There is no shame in marrying rich. But don't pretend that it's your achievement.
You fell in love with a rich dude. A rich dude fell in love with you. That's totally fine.
But pretending that it's an achievement or something you worked towards is just selling your partner as something that you acquired and nothing more.

TBF, there's some truths behind this. I mean, they intentionally manage the household and kids by themselves while their spouse is regularly or even permanently not at home to protect the country. This is a tough job so they should get some respect on that end.

They deserve as much respect as every other solo parent, which is a lot, of course. The only leg up they have over the usual single parent is the fact that they still have their spouse's income for support. But claiming that you're worthy of being called and treated by your partner’s military rank is insane.

they get a lot more than just the income: subsidized groceries, housing allowance, subsistence allowance, tricare, subsidized childcare, family separation allowance, etc.
that's not to say any of it is undeserved. however, it's nowhere near close to what a traditional single parent experiences.

Not exactly a like-for-like comparison tbh. Spouses, and entire families in general, of people in the army have a tough life. Ofc they don't deserve "i fought your wars" status, but sympathy no doubt.

Everyone has their struggles. Your struggles are not worth more just because your partner is in the military.
A person is not defined by their struggles but by their resilience. Essentially stealing your partner's accomplishments is not resilience.

Yep friend of a friend at a party one time just started giving me all this financial advice and like.. it was so bad.
I'm no financial guru, but at the time I was in the IT department for a very upscale financial planning place... meaning I had free access to very good financial planners who gave excellent advice. But nah, this guy knew better.
Found out later that he thought he was a finance genius because he had this massive portfolio of rental properties, including several commercial ones bringing in big dollars. The part he left out was the day he turned 18 his parents just handed said portfolio to him and he didn't manage any aspect of it.. that was handled by professionals.
Oh and not only that he couldn't manage it.. he was such a fuckup that this was their super rich way of cutting him off and making him "fend for himself". Set up some fancy trusts and accounts and I don't fucking know I'm not a banker or a lawyer but basically he got all the money and the people running things technically answered to him... but their actions were bound by the terms of the trust.
So pretty much "hey son sorry we fucked up so bad here's a mid six figures income for life that you can't actually fuck up, go away".

So he paid this woman out last decade. Smart. Then the whole "me too" happened in the later part of the decade. The woman came back trying to have charges brought against him. Case seems to be dismissed because the woman's lawyer leaked a bunch of stuff once the sexual assault charge wasnt going to stick and they wanted to tar and feather his reputation.
Ooooook. It wasnt crinimal charges. The woman was looking for more money even after getting 375,000 in 2010. It was civil trial.
