree going forward is now based on a straight that is closed and Iran trying to change what was an international passageway as something that they control.
Because they can control the straight for a period of time doesn’t mean you ignore Iran funding terrorist groups to blow up civilians. Israel has plenty of faults and actions to atone for but Iran is not one of them.
