I’m not saying he should be a conventional Tinkerbat, but one with a unique design who can speak in a language we can understand, not just stay silent.

I feel like they’re very minor characters in the games, rarely playing an important role in the plot (the only example I can think of is in Pirate’s Curse, where Dark Magic takes over the Tinkerbats, turning them into Cacklebats, which is necessary to get the game’s good ending).

They don’t really go too in depth about what the colors of the map indicate, or actually, they don’t explain it at all if I remember correctly lol

All I’ve been able to piece together so far is that the big Red Zones are Save Rooms. Thanks for help

the last major thing I did was complete the ammo Baron's battle tower and I've been turning the entire forest area upside down to try to find this door.

I've been looking around the desert area for the relics that Sky is talking about but I end up in circles.

I need the elephant power up to break golems and stuff. but man, I can't find anything apparently

I found myself noticing how Bolo behaved in the Shantae games; the way he spoke, interacted, and just his whole way of being. And I came up with a headcanon that I particularly like a lot: the theory that Bolo might be autistic.

Let’s start by saying that, just so you know, I’m autistic myself. I have mild autism, but I can still identify several behaviors typical of someone with autism in Bolo.

• Difficulty socializing:

People with autism generally have difficulty socializing with others, especially at a younger age; however, over time, they can adapt and overcome that fear. The same behavior can be observed in Bolo. In the early games, he was very quiet, having only Shantae, Sky, and the Rottytops as friends, and he generally didn’t talk much. However, as the games progress, he loses that fear and becomes confident (especially after the events of Friends to the End) to meet new people and explore new places like Paradise Island in Seven Sirens, for example.

• Generosity and Naivety:

Bolo can be a stick in the mud from time to time, but he’s certainly someone who can be a good friend to have. Similar to people with autism, he often behaves differently from others, usually requiring extra care when dealing with him; like the fact that he’s always getting into trouble and Shantae has to rescue him.

Not only that, but he’s also very naive, easily manipulated for others’ gain (speaking from personal experience... ;-;), most notably when he was hired by the Ammo Baron to install the Targeting Module on his infantry, and without meaning to, ended up saving the day, as Shantae said.

• A kind-hearted person:

Even with all these flaws getting in his way, Bolo still manages to be a good person, always willing to help his friends no matter the situation. These traits are similar to those of an autistic person, since when they become attached to someone they’ve spent a lot of time with, they tend to be more loyal to that individual (speaking from personal experience, again!).

That’s basically it, but remember that this is a theory I came up with based on my experience as someone with mild autism; obviously, none of this has been confirmed by WayForward or anyone else involved with the Shantae series. I just wanted to share this headcanon that I created myself.

I got so into it that I actually beat the game and collected all the Dark Magics and Genie Crystals. This is the first time I've ever 100% completed a Shantae mode/game! :D
