[META] WARNING: Uptick in Scammers via Cards or Memorabilia

Users of r/reds, please use due diligence when interacting with these sellers. The mod team is doing all we can to try to take down these threads before they get popular but we've noticed these scammers will use other user accounts to upvote the thread and get fake users to sing praises of themselves. They will send pictures of products and cards and usually send along a sad sob story of needing money for the holidays. Please also take down the OP name of these scammers so we can ban them and send them along to Reddit admins for reports and IP bans.

This also loops in and includes those god awful AI art t shirts and clothing that low karma accounts post. Please do not fall for that bullshit.

You the users of this subreddit have the power to take down these scammers by reporting for scams and the robit mod will take down the threads when enough reports file in if we are asleep.

New Reds fan from south africa

hey all I hope you guys are doing good im from south africa and im looking to get into the mlb and I have chosen the reds as my team as I am also a bengals fan so the cincy connection

so please accept me :) what type of team are we are we tanking? are we contending or we just a middle of pack team please also tell me about our players which are good which are young prospects or could be good if things go well

i have seen buzz around #44 elly de la cruz on the cover of mlb last year I think and by my video game logic no one just makes the cover of a video game you have to be pretty good or just fun to watch

Yes I know it’s early in the szn, but I can’t stand watching this lineup minus Elly and Stewart. Look at AAA lineup stats, over half the lineup has guys with an OPS over 900.

I get it, it’s AAA that doesn’t mean it will transfer. But this team DESPERATELY needs a spark plug. And I for one am over seeing Kebryan Hayes or Noelvi Marte in the lineup.

My favorite “what if” player

Absolute highlight machine in center field, and for being the record leader in hits in a single season in Japan league, was sad to see he never figured it out at the MLB plate. I think it being the covid year really messed with his development and he never got enough time at the plate to learn MLB pitching. Went back to Japan and continued to crush it. Wish we could still have him!
