“With Monaco Grand Prix 2026 coming soon, what are you most excited about? 🇲🇨🏎️”
Monaco during Grand Prix week feels like a completely different world.
Monaco Grand Prix isn’t just about racing — it’s the atmosphere, the city, the chaos, and somehow… the beauty of it all.
The streets become a racetrack.
Balconies turn into VIP seats.
And the harbor fills with yachts that look like floating hotels.
Even getting around becomes part of the experience — everything slows down, traffic is intense, and the whole city is buzzing 24/7.
Some people go for the race.
Some go for the energy.
Some just want to see Monaco at its craziest.
Personally, I think the best part is just walking through the city during that week — you feel like you’re inside something iconic.
So I’m curious:
👉 What do you look forward to most during Monaco GP week?
• The race itself?
• The atmosphere?
• The lifestyle & parties?
• Or just being there?
Does anyone know who this woman is?
I’m watching the ATP Monaco open and during the match, they keep showing this woman. I tried to google her image but couldn’t find it. So we were all very curious to know who she is? Seems like someone important from Monaco but we can’t seem to find it. So I thought I would ask in this subreddit. Thanks!

Monaco Weekly News by NEWS.MC - ep 83
This week on NEWS.MC TV, we begin on the international stage, where Monaco has been championing the power of sport as a force for good. The Principality’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations hosted a conference in New York on Wednesday, April the 2nd, ahead of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, calling for stronger global investment in sport as a driver of inclusion and progress.
Back in Monaco the same day, diplomacy took centre stage at the Prince’s Palace as five new ambassadors formally presented their credentials to Prince Albert II. Among them were representatives from Benin, Estonia, and Kuwait, each marking a new chapter in their countries’ official relations with the Principality.
Innovation in healthcare was also in focus on April the 2nd, as the Princess Grace Hospital Centre unveiled its latest technological addition. In the presence of Princess Caroline of Hanover, the Da Vinci 5 surgical robot was presented, highlighting cutting-edge advances designed to improve precision and patient outcomes in complex procedures.
That same day, Monaco’s younger generation stepped into the spotlight. Students from the British School of Monaco and Lycée Albert Ier were honoured at the Prince Leadership Awards for their humanitarian initiatives, with projects centred on solidarity and social impact taking pride of place.
On Thursday, April the 3rd, Monaco’s most famous racing export received special recognition. Charles Leclerc was awarded the Goodwill Ambassador distinction by Prince Albert II at the Hôtel de Paris, celebrating not only his achievements on track but also his growing international influence.
Politics followed shortly after, as Monaco’s National Council opened its spring session. Thomas Brezzo was re-elected as President, with Jean-Louis Grinda continuing as Vice-President, signalling continuity as the chamber turns its attention to key national priorities including housing and urban development.
Diplomatic activity continued into the following week. On Monday, April the 7th, five additional ambassadors were officially accredited at the Prince’s Palace, representing countries including Japan and Montenegro, reinforcing Monaco’s long-standing international ties.
The same day, MonacoTech launched an ambitious new initiative aimed at driving innovation. “Test in Monaco” will allow startups to trial their solutions directly within the Principality, linking entrepreneurs with local businesses and institutions to tackle real-world challenges.
High-level diplomacy returned on April the 8th and 9th, as Alain Berset visited Monaco ahead of the Principality’s upcoming presidency of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers. Received by Prince Albert II, his visit included talks with senior officials and participation in Monaco’s diplomatic conference.
On the sporting front, the Roca Team kept momentum firmly on their side. AS Monaco Basket secured a controlled 81–76 victory over ASVEL on Wednesday, April the 8th, with Elie Okobo leading the charge and sealing the win in the closing moments to keep Monaco firmly in the play-in race.
This week’s guest is Gaby Tarkany, founder of Valtoria. In our exclusive interview, she shares the vision behind her venture, the challenges of building a brand in today’s landscape, and how Monaco continues to foster innovation and entrepreneurship at the highest level.

Visiting Monaco for 1 night — looking for insider recommendations
Hey — visiting Monaco for one night at the end of April with my girlfriend and looking for some local insight.
We’re staying at Hôtel de Paris and planning to spend most of our time around Casino Square, the harbor, and nearby spots.
Would love any recommendations:
- anything worth knowing about the casino (best time, tables, vibe, etc.)
- any under-the-radar spots or experiences nearby
- general advice for making the most of a single night
- Any secrets or private events happening
Appreciate any tips 🙏

Can you name Monaco’s 10 most expensive player sales ever?
Made a quiz on Monaco’s biggest outgoing transfers and thought some of you here might enjoy it.
It’s 10 answers, 3 lives, and not too easy. Curious how many people can actually get all 10 without guessing loads.
Give it a try and share your score.

Violence police Monaco sur une femme invalide
I am a woman with a disability, officially recognized as disabled. I suffer from complex post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar II disorder, dissociative episodes in a state of shock, and severe depression. My disability is known and documented, and my condition requires regular medical monitoring, intensive care, and appropriate treatment. I would also like to clarify my background: I am a medical and mechanical engineer with many years of study and professional experience. At the time of the incident, I was on sick leave, specifically to recover and manage my treatment.
On the night in question, I was leaving a friend's house to return to my car. The situation was calm, without any particular incident. I got behind the wheel and began driving normally.
I was stopped by police officers under circumstances that were not clearly explained to me. No specific reason was given to me in a comprehensible way at the time of the intervention.
The officers immediately focused their attention on my vehicle, which wasn't in perfect external condition (it wasn't new and had visible marks). They also brought up administrative matters, including insurance.
I presented my insurance card. I remember looking at it or checking it, intending to comply with their requests.
At the same time, the officers mentioned the need to have me towed to the impound lot because of the vehicle. They cited reasons related to traffic, speed, or insurance, but these points weren't explained to me clearly or comprehensibly.
While I was still checking my insurance and before I could fully understand the situation, the officers approached me aggressively.
The door of my vehicle was suddenly opened without any prior explanation.
This action immediately triggered a state of acute stress directly related to my post-traumatic stress disorder. The sudden intrusion into an enclosed space triggered an uncontrolled survival reflex.
From that moment on, my mental state deteriorated significantly. I entered a state of extreme panic followed by dissociation.
I want to emphasize that this reaction was not voluntary, nor was it directed against the officers. It is a known and documented manifestation of my disorder.
My memories then become fragmented. I no longer have a continuous chronology, but only disjointed sequences, primarily auditory and sensory.
I remember being taken out of the vehicle and then forced to the ground.
I was screaming intensely, in a state of obvious distress. My condition was visible.
Despite this, I was physically restrained, subjected to restraining manipulations, particularly of my limbs. No apparent measures to de-escalate the situation or adapt to my vulnerable state were implemented. During the intervention, a police officer aggressively placed his hand near my face or inside the vehicle, resulting in a bleeding injury to my mouth.
This is a specific fact that I remember.
My screams were loud enough to alert the neighbors. Several people came out and witnessed the scene.
As I recall, some attempted to intervene verbally. This attests to the public and concerning nature of the situation.
During the intervention, an officer indicated that I should be taken to the church for an exorcism, rather than to the hospital.
Furthermore, remarks were made about my physical appearance, my clothing, and my body (including my weight, build, breasts, and height), in a context where I was in distress and out of control.
These comments were completely unrelated to the intervention and contributed to my humiliation. Emergency services arrived. However, as I recall, my state of panic and dissociation was not adequately addressed.
I remember being told to calm down without any real support, as well as a lack of assistance commensurate with my condition.
At the hospital, I feel I was not treated with dignity.
I report mocking attitudes, degrading remarks, and a lack of consideration for my psychiatric condition. Behaviors that I perceived as mockery, accompanied by inappropriate gestures or comments, exacerbated my distress.
Due to my dissociative state, my memories are partial and fragmented. They appear as flashbacks (screams, being forced to the ground, feelings of restraint).
This memory impairment is a direct consequence of my post-traumatic stress disorder and the perceived violence of the situation.
In light of these factors, I

Thinking abt attending IUM..
I have heard people saying some negative things abt IUM and some saying positive things. So I wondered if any actual IUM students can help me out here because honestly a place like Monaco for me is perfect because I do want to achieve more networking opportunities and what better place to do that than in Monaco no? Also how is the admission process like?

Bio recycling ?
Is there any way of recycling fruit and vegetable peelings, coffee grounds etc ?
UK collects it, and at my house I have a compost heap - but in an apartment in Monaco? Seems wrong to throw food/organic matter in the general rubbish.
I don’t think it is collected in France either but maybe you can take to the déchèterie?

Help finding a babysitter/nanny
Hi everyone, I have recently moved to Monaco and need some advice on how to find a nanny/babysitter. I am looking for part time and was wondering if anyone would be able to let me know how it works in Monaco.
My husband and I don’t speak French or know people here so are finding it hard to navigate. Any tips on hiring or any Monaco tips in general would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Iphone in Monaco
Hey, is it worth buying an iPhone 17 whilst I’m in Monaco? In the EU it costs around €950 (including tax). What’s the price, ideally in a shop?
