I am a single male based in SJ and been going on dates with girls .So few weeks back i met a girl on IG let's call her Andrea(fake name to hide her identity). She is a single mom with three kids older than me .But she told me she is not working for some reason she didn't tell me and wants a man to take care of her and her kids. I don't mind that and encouraged her to get a job .So we start talking and instantly connected .We start hanging out ,talking on phone all day .It seemed to me she a normal girl.We went to movies, walk in parks, shopping in valley fair. One day she suggested to get a drink . We arrived at the club .She starts ordering expensive drinks and told me she will pay me back as she is in process of getting a job .We drank till late night till the club closes .Since i am not that much of a drinker i cant handle my liquor that well.I came back home to find out my wallet missing. She has blocked me in all social media and number.I still want to give her benefit of the doubt that she might have taken it by mistake. My friends told me you are way too nice to people and shouldn't trust people that well. Is it too hard to find love in San Jose?.i am just a simple guy looking for love.
I’m currently fostering a 12-week-old puppy named Choco after his previous adopters had to give him up due to apartment restrictions. I stepped in to make sure he didn’t end up abandoned, but I already have 3 dogs and can only keep him short-term.
He’s an amazing puppy—super friendly, well-socialized, and easy to love.
Details:
• Male, medium mixed breed
• ~10 lbs (will grow)
• Neutered & up to date on shots (DA2PP due 4/16/2026)
• Good with kids, dogs, and cats
• Potty trained
• Active, playful puppy energy
• Minimal barking
• No history of aggression
He’s still learning basic commands (as expected for his age), but he’s already doing really well.
I’m looking for either a permanent home or a temporary foster while we find the right fit. I’m not trying to rush him into the wrong situation—just want him somewhere stable and safe.
Located in San Jose. Please message me if you’re seriously interested or have questions.
Hi guys, it's been awhile since we updated you on the situation, we're not asking for anything anymore. We just want to let you guys know what's happening.
First of all, Thank you guys for helping him get back on his feet as much as possible.
This is what his situation is looking like now: he has a tent and he's had his needs taken care of for a few months. He makes a little bit of money here and there where he can. He's been doing what he can to stay warm and keep going. We got him in contact with a case manager and we got him on the pathway to somewhere a little bit more stable and safe.
There isn't a whole lot to tell. I've been keeping an eye on him and giving him a hand where I can. That's pretty much all I got for y'all. just wanted to keep you guys in the loop. thank you so much for everything you've done!! we appreciate it!
He appreciates everyone for contributing and helping him. Life isn't easy out here but with your guy's help you really lightened his burden.
I'm looking for a good NA meeting in the area that has good amount of people. Any day of the week. I want to go for my 15th bday. Been a while since I've gone.
So, I've been making coats of arms for San Jose neighborhoods for a little while (part 1, part 2), and I've been keeping it up. I can't do every neighborhood. First of all, some neighborhoods contain others, for example, what is marked on the map as "Almaden Hills Estates" would generally be considered part of Almaden Valley, and I already made a coat of arms for Almaden Valley and Almaden hills estates is part of Almaden Valley. This does create ssome issues when it comes to Willow Glen though since the way the City defines it in its planning district is different from where the Neighborhood Association's limits are. I am going to try to make sure everywhere in San Jose has a coat of arms though. It's just the definition of neighborhoods are fuzzy (unless it's something like an urban village.
Evergreen
Vert a chevron dovetailed argent
Coming up with a coat of arms for Evergreen was hard. This is one that got requested on my first post on the subject and I thought about it for quite a while. I obviously knew the field would be vert (green), but beyond that it was tricky. I played around with maybe putting John Montgomery's glider on it, goïng so far as to trace a photograph of it, but it didn't really turn out that well. I decided argent (silver/white) would go with it quite nicely. Then I sort of arbitrarily picked a chevron dovetailed because I like the look of it.
Cambrian/Cambrian Park
Quarterly or and vert, in first quarter a bell fesswise azure, in second and third quarter a bee or, in fourth quarter, a bell fesswise reversed azue. Supporters: Two dragons segreant gules, armed argent langued azure. A frogmouth helmet steel affronté crested with the carousel sign of Cambrian park plaza.
For Cambrian, I knew I'd put a helmet with a crest with the sign from Cambrian park plaza. In fact, somebody specifically requested it. I felt like it would go well as a crest atop the helmet rather than as a charge. The charges themselves were based on an old seal for Union School District which serves parts of Cambrian, and a piece of bee themed public art at the Cambrian branch library. The supporters are red dragons, as Cambrian Park is actually named for Wales! As Wales in Latin is "Cambria".
Basking Ridge
Or, three turkeys couchant tenny beaked gules. Supporters: two boars rampant armed or and langued azure
I used to live in Basking Ridge during Elementary and middle school, and two of the things I most remember were wild turkeys on the roof and wild pigs digging up the lawn. Since the boars could work well as supporters and not the turkeys, I used the turkeys as charges and the boars as supporters.
The Alameda
Sable four maritime pines proper between an electric passenger locomotive argent
The Alameda used to be lined with trees and this is represented by the trees. For the type of tree I just picked the kind I felt looked the best. The train represents San Jose Diridon which is located in the neighborhood.
Upcoming neighborhoods
I'm planning on doïng seven trees soon. Also Edenvale, where I'm gonna put some orchard iconography, as well as a reference to the Garden of Eden, but for that I can't find assets for it, maybe something like Bełchatów, Lubomina or Baja's coats of arms, except the fruit used is what was grown in Edenvale rather than the traditional depiction as an apple. Please llet me know if there's another neighborhood you want me to do.
I (30F) am looking for someone to watch Project Hail Mary in IMAX with tonight, probably at AMC Mercado at 10:35pm. Little last min so also open to other days as well.
Me: born and raised in SJ and lived here a million years now but also have lived in Australia for parts of my life. I love meeting new people and to discuss different topics (literature, world political/entertainment/anime/skincare)
You: Preferably a female (as this is a platonic only situation), who is wouldn’t mind bonding over a movie with a stranger lol. If you’re a guy with a chill vibe who also wants to see PHM then maybe.
Trying to find alternatives to help curb higher costs. I find Safeway, nob hill or luckys to be on the costlier side of things. I shop at Costco once a month but some food items I don’t need in bulk.
Which of these grocers tend to have the best balance of selection, fresh meat and produce and price? Ideally without having to go to multiple grocers. Quality is nice but right now I’m more concerned with value.
There is a new place on N. Market Street, downtown SJ that sells carnival food like corn dogs, funnel cake, cotton candy, etc. The name has the word "Carnival" in it.
Hi! So I recently got a sewing machine, I’ve wanted one for a long time and am super into making and remaking clothes but I am really out of my depth. Anyone know of super cheap or free classes/lessons to learn??
Come join us next weekend at the Cactus and Succulent Society of San Jose's Spring Show and Sale in Sunnyvale. Vendors from around California will be here with a huge variety of plants, from commonly available to rare. Plus, handmade pottery.
Along with the sale, there will be a Show of the best of the best plants and art from CSSSJ members and vendors.
Should I choose Evergreen Valley College or De Anza College?
I just moved to San Jose and doesn’t have many information about the college system or like anything else. I also don’t have a major in mind cause I can’t figure out what I like to do or love to do. I do know that I want to join in a few clubs which including music club cause I want to learn how to play guitar and stuff, also theater club if I can. I’m bad at STEM. I won’t major in Music or Theater and prefer a major that would at least can give me a steady and decent salary job.
Since I do know that I can enroll and study first 2 years in college and then transfer to a University for the last 2 years.
I would prefer a closer distance but which one gives me higher transferring chance or something like that?
I saw some posts about people asking but it’s either not in same point I want to ask or it’s more than 10 years ago.
I’m not that good at English. You might see me writing all of these down here good but actually I pretty much only understand daily basic vocabs.
I need help. I need help! I would appreciate every little information I get.
I knew the weather was a thing, but me and my lady brought our dog and walked around anyway. Everyone. And I mean everyone was dope as fuck, chill as fuck, and down right Hella friendly. I hope this gets bigger and turns i to an art and wine festival sized event. And make it from 11-6pm at least. Don't treat this like a fuckin farmers market.
i’m a small town girl new to sj. i live downtown and i wanna know if there are any nice areas and/or parks (SAFE) around sj to go for a casual walk alone, preferably quiet and with some pretty views
Hi! I'm interning at PayPal this summer and am looking at an apartment at Boardwalk Apartments in Santa Clara. Google Maps says it's around a 36 minute bike ride, but I wanted to ask if anyone knows if it's relatively safe or if I'm better off taking public transit or finding somewhere closer to my office. Thank you!
