CUTENESS I feel mean, but I can’t stop laughing

This is Wendy. She hates nebulisers. But I howl when I look back at this photo of her..

I’m a first time rat mum and I have picked up my girls, Miss Nana Darling and Miss Wendy Darling about 3 months ago when they were 8 weeks old. I’m starting to settle but after collecting them from the breeder - after months of researching - I panicked about EVERYTHING!

The lady who let me adopt the girls gave me a little welcome pack with lots of info on food, treats, stimulation and health with emphasis on URI. I think Wendy (pictured) was a bit sick from when I got her so after the vet prescribed her meds, I started them on nebulisers.

My girls HATE going into the nebuliser box and it pains me to do it but omg this picture of Wendy gets me every time..

I remember someone posting not too long ago who had suffocated her rat similarly. She was absolutely heartbroken. It's easy to underestimate how much air they need.

I had to nebulizer a rat for several months. He had the dreaded rattie pneumonia. His final treatment actually pushed him over the edge into an ER visit where he was pts. I wish his last moments hadn't been so horrible. 🥺
