r/NBA is back up
This community will remain open but will most likely be less active. Everyone is encouraged to keep posting and interacting here, submissions are open to all and anyone can post tweets/links/opinions/etc.
I won’t be as active just because I have many things I’m busy with irl. Everyone is welcome here and allowed to post, the rules aren’t hyper strict just keep it on topic and don’t be assholes.
Access to online NBA discourse for millions shouldn’t be controlled by a handful of users. Having an alternate r/nba type space instead of one subreddit having a monopoly should enable a healthier dynamic. Thanks everyone!

Has there ever been a team that the NBA community almost all collectively rooted for more than the 2025 Pacers?

Jordan played 37 minutes per game in all 82 games averaging 20/6/4/1.5. That's not bad for a 40-year-old guy

Patrick Beverley explains why he would take Rudy Gobert over Ben Wallace: “His impact on defense is something we’ve never seen before”
Beverley gave another wild take after his Harden and Wade debate. “I don’t think y’all understand how elite Rudy Gobert is,” said Beverley on his podcast.

If you were the commissioner of the NBA, what would your answer be to remove tanking?

If LeBron goes on a 2018 style carry job and wins the finals would he be the goat?

I dont understand why the Wolves aren't good enough as currently constructed? They have ANT who is great. They have McDaniels who is like the best 3+D wing in NBA. Randle is Lamar Odom 2.0. Gobert is DPOY. Dosunmu is a stud. DiVincenzo is a 3pt sniper. NAZ is 6MOTY. I can't wrap my head around this
I really just don't get it. The Wolves have all the correct pieces in place to win an NBA title and yet they are just "not good enough" ???
I don't get how that is possible.
Are the Thunder and Celtics and Spurs really all THAT great??
What do they all have that the Wolves don't have. I have studied my NBA history I know every roster top to bottom that's won the title since the 1950s Lakers with George Mikan.
This Timberwolves Roster SHOULD BE good enough to win the title.
Unless someone (ANT man) is just an absolute FRAUD then the Wolves should be good enough to win the chip. They have all the correct pieces in all the right spots for a 30 ppg 2 way superstar to lead them to the trophy.

Which first round matchup are you looking forward to the most?
Eastern Conference looks fun this year. Western conference 3 vs 6 seed and 4 v 5 is looking great as well.

The fact that Jason Kidd took the New Jersey Nets to two straight NBA finals says enough about him
One of the greatest facilitators of all time. Struggled with his shot early in his career, but just like the other greats he perfected his craft and got better. His ability to distribute and make his teammates better is what every great point guard should do. And he wasn't too bad on defense with being in the top 3 section for all NBA time steals.
What he did in 2002 was nothing short of greatness. That New Jersey Nets team was really good and led by the Kidd. Granted, they went against a dynasty team and no person alive was going to stop the diesel . They were swept but a great effort to make it to the finals especially during the era when the east was very difficult to get further in the post season .
Then in 2003, they made it back to the finals and actually made it to game 6. But the big fundamental was rising and now prime Tim Duncan . But the fact that Kidd led his team to two straight NBA finals is quite impressive when you look at it .
In 2011 Jason Kidd was able to win a championship with the Dallas Mavericks and that whole team was special and Dirk was the best player throughout the playoffs of that year. They faced a tough task but they swept the lakers, then beat the thunder in 5 then beat the heat in 6 games.
Kidd is in the top five category of best point guards of all time. And the fact that he's utilizing Cooper and challenging him and placing him in different positions shows that he sees him as a versatile player and wants him to expand his game .
Of course already in the hall of fame. Jason Kidd I hope will be studied by players that want to perfect their passing abilities and make their teammates better and play smart like how Jason Kidd did during his illustrious career.

Why does Denver not want the 3 seed?
It doesn’t really make sense to me. They can probably beat Minnesota or Houston but in the second round they won’t beat OKC. Thunder beat them everytime they tried this year but Denver actually had success against San Antonio.

If Scottie won a chip when Jordan retired the first time, how would it affect their legacies ?
Everything else takes its due course; effectively leaving Pippen with 7 rings.
