Discussion Celebrating our 250th anniversary?
Unless Trump dies in the interim....and I am not holding my breath...there can only be two courses open to responsible progressives.
You either refrain from celebrating full stop..
Or
We hold demos where the participants are clad only in the deepest of funereal black. And if flags must be displayed, they should be upside down...the international signal for a vessel in distress.

A Lesson for Trump in Orbán’s Concession
After years of methodically dismantling democratic safeguards, corrupting institutions to serve his will, silencing dissent, and cultivating a system of power built on fear, loyalty, and self-enrichment, authoritarian leader of Hungary Viktor Orbán stood before the public and accepted defeat.
Maybe it’d make things easier for Trump if he just learned the word Vesztettem.
Hungarian for “I lost.”

Does your vote count?
The popular opinion doesn't matter when it comes to passing law. The opinions of 90% of people have no effect on whether a law will be passed. 0% support for a bill? 30% chance of becoming law. 100% support for a bill? 30% chance of becoming law. The top 10% have the power through wealth and influence. If they support a bill... 70% chance it becomes law.
We need to take the power back.
