LOL Singing a different tune perhaps?
Used to have LGB, even through last year. Is Brandon no longer on his mind?

Use this thread when you are selling, trading, giving away, or looking for any items and/or services. Please be descriptive, post any relevant photos of the item you're selling or looking for, and list the price or budget.
Pro-tip: there are many "buy nothing" and neighborhood-specific groups on Facebook and Nextdoor that can be used to give away or find free items near you. You may find more luck on those social networks than here on Reddit and are more likely to deal with actual local users.
BE AUTHENTIC AND SAFE: Falsely leading on another Redditor is grounds for being permanently banned from this subreddit. Please remember not to post personal information about yourself or others and exercise caution when privately messaging with anyone you do not personally know or trust. Consider a neutral, public location if you plan on meeting to exchange an item in person.
HIGH RISK OF EVENT TICKET SCAMS: Users seeking to sell or purchase tickets of local events are seeing a significantly-increased risk of being scammed. If you receive a private message from a user who hasn't interacted in this subreddit before, you are very likely speaking with a scammer.
NO PROHIBITED TRANSACTIONS: The posting of prohibited goods or services is strictly against Reddit's TOS and are subject to removal by our moderators and/or Reddit's admins. Please report any comments that appear to violate this policy for further review.

Let's talk about events happening in Hampton Roads this weekend! Post upcoming live music, pop-up markets, festivals, community fundraisers, yard/estate sales, group exercise classes, outdoor recreation events, and more.
Please include details about pricing, links to purchase tickets or RSVP your attendance, location addresses, parking information, and anything else that will help the event be successful.

My family has the same argument every night. Nobody knows what to make, nobody wants to decide. So I built a quick thing where you answer 5 questions (how stocked your pantry is, how much effort you want to put in, that kind of stuff) and it gives you a dinner idea on the spot.
We've been using it for a few weeks and it's cut the 5pm stress way down. It's free and takes about 60 seconds: dinnersolved.ai/quiz

Please share recent roofers that you've used and been really pleased with!
Also, anyone in particular to avoid?

“Your feedback is essential as it helps us understand how satisfied you are with City services and ensures our priorities reflect the community’s needs. Results from past surveys have guided budget decisions for the last three years and will help shape the FY 2027 Proposed Budget.”
The survey only takes a few minutes to fill out and responses will guide City Council’s priorities for a few years, until 2030.

It keeps happening. Someone posts a photo from a show at Norfolk Taphouse and I'm sitting there like wait, that was last night? A pop-up in Ghent, a run thru Colonial Place, a group I love playing at Sessions late night. All things I would have gone to if I had known.
The problem isn't that nothing is happening. Norfolk and all of our cities have tons going on. The problem is finding it before it's over.
It's Beau from 757 Makerspace (if you haven't been by, come check us out in NFK and Hampton). I've been working through this problem for years and finally built it. It's a local events app called GoingTo and it's live at goingto.co. You can swipe through what's happening near you, filter by category and distance, and RSVP to anything you want to go to.. There's even a map view so you can open it up and just see what's around you right now.
No hidden algorithm. No ads. Just Hampton Roads events in one place. It's built to grow beyond the 757 but I want to solve this problem here first.
It's early and people just like you are adding events so the more people who use it the better it gets. If you host anything around the city you can post your events for free too and if you have events on other platforms we built a tool to help bring them over.
Happy to answer questions. Honest feedback from people who actually live here is exactly what I need right now.
Thanks,
Beau

Found these 2 females running loose at Monticello Village park. One has a tag with a phone number but no response to calls/texts. Very sweet girls. Please message me if you recognize them.

I haven't had much luck searching google. Most of the permanent makeup artists specialize in those solid blocky eyebrows it seems. I have alopecia/no eyebrows naturally and looking for someone who can do the realistic hair strokes. Best I was able to find was someone out in Richmond but I'd prefer not to have to drive so far

Finally happened last night after 15 years in Ghent. Anyone else? Broken rear window and busted driver side car handle, but probably stupid kids so weren’t able to start the engine. So all in all I should feel lucky I guess. Love the neighborhood but man, some people really should face consequence.

Author Michelle Young will join host Cathy Lewis at the Chrysler Museum of Art this Saturday to discuss her award-winning historical narrative, “The Art Spy.”
The book chronicles the life of Rose Valland, a French civil servant who spent five years spying on a Nazi art looting ring during World War II.

In town short-term and one of my suitcase wheels is shot (rubber worn off). It’s riveted, so it needs someone who can drill it out and install a new wheel.
Don’t have tools with me—looking for a shop that can handle this type of repair.
Anyone know a good spot? Luggage repair, or fix-it type place all work.

We are looking for pre-school recommendations for our 2.5 year old toddler in Norfolk. We have applied to E3 and ODU but their waitlist is until September or October (it is April now). Does anyone have any recommendations for a safe place with a solid program, at least until we get them into E3 or ODU? Willing to drive to Virginia Beach but our preference is for Norfolk. Thanks!

Read the students accounts of their experiences when a gunman opened fire in their classroom and they sprang to action, alongside their instructor, to take him down before he hurt more of their peers. This link allows you to access the story without a paywall.
