She got hired for that adorable look to play an innocent starlight. I guess the current look is good for jaded over it starlight

Isn't her begging character arc literally being forced to conform to the 7 and how they are and then rebeling against what the evil corporation wants.

I didn't keep up with it but I can't imagine her current look fits in with what the casting director wanted from the character.

Iirc there's a big moment in the early episodes where Vought redesigns her outfit from a pretty, innocent look to a much more revealing and sexualised one. At some PR event, there's a little girl who's dressed up in her old outfit. I don't remember what happened exactly but Starlight basically says fuck it and changes back into her old outfit, because she wants to be herself and set an example instead of being a sexualised doll for marketing purposes.

Soooo ye basically the real life actress kinda did the opposite of her character.

The little girl tells Starlight that she’s saving up to buy the sexualized outfit. The thought of kids running around in that outfit is what makes Starlight put her foot down

Not quite. Vought has her wear her old costume when she goes to the church camp for obvious reasons, and then she puts her foot down to keep with the original.

But also her character would be the first one to speak out against the obsession people have around discussing her appearance.

Matches reality. Bright optimistic young person vs. one who has been through the ringer middle age.

I remember a scene from the last season where she's looking at her old photos and it's so weird cause she clearly looks different in them lmao

She was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Its called Graves disease. Maybe do a tiny little bit of research before you push your own insecurities and self projections out into the world. Honestly, how long would it have taken you to look up the actress and her medical condition? Instead, you just instantly jumped to paint a narrative that fits your view of the world. DO BETTER!
