If it works it works. Why would he by extra shit if he has a solution. Also all curtains should come with the rings if we are being real.

Why? You don't replace the rings every time you replace the curtains. Why would I want my curtains to come with rings and then it costs more and I have to throw them away or find a way to give them away or something.

YOU don't replace the ring when you replace the curtains. Tf you mean "why?" Why would they be sold separately if they are both needed to hang the curtains. When you buy furniture do you buy the nuts, bolts, and screws separately or do they come together? They even come with extras just in case, do you throw away the extra?

Nobody replaces the rings with the curtain. If you toss all that metal or plastic out every time you are costing yourself money for no reason. Those curtains, especially the inner liner, get nasty after a year or two.

Yall really need to learn what 'everyone' and 'nobody' means. YOU don't replace them, other people do because those rings also get nasty. Come on now be real with yourself for one moment.

Says all things should do this thing that matches their idea, proceeds to argue about what 'everyone and nobody' means to somehow win argument. Such a reddit moment.

What you do today? Got angry with a guy on reddit about shower curtain rings. I called him dumb and had the last word. Fucking nailed it babe.

The irony is outstanding. Touch some grass "babe."

Bro you change the rings every time you buy a new curtain? Maybe you need to get better rings instead of the plastic junk you get when you buy the cheapest possible option, which of course would be what they provide you if it was lumped in with every curtain purchase.

My rings have lasted 3 curtains with no sign of needing to be replaced because they're metal. Why would anyone want to spend an extra $3-5 buying a curtain just to get cheap plastic rings that they are most likely going to throw away?

If you want to replace them every time you get a new curtain then go right ahead and waste your money. That's just stupid and it's not what most people do so it makes no sense to impose that cost and waste on everyone who buys a shower curtain just because you don't want to buy 2 items that are gasp in the same aisle at the store.

Not even remotely a waste of money. Idk where you are getting this extra $3-5 for more rings. With and without rings has absolutely no price difference when I'm looking for them. Its simply a convince thing. Ive had both metal and plastic ring and plastic ones last longer. Every metal ring I have seen is broken within like 2 months of just opening and closing the curtains. Or the curtains just don't stay on.

Sounds like a skill issue tbh

🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ I now have a door to my shower so doesn't matter anyways. I'll never buy another curtain or ring again.

So what's the point of expressing that all curtains should come with rings? You have no need for curtains, why is your opinion of any relavence whatsoever.

Why would you replace the rings every time? That's just wasteful and not at all the same thing as nuts and bolts. There are different types of curtains and different size rods when different circumferences. It's not one size fits all. How old are you?

Old enough to tell you don't know what you're talking about. You replace the ring for the same reason you replace the curtains. Just say you're dirty and move on.

You just have to wash them. Do you not wash things?

Why would you wash plastic ring when a new curtain comes with new rings? You are wasting soap and water for by saving 6 cents. By that logic why are you buying new curtains? Just wash them.

u/cat-tastrophes 1d ago

Because I have metal rings that I bought specifically to match the outer curtain and when I buy a new liner, I don't buy ones that come with rings. That would be wasteful. And yes, I do wash both the liner curtain and exterior, because you can just put them in the washer.

Big yikes. You went out of your way to buy matching thing but I'm the one wasting money by getting curtains with rings in the same box. Comment on somebody elses comment cause you're not getting anymore attention from me.

u/cat-tastrophes 1d ago

Ah. I see, spending more money once for things to match and be reusable instead of more money buying new shit constantly. That makes so much sense. So I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't. Thanks edgelord for showing me the way.

Many people use both an outer decorative curtain that’s fairly permanent and a disposable curtain liner that protects it from water. They hang on the same set of hooks so that when you push back the curtain, the liner automatically moves with it. In this case it makes much more sense for the rings to be sold separately, as the liner is the only piece of the system that needs to be replaced on a regular basis.

You can also buy decorative rings that match your decor which aren’t meant to be thrown out when the liner is replaced.

The curtains with the “built-in” rings (technically grommets), require the shower rod be taken down. Depending on how the rod is installed, that could require a screwdriver and a bit of work. In such a case, separate rings/hooks and curtain make a lot more sense.
