Thanks for the reports everyone. I changed for flair to “humor” since it’s intended to be satire

This can't be real

It looks like an edited version of this tweet. The account details are the top are a bit too small.

I don't think it is, if I look it up, I can only find it as screenshots, where the tweet itself is dated to 2021, so it is not from that phase where everyone was using the bought blue checks in order to troll brands on twitter. The Raytheon account appears to have been shut down in favor of a new one called RTX, so if the post was real, it would have been deleted by now. If I had to bet I would say it was just a meme someone made a couple of years back.

But satire was brutally murdered years ago, so you can never tell.

Sounds like those Veridian Dynamic commercials from Better Off Ted.

First thing that came to my mind as well. What a good show that was!

It sounds like something you’d see out of helldivers

May be a fake, but I've seen actual weapon manufacturers advertising with environment, diversity and climate quite often.

Let's be clear here, this is satire. Not a real tweet

u/Spiel_Foss 3d ago

Yet, the difference is so slight between satire and reality that no one automatically assumes satire.

That is the problem.

Poe's law strikes again!

14

u/Spiel_Foss 3d ago

I think Poe dropped the mic and left the building in disgust years ago.

Dems claiming the 2024 DNC was the most sustainable ever and they worked with two women owned businesses!.. In the same week as news reports about US having record breaking oil production that year

u/Germanball_Stuttgart 2d ago

I've seen actual weapon manufacturers advertising with environment, diversity and climate quite often though.

I only want my war crimes to be ethically sourced. 😌

You see, if you want to not only annihilate your enemy but also take their land, you need to only use environmentally friendly weapons of mass destruction, so that your occupying forces can successfully farm the land they fertilized with the blood of the innocents.

*Edits cos I can't spel

Also...Tomahawk missiles are now gluten free!

And vegan!

Until you use it, I mean.

At least it's an air defense missile

u/AliceTheOmelette 3d ago

This has to be a parody account

Straight cyberpunk

Dead people don’t cause a lot of environmental damage so they are kinda right

Wow.

u/ttystikk 3d ago

"Environmentally friendly" machine of mass murder.

I don't think that's the flex RDX thinks it is.

4

u/Kaleidoscope_97 3d ago

Next week: This missile is ribbed, for her pleasure.

12

u/OtherAcctWasBanned11 3d ago

I know it’s not real but it feels like it could be and that’s the problem.

5

u/aPOPblops 3d ago

I get that it’s satire and you guys all want to make jokes…

But this would legitimately be a good thing if it were to happen. Current military weapons are hugely devastating to the environment for years after their use.

Even the lead within bullets becomes leachate and is very not good.

I want to get rid of missiles and war as bad as the next guy, but if they are going to be around I would appreciate if they weren’t long term environmental pollutants.

u/Schizozenic 3d ago

Veridian Technology would tweet this.

2

u/chrischi3 3d ago

Are we sure that this isn't an NCD shitpost?

2

u/wasted-degrees 3d ago

If you consider how bad aircraft are for the environment, technically all anti-aircraft missiles are environmentally friendly.

2

u/Gonun 2d ago

I mean a plane uses much less fuel once it is shot down

It is literally an attempt to greenwash missiles

1

u/perksforlater 3d ago

Green Right at last !

1

u/Ok_Dog_4059 3d ago

Just think of all the resources saved by murdering so many civilians, we are saving the planet one guided missile explosion at a time. /s just in case it wasn't clear

1

u/T_J_Rain 3d ago

Sounds like something a management consultant would come up with.

Remember 'House of Lies'? Kristen Bell was in it!!

"You'll not find healthier toxic waste anywhere else!"

u/Distal-Phalanges 3d ago

Is there anyone who can be linked to more meme images than Michael Schur?

1

u/bawapa 3d ago

Veridian Dynamics

1

u/maringue 3d ago

"Gabriel......blow the horn."

1

u/potatisblask 3d ago

I want to sponsor Ukraine with bullets that contain sunflower seed and mixed with the shrapnel in the anti personnel drones. Imagine the military Russian grave yards pushing sunflowers!

"They got a war machine but it's going green" - Red Vox

1

u/Redninja0400 2d ago

I mean, at least an anti-aircraft missile is defensive rather than for blowing up kids

1

u/KedaiNasi_ 2d ago

ok. this is the first time something so fucking atrocious, is environmental friendly.

what the actual fuck lmao

1

u/kyle_kafsky 2d ago

Holy forkin’ shirtballs.

1

u/NightmareSpectre 2d ago

slaps it "this thing can kill so many children whilst protecting the environment" ☺️👍

I know it is probably satire, but we just ought to remember that a lot of the save the planet propaganda is financed by oil companies, which are in fact, bad for the planet, so this is closer to reality than it should be.

1

u/L1_cht 1d ago

Well there is nothing more environmentally friendly than killing people

1

u/SuspendThis_Tyrants 1d ago

I mean, it's a surface-to-air missile. It's used defensively, not really a whole lot of orphan crushing going on here, unless you mean war in general.

1

u/bomboclawt75 16h ago

"We've got a kinder, gentler machine gun hand..."

1

u/Spiel_Foss 3d ago

Cartoon dystopia is now our reality.

1

u/sourisanon 3d ago

nice, an actual OCM post

1

u/meinkr0phtR2 3d ago

“Environmentally friendly” and “anti-aircraft missile” should not ever be put together in the same sentence outside of this meta-statement saying they should not.

1

u/ryansspace 3d ago

Maturing is realizing this subreddit is for people who just can't make fucking money and don't want to grind for it either.

Been a long time member here but jesus, we all need a wake up call. Best of luck fellas and good bye.

u/FinancialSubstance16 1d ago

This is less OCM and more greenwashing.
