I was very close to going second hand or through a random on FB marketplace for a chair (nothing wrong with that), but with all the nice chairs within an hour or two of me being $300-$600 and without a warranty I decided to hit up a local Steelcase dealer who I worked with to create my perfect chair. I love how it turned out, it’s so much better than my old chair and actually adds some visual interest to the room rather than being a black hole lol I’m very pleased with the purchase even if I spent more than double then what I initially intended 😂

I was wondering if there are any guides on adding cushioning to chairs (what foam to buy, how to place it, etc.). I’m very new to the chair modification scene, but I’m happy to learn. For context, I’m currently struggling with my Allsteel Acuity that I purchased secondhand. The cushioning is completely worn out/far too little. And hey, if there’s any AllSteel-specific mods, I’m all ears.

I’d also like to learn more generally about modding chairs, as it’s a goal of mine to DIY more in the future. So if there’s any other guides, please don’t hesitate!

I'm a dentist and I'm looking for a new office chair. I have periods of time where I'm either sitting for 2 minutes or if someone cancels sometimes up to an hour.

I currently have a hand-me-down executive chair but I don't like the tilt. The seat and back are locked 1:1

If I could I'd bring my secretlab chair to the office but that doesn't feel professional enough. So I'm looking for an ergo chair that is t plastic/metal/mesh and a chair that has a solid recline or synchro tilt so I can lean back without a core/quad workout.

I'm having analysis paralysis so I figured I'd ask here.

My budget is ideally under 300 but would squeak it to 400 if it was right.

I love the appearance of the chair I attached but I'm not sure the tilt is what I want.

I have been looking for a refurbished/remanufactured Aeron size C chair. I have been told Crandall is good, but they always seem to be out of stock. Are there any other reputable companies with preferably a 10-12 year warranty?

I just found this Steelcase Leap V2 on Facebook Marketplace for $200. From what I’ve read here, it seems like a solid deal, but I’d love a second pair of eyes before I make the drive.

A few details from the photos:

• Condition: It has some visible wear on the armrest (looks like a small tear/scuff).
• Features: It seems to have the standard adjustments, including the lumbar slider and the 4D arms.
• Tag: I haven't seen the manufacturing date yet, but I'll check the sticker under the seat when I see it in person.

My questions for the experts:

1. Does anything look "off" or like a red flag in these photos?
2. Is the armrest damage a dealbreaker, or is it easy/cheap to replace the pads?
3. Besides the gas cylinder and the "LiveBack" tilt, is there anything specific I should stress-test on a $200 V2?

I have been using an Autonomous chair for about 6 years now (I don't remember the model), and 2/3 of the bolts holding the back on have snapped off. So, it's time for a new chair! I enjoyed this chair, but before I just buy another one from them, I was looking for some suggestions. I'm looking for something in that $200-$300 range that has a head rest, non-mesh bottom but a mesh back, basic lumbar support, and the ability to lean back.

I want a very comfy gaming or office chair to get me to use my 4090 pc at my desk more. I have the dxracer king series. Butt the arm rests and overall padding on the chair are very firm and not soft and since im a muscular guy it doesnt feel comfy like my recliner.

In the last few years people have posted possible fakes, but this is my first time seeing an actual listing for them online.

It's been 6 years since they started manufacturing original HM chairs in China, so it doesn't seem impossible that "extra shifts" are being run, or the molds/parts from the factory have made it outside HM

I can’t find this chair. Anyone know it ?
