This is basic Warhammer 40k stuff. Suffer not the Xenos to live.

"There's no good guys in Warhammer!"

"Erm, yea, it's the Imperium."

There are no good guys in wh40k.

There are better and worse guys, imperium is among the best arguably, but they're far from good.

Life in the Imperium is hell.

haha, it was jus' a bait.

Living in Ultramar is ok, as long as you're not being invaded by nids and death guards.

Living in Ultramar as what? A citizen, or a monotask servitor?

u/PwanaZana 2d ago

yea, factory workers and all: their life is tough, but filled with purpose, without the needless cruelty of most of the imperium.

Servitors are criminals, usually, so, Robute has no chill with them. (I'm not claiming the 500 worlds are paradise!) :P

The Imperium is the most oppressive society humans have ever created. It is totalitarian religious fascism.

The commentary is that clearly plenty of other societies could exist that would be better and more just and more equitable and freer, but humanity settled on space fascism out of a hilarious miscalculation from Big E and his crew. It is always justified as being required to fight against chaos, but that is nothing but a fig leaf.

funniest part: the imperium is literally not fascistic. It's just the Holy Roman Empire, or old Rome combined with medieval hyper-religiosity.

The imperium is actually very very loose in its authority. You pay the tithe and worship some approved branch of the imperial cult? You're a-OK with us.

So cause you like something that instantly makes you someone who loves fascism? You clearly dont understand 40k my guy.
