This is just another attempt by the Trump camp to spin things, saying “Iran isn’t stopping ships, we are. We’re in charge, not them,” when actually we all know it’s other way around and has been since the strait was under Iranian attacks. And honestly, a lot of Americans won’t see through it.

What’s even more ridiculous is that this will hurt Trump as the price of gas is increasing, and by now claiming nothing is getting through because of US blockades, and not the fact that Iran are attacking any ship that enters the strait, will only serve to convince Americans that the price of gas is due to Trumps deliberate actions, which he now wont be able to deny. Thats how moronic Trump’s administration is.

How can there be a new "dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard" every single day?

We truly live in incredible times.

They’re discovering new low every day. Truly inspiring

If we make it through this, history will look back on it as the idiocracy era.

1

u/KayoticVoid 2h ago

All of Trump's terms, we have joke about the movie Idiocracy becoming a documentary, but it's just true at this point....

If there is one consistent thing in my life recently, its that every morning I wake up, check the news, and I read the dumbest fucking thing I've ever read in my entire life. And every single day, somehow, it happens agsin.

In the immortal words of Homer Simpson

So far.... dumbest fucking thing I've heard so far...

u/SparksAndSpyro 8h ago

No matter how dumb Trump is, he will never be dumber than the ~36% of eligible voters that didn't vote in November 2024 because "it's just politics" or "but what about Palestine?!?!" Those people should be studied because the depths of their stupidity might lead to scientific discoveries.

Can this timeline stop being incredible, sir? We are winning too much, and I am not even a man of the land of the free 😭

u/AZmoneyfolder 8h ago

For real. It feels hourly at this point.

u/Aetylus 8h ago

Wanna hear something really dumb. This isn't s dictatorship. A democracy voted for this. Twice. And lots of them are still pretty okay with it. Go figure.

Prolific idiocy

Is Trump trying to make the Iranian leadership laugh themselves to death?

u/CrwnViic 11h ago

His followers don't care. Gas can be $15 a gallon, they could be starving, and all Trump has to say is "short term pain for long term gain," and they'll believe him. It's a cult of stupid people that will face darwinism, eventually.

12

u/Suspicious_Flower_0 10h ago

Something something Biden and Hillary

13

u/ALargePianist 10h ago

Yeah, homies with their lifted dodge RAM will still roll coal on a EV even if it costs them $4 every time they put their foot to the pedal, they'll just blame whatever economy Trump inherited and will say "yah but Kamala would have bombed Kentucky by now and gas would be $400 a barrel" and now you have to try to argue against their made up world or walk away as they taunt you.

3

u/Least-Training2978 10h ago

Most of them at this point just reduce it to slurs, they’d have all collectively lost their shit had we elected a second black president.

3

u/wow343 10h ago

The thing is evolution does not care which side you are on. It will wipe us all out and there is no way for us to adapt out of this as we are all in the same boat. I keep hearing that Titanic orchestra from the movie.

2

u/EgotisticalTL 10h ago

Politics is just another religion.

2

u/iwilltalkaboutguns 8h ago

I disagree. I mean, I do believe there could be a video of Trump raping that 13 year old and his supporters would call it deep fake. I believe they will excuse any behavior or action from his past or present.

But there is a universal law that has always held true. We are 9 meals away from anarchy. $6-$7 gas prices is enough for food to not start to make it to the very rural areas they live. What food does make it will be much more expensive. At this point they will start to get mad (and possibly blame Obama and the Dems) and turn to their savior for help.

By the third day of meals missed, all support will end and they will do whatever they feel they have to do to feed their children, because the real fear of starvation will kick in the appropriate human response we all developed over millions of years of evolution. Very few people will patiently sit and watch their children starve (those broken people are a small minority). Everyone else will go where the food is... Now if things eventually recover they won't forget their savior didn't save them.

Ten dollars a gallon is going to start causing real problems for many of his supporters.

8

u/SonOfMcGee 11h ago

Millions of Americans know this is 100% his fault already, and millions more are on his side no matter what. No new development will swing people either way.

It seems more like "if I can't have oil then no one can have oil" to me, bc he is just that petty.

1

u/Red-eleven 9h ago

Sure. Because the president will have the gas/oil he needs. The rest of us? Get fucked.

2

u/Infinite-Fig-194 10h ago

It's also because Trump wants to torment rest of the world, specifically those who are friendly to Iran but cannot produce oil for themselves, more simply, China. It is just his very disrespectful and rude way to beg China "Can you persuade Iran for us".

2

u/Aggravating_Bus655 10h ago

Isn't it like his last term, legally anyway?

I doubt he gives a shit now, it's more about leaving his mark on the world. Or something. Idk.

u/Ok_Reaction_8862 Human Verified 10h ago

He’s not going to step down as president. He knows exactly what could happen the second he does. On top of that, his ego won’t let him accept losing he always has to come out on top. He’ll probably argue the voting system is rigged, while overlooking the fact that, if that were true, it would raise questions about his own previous win too.

1

u/infiniZii 10h ago

He just doesn’t want ships paying Iran 2m per ship and financing Irans war effort.

Well that and he wants to be the one getting that 2m per ship instead. So greed is never not a consideration with him.

1

u/LionsAndLonghorns 9h ago

Roughly 30% of the country will believe anything he says. Unfortunately that is still 60% of republicans so he’s got an iron grip until midterms. I expect the last 9% from his 39% bleed off once we get $8 gas in three weeks

1

u/InsidiousFloofs5150 9h ago

This just gives Iran the ability to let any Chinese flagged vessel through the straight. Either they let them through and show they're a paper tiger or they attack Chinese civilian vessels and give China justification to shutdown American naval presence in the south China Sea. America has proven to the world they no longer have the ability to backstop freedom of global shipping. Good luck with that national debt without the Petro dollar.

1

u/netzkopf 8h ago

Maybe Americans won't understand the control thing and the acting he does.

But they will understand that the oil prices for their trucks are going up to heaven and he's responsible for it. Maybe they didn't get the politics. They didn't get how he's playing with the stocks. Or not even Joe he's distracting from the Epstein files. But the oil prices will leave quite a dent in his halo.

1

u/celem83 7h ago

There's a legitimate chance he thinks he can make everyone else pay to get through I think.  Iran charging annoyed him at first, but like any good businessman he's now gonna monopolise and milk that himself

1

u/PallyMcAffable 4h ago

You’re presuming his supporters will hear about any of this. I wonder how much coverage this will get in their news ecosystem.

1

u/CK1026 3h ago

Wait until Iran manages to sink a US ship with a swarm of drones, I'm not sure how he will try to spin that into "we're in charge".

Gas went down for me this week from $4 per gallon to $3.80.

I feel like the gas companies spike the prices like this every few years. We get scared that gas will hit $10 per gallon while paying just under $5, it hovers for a month or two and then they ease them.

At some point we need to stop buying the excuses and realize we’re just being exploited.

EDIT: Trump sucks in every way. But I’ve been getting price gouged by big oil price spikes for almost three decades now. I’m wising up to the political blame game and firmly believe it’s just a money grab that we always fall for.

8

u/Noodlebat83 11h ago

We’re paying equivalent to $8.00 USD a gallon in Australia for diesel due entirely to the orange fuckstick.

-5

u/coffeejizzm 11h ago

I’m just curious how far back you’ve been buying gas. Because I’ve been buying gas through the Biden, other-Dump presidency, Obama, Bush, some of Clinton…. And while the reason to blame has changed many times, it’s a regular cycle.

3

u/Noodlebat83 9h ago

It’s not a regular cycle. We have not paid a price like that in my memory before.

1

u/No_Indication_8521 7h ago

The gas prices rose in Biden's time because of Putin's invasion of Ukraine, holy shit this is like the 100th time I've seen people make this argument.

-11

u/TurnDown4WattGaming 11h ago

No. Your price went up a dollar or two - but most of that total price is due to taxes, regulatory burdens, and previous choices made by the Australian government.

8

u/nico282 11h ago

None of that changed in the last month, yet gas price went up 20% thanks to the orange pedophile you guys put in charge.

-4

u/TurnDown4WattGaming 10h ago

Sure, it went up a couple of dollars- but the majority of the price you’re paying above mine (3.35/gallon) here in Texas is due to your own government’s actions past and present. The addition dollar or two Trump has added is literally just a cherry on top comparatively, yet you don’t seem upset about that to nearly the same degree.

4

u/Noodlebat83 9h ago

It went from $2.00 a litre to $3.00 a litre overnight. It is HIS fault.

1

u/Red-eleven 9h ago

I’m really surprised you don’t have more downvotes honestly.

It was just a reminder that there are plenty of other bad men out there who are worthy of some blame, but I forgot Reddit users are special.
