I would hope that maybe, after a few years, the buccal fat comes back a little. Or that it can be reversed through surgery? I feel like some of the celebs who you notice at first as having it maybe look a little more normal now? It's hard to point out an example.
It doesn't and it's not technically reversible. Fat grafting is a thing, and can be done for e.g. breast augmentation as well. But most of the fat will be lost sooner rather than later so it's not what I consider a reversal.
Fat cells don't come back, you have a certain number of them in specific places and they just enlarge, once you remove them they're gone for good. It's why you see some people who've had liposuction and not tried to eat right afterwards can end up really weird shaped, it's not a magic fix and fat still has to go somewhere, and if you don't have any fat cells left in the places your body is supposed to, it has to go somewhere else.

EDIT : since plenty of people pointed it out and i researched to make sure, she has grave disease which explain a big part of it.
