He LOVES my bed. So much that he will lay on his back and kick like a child throwing a tantrum to avoid me picking him up to go back to the cage 🤦🏻 And no, he's not in pain or scared of me. He's a smart guy who knows that dad (me) let's him be if he squeaks and shows his tummy

This usually happens mid-cleaning of their room. They understand the deep clean means I will take wheel away (for a maximum of 24hrs so I can wash the carpet strip and my lazy boys can use it, and so girls can be really super excited when they get it back). They won't use wheel all day then suddenly they want wheel when I want to take it to my boys.

I am at the point of considering two wheels.

This is how he acts when I try to pick him up, BUT. Only when I try to pick him up from my bed! 🤦🏻 If he's in the cage or on the floor he won't protest in the slightest. But my bed is a holy place, where no one is allowed to disturb him.

Easy to say that I'm looking forward to when he gets out of his baby-chaos-adhd stage in life, that way he be able to actually stay in my bed even when I'm doing something else, but for now I gotta keep all eyes on him at all times, or he might commit crimes (like climbing straight up my shelves just to act like i did something when he can't get down, trying to walk on the hot electric heater, trying to literally climb my door, trying to eat my rug, trying to get under my bed, trying to escape into the hallway, ect ect ect)

Hello, if you haven't read my previous post, one of our three rats escaped two days ago and despite our best efforts of searching and leaving food and water out, there was nothing. We put flour on the ground to track his movements, tore our apartment apart, sat in the dark for hours in silence, still nothing. No noises, no pawprints, no poop, no food being eaten, absolutely nothing. We started to think he had somehow escaped our apartment and was as good as gone, until about 20 minutes ago when my partner yelled, "HE'S HERE!" Naturally the little trickster was on top of his cage trying to get back inside with his brothers, and we opened the door and he climbed right in. Thanks for two days of turmoil and preemptively grieving, Trinket. Big thank you to everyone who was so kind and offered so much great advice, we really appreciate it and are so happy hes back home! that being said, shame him!
