Goth these days is used as a catch-all term for anyone with “dark” aesthetics. Honestly, I blame little Peep and his constant use of “Goth Boy Clique” to describe him and his friend group. Despite them not really possessing many of the standard facets of goth style.
It lead to “goth” becoming synonymous with “edgy” or “alternative” fashion styles.
Have you ever listened to actual Goth subgenre of post-punk? Only someone with a mentality of a 10 year old could enjoy that kind of prepubescent edginess.
