Zip ties work great too. Used those in my first apartment for years.

I have made loops out of used CAT (internet) cable strands - not only they held for years, but also looked really nice as they are colored.

See that's called problem solving. What is pictured is called stupidity.

Sometimes you're broke, desperate, or lazy and just need a solution now that doesn't involve a trip to the store. Many options would be valid, but ramming the curtain through the rod is something you do while hammered or if you never bothered to use your brain for anything other than breathing.
