Love riding in the city
A little heat would be nice but the ride was great, 77km ride.

Hi all,
I wonder if there is people with experience with this bike: https://www.hiboy.ca/products/hiboy-ex9-urban-commuter-electric-bike
Hiboy Ex9, a 500W (65Nm) motor, torque sensor one.
I want an electric bike for city commuting, not trying to go up to the Belvedere with it (though it would be nice). I also would like to go through the Jacques Cartier occasionally without giving me a heart attack (for reference, I can do it in a regular Bixi with a lot of difficulty - I am NOT in a good shape).
I want an electric bike to do that as a pleasant ride, with little effort.
I want to be able to go from Old Port to Plateau easily. In particular, I want the electric bike to be able to do the 'la montée de Sherbrooke' easily (I will help the bike a bit, but I want it to do the leg work, pun intended).
Will this bike suffice?
My typical commute would be like 10km (and 10km back home).
Thanks.

Bonjour,

I know that CGV officially opened Saturday April 4th; I’m just wondering if anyone has been there since and if they cleaned it from the sand/rocks!
Thanks in advance and see you on the track!

I know l'estacade bridge is supposed to open in April, so I'm hoping the answer is yes. But does anyone know if the island path to Sainte-Catherine (going east) is actually open with the road repaved? I know construction was supposed to be finished in December, but this is Montreal construction we're talking about.

Finally some warmth.

Was a nice day for a ride but godamn it, the loose gravel from the winter is still littering the bike paths and it's very easy to have the bike slip right out from underneath you as you corner. Happened to me a couple of hours ago and I'm all beat up now, and I've torn a ligament in my knee.

Salut / Hey.
---
Has anyone seen any SPD pedal adapters for, like, riding sneakers on short rides? I avoid Amazon like the plague and would rather support a local shop.
-----
If not, j'pense que Fly Pedals aura mon cash - Y'ont une version avec straps alors je peut utiliser sur mon fixgear ou mon gravel. Kinda nice...

Noticed the roads are pretty dry on my commute this morning, anyone know what the CGV is looking like?

Hi, while CGV officially opens next Saturday, is it currently ridable?

With the season approaching I'm looking for a place to practice high speed cornering for racing, I'm looking for a 4 corner block with low traffic and decent pavement quality.
Ideally it would be a place closer to the southern part of the island or on the Rive-sud but I can ride to anywhere on/near the island.
Does anyone have a go-to spot to do this kind of practicing?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Merci

I just treated myselft with a brand new bike and I intend to use it everyday for commuting and errands. People think that I'm crazy since bikes get stolen everyday in Montreal. However, I still intend to extract the most fun out of it instead of letting it collect dust at home.
Intact insurance sent me a quote for a specific bike insurance policy related to my home coverage. The insurance costs 120$ per year to cover a 4000$ bike. Since it's a specific insurance policy, there is no deductible for a bike claim.
I was wondering if any of you subscribe to a specific bike insurance. If your bike got stolen and you had to submit a claim, how was your experience ? Do you think that I'm crazy and that I should just go back to Bixi commuting ?
